Objectum Media News: Welcome to Objectum Media! Grand Opening
Objectum Media is a hub for members of the Objectum and POSIC communities to recommend media to each other. We run a website at objectum-media.neocities.org, which we intend to use to host objectum resources and maintain a list of media recommendations.
Objectum Media is for people who:
★ Likes to share media about sentient objects / object relationships ★ Is looking for media that fits this description ★ Wants to discuss this type of media with other objectums ★ Is interested in the "indie web" movement and personal websites, and would like to see the objectum community grow in these spaces
If you're interested in joining the Objectum Media community, we also have a Discord server. Anyone may join the Discord to subscribe to and receive updates for the website, but for the time being, only 16+ members may gain access to the social channels. This restriction may change or be removed at a later date.
Media submissions are also open; media can be recommended through the askbox or on our Discord server. They will be added to our website's queue for a volunteer to get to. If you would like to volunteer to write an entry, take a look at our volunteer guidelines and consult the Discord server!

people ask me why i want to identify as both a trans man & a lesbian a lot. as a naturally masculine intersex afab & trans man who knew they weren't a "normal girl" from the getgo in childhood, i had lesbianism weaponized against me my entire youth. people would call me butch like it was a bad thing, call me a dyke, lezzie, lesbo, whatever, accuse me and my then-best friend of dating because we were both "girls". people wanted me to be a lesbian so bad because it was something to hate. if i showed interest in being attracted to women, which i did, it was bad
being a lesbian is not something to hate. being butch is not something to hate. being a dyke is not something to hate. being a masculine intersex or afab person is not something to hate. i LIKE being a masculine iafab person. i LIKE being a butch nonbinary gnc genderqueer person. i LIKE being a dyke. and i am attracted to women, and i feel like my attraction to women has always been queer/sapphic. my attraction to men as a man has always been queer/gay. it's okay for me to differentiate and distinguish these experiences, and it's okay to have multiple modes of expression and identity.
it's okay for me to like being a lesbian and a gay man. i am a bigender genderqueer nonbinary person. it's okay for me to want to and to be both. it's okay for these to be two of my modalities of expression and presentation and experience. it's okay for me to like and embrace both of these experiences. and want to accept as much of myself as i can, especially if parts of it were weaponized against me.
it's okay for you to do the same. it's okay for you to also embrace parts of yourself that society tried to make you hate. even if it's under the wrong framing, even if they're not interpreting you right, it's okay to embrace that for the sake of your healing if it feels right and good to you. it's okay to reclaim that experience and include it into your identity if it feels like you. it's okay to want to be and enjoy being something that you've been told is bad.

this blog respects and supports people who have a crush on one or more fictional characters.
You know what, fuck people who force writers to reveal their trauma in order to justify the stories they write. No consumer is owed an explanation for the content a creator creates, and no creator should feel obligated to draw from or admit to pain that may or may not be in their life in order to craft a work of fiction.
“I had an idea for a story” is all the justification you need to write one, and all anyone needs to let it be.
I took my dad to pride today. After asking him and saying what itt might entail, I made him a free dad hugs sign:
While walking there, a lot of people pointed at him and said it was a cute idea. They were right.
My (and his) personal highlights were:
A guy hugging him and saying something in Ukrainian (bc of the flag, probably)
Someone asking him if they can call him "daddy" (I had to explain to him why I started laughing. He now knows.)
Someone giving him a rose
Someone kissing him on the cheeck
A lot of people seeing me standing around awkwardly while there was a line forming in front of him and hugging me too
A guy my dad's age hugging him with tears in his eyes
A kid my age shouting "I don't have a father!", Running towards and almost tackling him
A guy in a fetish-related dog mask hugging him and clinging to him like a lifeline
Two children between eight and ten initiating a group hug with him and giggling the entire time
Everyone thanking him afterwards and a lot of people saying he gives the best hugs in the world. One guy said he'd never been hugged like that before
This guy in a moving lorry shouting and making the lorry stop driving to get a hug from my dad:
My dad said that the majority of people hugging him were either older (25-60) queer men or younger (15-25) trans people. He really loved the experience and felt like a lot of the people, especially the older guys really needed it.
Anyway we're definitely doing this again next year
Hi, guys. A friend of mine is putting together a website and media recommendation list called Objectum Media. Go check them out:

we like to talk about aro rights. which are very important! but i'd like to show support for......
aro wrongs
So, Fox News posted an article mentioning aromanticism on Valentines Day.
They were talking about WaPo posting an article about how asexuals and aromantics were celebrating, and then somehow connected WaPo to the sexual abuse of children by talking about them being “under fire for publishing a glowing review of a play about sexual predators”. In the same article. Clearly trying to form mental connections between asexuals, aromantics, and CSA.
Most of the comments were not zeroed in on that aspect, tho, and instead focused on calling aromantics and asexuals “mentally ill” and saying we “needed to be studied until scientists find a cure”, or how we just can’t get dates so we’re making excuses. Y’know. What you expect to hear from aphobes.
We’ve been pushing for more visibility for both the asexual community and the aromantic community and it’s clearly happening now. But it’s coming with all the problems that increased visibility comes with, and that is more people being openly bigoted. Emphasis on openly cause let’s be honest with ourselves and admit they were bigoted against all a-specs before they had a word for us. It just stayed in that amatonormative corner of their brains going “everyone is just like me”.

Hey remember when they found over 200 bodies of native children buried behind a residential school and the world cared for... what, a week?
They've counted about 6,000-7,000 now, for those of you who do still care
It should NOT fall on Indigenous people's shoulders to keep this known still. We’ve been doing that for generations at this point and NO ONE wants to listen to us.
We’re tired, mourning and constantly reopening our trauma and pain to keep people caring about us. It’s terrible.
I should start by noting that I am white, and not Canadian, and that if op wants me to remove this comment for any reason, please let me know.
This is a map of all the residential schools in Canada:
[link to the article it’s attached to, it’s interactable there, so you can get a better look around]
Each dot on this map represents a residential school. Blue dots mean the school is considered completely searched. Yellow dots mean they are either in the process of being searched or there are plans to be searched. Red dots indicate that no search has happened and that no search is currently planned
There were more than 130 residential schools in Canada. This map suggests that only six have been fully searched, and a little more than a dozen partially searched (I counted 15 yellow dots). That leaves at least 109 schools completely untouched.
Let that sink in; if 6,000-7,000 unmarked, indigenous children’s graves were found by searching less than a fifth of all the schools, how many are still undiscovered.
Wikipedia estimates that the body count could be over 50,000, and honestly, that could be a low estimate

The thing about exclusionism is, well, you can arbitrarily choose to define "lesbian" so it only applies to people 5'5" and under, and now everyone over 5'5" is not a lesbian so they're not allowed to have a say in how the word is defined
Just saw the phrase "proshipping urges" ??? The fuck is a proshipping urge
the proship urge to be left the fuck alone
i'm- " sinful urge " but repackaged oh my GOD-
