thank you to my instinct-pulls on the JP 4.5 anni bloomfes banner for empurple mizuki (and then a dupe of it). proud to say that mizuki is the FIRST character that i have one 4* of every type for!!

my rate-ups were colorfes hona (not bloomfes)/the default), colorfes haruka, empurple mzk!

for reference, my 4*s for other niigo members:

(each only encompasses three types, even mfy who i have SEVEN 4*s of; kanade, mafuyu, ena)

(and now i have a full set of pure and mysterious niigo 4*s now! i've had full mysterious for a while now, bc of ainandesu, engeki and white day mzk, the pures are scattered tho)

so we all know the premise by now: kanade must keep composing until she creates a song that can save mafuyu.

but what does it mean to save her?

it's not stopping her from "disappearing." it's not making her smile. it's not helping her find a goal in life. it's not even getting her out of her abusive household. because all of those things have happened already and kanade hasn't so much as patted herself on the back.

considering all that, i don't think kanade will ever "save" mafuyu. none of her songs will ever accomplish that mission. they can't.

because here's the thing. kanade doesn't use her songs as a means to save people. she uses "saving people" as a means to keep making songs. remember, it all goes back to her guilt complex. if mafuyu or someone else doesn't need her music to save them, she feels she has no right to create it.

and she can't imagine her life without music.

with kana6, we see it's not just music she fears she'll lose if she no longer has to save someone. she fears she'll lose her friends (her new family) too. in other words, she'll lose everything.

The hand movements that Niigo does in the Koufuku Kei 2DMV in the chorus intrigue me because they have to mean something if the artists chose to animate them right? Unfortunately I do not know things lol.

On a related but more certain note, I noticed how of everyone seen with the red strings, Kanade's the only one not actively manipulating them, instead just holding them between her fingers idly. Additionally I'm not sure if they all belong to her. I think this is meant to symbolize how while the other three want to grow, move forward, and decide their own fates, Kanade is stuck where she is, hoping her music can change others' lives instead of working to improve hers.

I won't lie the movements remind me of a conductor's hand movements. I could be wrong though

See I had similar thoughts. I think the string could be somewhat symbolic of the future. Mizuki ties her string up in a bow, which could be a nod towards her doing something with fashion in the future or maybe even her identity as a girl. Mafuyu's playing cat's cradle with hers, so it's not definite. Similar to how she hasn't definitively found her sense of self yet and thus isn't sure how she wants her future to pan out. Ena's string connects to a paintbrush, which is pretty self explanatory I think.

Meanwhile, as you said Kanade's string is idle in her hands. Towards the end, the string turns into a cable that gets plugged in, becoming part of the machine. Once Kanade saves Mafuyu, all she'll be is a machine for writing songs.
