There's a bit of a longer timejump between Endwalker, Dawntrail and the upcoming expansion. Typically I put one year between expansions but EW-> DT is three years and DT takes up two years!
Merlaia and Rheva are WoLGraha kids while Renatus Oen Varro is Bianca's adopted son from "Into the Cold", where instead of possessing a corpse she's in the body of a child soldier. Those extra years between EW to current expansion is to help the WoLs get settled in their current family situations! + some well deserved rest from world ending threats,,, Ramon and Estinien also get married in this time :D

It was a Bianca (and Dice) weekend!! Took the time to design her ancient, sketch Ramon/chibis for the WoLs bc it's been a hot min, and do a page of Iaepetus and Althea bc the last thing I did for them was in like,, 2022 LMAO
I've also started compiling WoL lore in a master doc!! So if you ever want to learn more about the light party (first meetings, what got them to adventure, msq reactions, etc) it's here! Currently writing for Stormblood \o/
Sometimes I just want more things that are the WoL passing by Sharlyans deep in theoretical discussions about the limits of magic and reality and just casually dropping the most insane bits of knowledge

Assuming of course that Halmarut is in fact a reliable narrator. Historically the Ascians have been rather unreliable in that regard.
This is true! I'm open to either route personally (fallout from taking out Hydaelyn/Zodiark or simply Halmarut fucking around with us to meet her own ends) as both fit her seat's role! I just lean towards the first option as it's been brushed over prior. Briefly mentioned in the Studium FSH quests I think? But otherwise a soft dismissal in favor of current msq, which leaves a nice opportunity to circle back to it :D
Hell, even if it doesn't turn out like I thought and I'm 100% wrong, I think I'll have a really fun time with this next expac! Patches have been really fun
