some theaters and touring productions have started doing this thing where they run the show without most of the lighting/sound cues, the actors come out beforehand and introduce themselves, and the audience lights are kept on throughout. this is so people with different sensory needs can see the play without being overwhelmed.

its been generally well received and i think it should be broadened to the rest of society.

once a month the clubs and bars have no strobes or disco. the Beyoncé concert has an option for an afternoon run without the pyrotechnics. movie theaters where the volume doesn't explode your bones (this ones personal lads).

imagine people with seizure disorders being able to enjoy a concert without worrying the light-show was going to ruin their night. imagine your favorite bar a little quieter once in a while. imagine a world where we involve everyone.

Arthur’s laundry? Laundresses.

Mucking out stables? Tacking horses? Stable Master and Stable Boys.

Scrubbing floors? Housemaids/Maidservants.

Delivering messages? Pages.

Sharpening weapons? Squires and Blacksmiths.

Taking care of Arthur’s wardrobe? Chamberlain.

Not even to mention that as the literal Prince’s Personal Servant he had wayyyy more power in the staff hierarchy than I think he ever realized.

Arthur just looked at this poor farmer-boy peasant who had never even seen a castle before in his life and decided to give him the work of 6 different people, just to be petty, correctly assuming he wouldn’t know any better, then proceeded to keep that up for like 10 years.

It's nuts how common it is to not allow children to be angry, even (especially) in households where adults are angry all the time. As a child I knew my own anger was unacceptable--not just expressing it outwardly but feeling it at all. So now as an adult my immediate reaction to my own anger is often to feel guilt instead of like. Noticing when someone is being rude or unfair or my boundaries are being violated or whatever. fucked up.
