So for the record because I've seen sooooo many phm posts going around using slurs. Yes, people in the intersex community are aware that hermaphrodite is used in biological contexts to mean "animal that produces both male and female gametes." Yes, it's still a slur in that context, and was adopted in biological circles from its usage as a slur. The word has been used as a slur against intersex people since at least the 14th century. It came into use in biological contexts in the 18th century. This is a word that spent 400 years being used as a slur before it was used to mean an animal that produces two types of gametes.
Yes, Eridians only have one sex. I obviously don't speak for the entire intersex community, but the terms that intersex advocates suggest using alternatively are "cosexual" or "monoecious." Both of these terms describe organisms with male and female reproductive organs, or which produce both male and female gametes. If you're in the camp where you think Eridians only produce one type of gamete, an appropriate term would be "isogamistic."
We don't use the r-slur to refer to people with intellectual disabilities, despite the fact this was the commonly accepted medical term for many, many years. It was used in medical contexts. It was used in American federal law until 2009. The language has changed. Please be kind to your fellow fandom members and use a term to refer to Eridians that does not have a history as an intersexist slur.
Leon kicked the locked door. Merlin could probably free them. He had magic for heaven's sake! But no, he'd decided to sulk.
Less sulk, and more collapse onto the bathroom floor and ponder how the fuck their immortal lives had come to them being trapped in a bathroom. Merlin had just wanted Leon's help with the cleaning, and on pure muscle memory they'd closed and locked the door. And then it wouldn't unlock. It refused to.
"We're cursed," Merlin decided. Leon rolled his eyes to himself. Merlin had been in something of a dramatic mood for the past few weeks, and it was really showing. A curse would do more to them than trap them in a bathroom. It was just good old fashioned bad luck and coincidence.
"Isn't Elyan coming over later?" Leon asked instead, turning so he could lean back against the door.
"That's tomorrow," he mumbled, talking more to the cobweb around the light fixture than Leon. Leon mumbled out a curse in a dead language. "We are stuck, trapped forever more, worse we shall remain until the door falls from its hinges."
"We'll get out soon," Leon told him instead of indulging his latest bout of dramatics. He turned to the door again, kicking it again as if that would help. The lock refused to budge. He whacked it with the half empty bottle of toilet cleaner, and it refused to budge.
"We are stuck here for all eternity, this hell shall never cease," Merlin mumbled. Leon sighed, and whacked the lock again. It twisted just barely.
Leon grasped at it and forced it to turn, finally unlocking. He swung the door open and grinned.
"Fixed it," he told Merlin. Merlin chose not to hear him and went on mumbling about being trapped forever. For his own sanity's sake Leon stepped out the bathroom, leaving him behind to lay on the shower mat and talk to the light.

Please read this because it is EXTREMELY important me (a transgender man) and to other trans individuals.
The US Government is currently trying to pass an incredibly dangerous national law for trans youth called HR 2616.
This bill would ban all Federally funded schools from teaching about gender identity or sexual orientation, prevent teachers from using the correct pronouns and names for trans students, remove books with any trans representation in them, and even go as far as to prevent teachers from acknowledging trans identity AT ALL.
Any school that does not follow this will lose all federal funding. This bill would also require teachers to forcibly out trans students to their families, which would be fatal to any trans student with a transphobic Family or just hateful family in general. Trans people are already a group that already has some of the highest rates of being victim to suicide, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
This bill actively makes teachers put those innocent children at such a big risk. This bill has rapidly passed the house this week with support from all 209 republicans, as well as 8 democrats. But, it's still being voted on in the senate, which means there is still time to help stop this.
To help stop this, you can visit 5calls.org (look up 2616 in the search bar), one of the most top issues filed Oppose Attacks on LGBTQ+ Students. Once you put in your general location, it will pull-up contact information for your senator, and give you a script for calling them.
If you are a minor and/or do not feel comfortable doing this, PLEASE repost this on here, or any other platform you are on/can find! This needs to be heard and fought against.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an insane show because the first 4 seasons as we experience them are technically no longer canon by season 5. To the characters, those first 4 seasons were different in ways that we will never get to see, which is such a wild storytelling choice that i am literally always thinking about
I legitimately do not think another actor other than Anthony Head would have had the talent or expression to pull of a single one of Giles's more emotionally charged scenes. Especially in s6, the anger, the sadness, the fear he portrayed while confronting Willow, it was amazing, he was an extremely talented actor across all 7 seasons and I hope he rests in peace
