This is kind of like renaissance painting to me
we deserved more seasons of house not because they wouldve been good or entertaining or even worthy of being ripped onto tik tok with subway surfers gameplay at the bottom. but because we deserved so much more of chi park than we got
ex-fucking-scuse me, Chase, you have no business looking that good out of focus and on the edge of the frame
cordially, how dare you
i know i’m late to the party (12 years) but where are the fanfics about this two?!?!?
This episode is so interesting.
It's the first glimpse into Chase's background with religion and how he's been shaped by it. And though he's not following the path he used to--joining the seminary (or was he already part of it?? sorry I'm not religious at all and don't mean to offend, I have no idea how the practices work)--he still can recognize how important it was to himself at one point, as well as how important it is to her, still.
In the end, they haven't fundamentally changed each other, and they still speak to each other in their respective languages: "He'll be waiting for you when you're ready."
"We'll schedule your surgery for tomorrow."
But they both understand the caring, peace, and happiness behind those words. There's respect there. It's so good.
aaaand back on another rewatch of House to get a better beat on everyone’s character arcs and how they all change over time
cause the first time I watched House I was a kid and most of it went over my head…and the second time around I was not focused on it enough and couldn’t keep the whole plot in my head, let alone form a fully fledged opinion on their character progressions and stories
blah blah waited to long in between watching seasons blah blah got distracted by other things blah blah blah
but I just want to absorb these characters fully and learn some life lessons from them okay is that too much to ask
I want to think critically about how they all interact with each other! and how each individual brings something unique to the table. And how they all shape and see each other (and themselves) differently
so hit me with your takes! I will be looking as I rewatch *taps fingers together*
tho I will be standing by Chase being my favorite because he’s just that pretty, that can stay (jk I will not be defending this)
Animation for new house video .. newfound joy in house has brought up a lot of creativity but i just wish i could enjoy two things at the same time 😢i Miss will graham
I made these to be like "hehe look at Chase +゚。:゚(◡‿◡✿)!!" but actually I feel quite strongly about the certain power dynamic in this ship that's created by Chase being generally perceived as the more traditionally/conventionally attractive person, while Park is more the nerd/oddball type. (Especially then, when the show was shot, but that's a whole other level of intersection, so stay with me for the next part).
Intrinsically, by neither of their own fault nor intention, there is an imbalance of power in their relationship up until this point. House is right, her dreaming about Chase does make him "superior"—Chase definitely feels that way at least, like House says.
One is expected to have a sex dream about Chase, but no one is expected to have a sex dream about Park.
But Chase has, and he's been put in a more vulnerable spot with her now.
But Park is too good. Look at how she looks at him. She just carefully smiles up at him, caringly, gently, almost knowingly.
She knows immediately that he must be a little embarrassed, exposed. The moment passes, but later in the episode goes on to treat his vulnerability with respect, grace, and compassion.
And goes on to add her own little bit of vulnerability with humor at the end by ripping ass in the elevator lol
She's showing him that he is safe with her. She will take care of him. And treat him well! He need not be embarrassed with her.
And this is why I want them to be together. Park is the kind person who really tends to her loved ones, and Mr. Robert Chase could use some of that. Especially with everything he's been through family wise. She is good for him.
(and there's plenty of moments of Chase being good for Park too, but this is about my bby boi Chase rn I'll follow up on those another time lol)
WHEW okay this was originally just gonna be a post about how cute these shots are but I got really invested in these two all over again. If you made it this far, thanks for coming to my TED Talk 👊
his hands cupping her face / in her hair!
the way she drops off her tippy toes and becomes that much shorter than him!
this exchange...he's so vulnerable with her. he doesn't make a joke or play it off. he can't really look at her because he's being so honest. and she just stands there taking him in. her eyes softening. her mind changing. like. my god.
Chase had a sex dream about Park omg he is the og Colin Bridgerton
I have arrived
this is now a full blog rather than a side blog
this has been your evening news, thanks for tuning in
taub: quick, park, give me your hair dryer
park: what?
taub: don't all women carry a hair dryer in their purse?
park: have you ever met a human woman before?
*later*
taub: adams, do you have a hair dryer in your purse?
adams: of course, i'm not an animal
the way she looks at him when he turns away!
the way he listens to her so intently!
forget that sometimes chase’s first name is actually robert. what do you mean he’s not called chase chase
