Protests have continued nonstop in nyc and other cities in the US. Follow activists and black creators and youâll see this is not a trend. BLM started in 2013 and has grown so much this year. Donât dispair, keep educating yourselves and others and being active in other ways that you can.
Can we please stop associating being a good person with how much you're willing to suffer in silence for other people? You can be a kind person and still say "no, I don't have the time/energy to help you with that." You can be a kind person and still say "this makes me uncomfortable, please stop." You can be a kind person and still say "I disagree and here's why." You can be kind and still say "I'm not okay with this." Being kind is about treating people with kindness and respect, not about being the human equivalent of a doormat!
does anyone else get mischievous joy out of being nice sometimes?
like âHaha, I knew you were going to be hungry so I got you your favorite food so I can surprise you with it being ready when you get here GOT YOUâ
âIn the Hall of the Night Kingâ
âI really donât understand why Iâm tied up.â
Down underneath the streets of Kalastria lay a secret. A secret that was not kept well as everyone knew it. Every townsperson above could tell you that underneath the sewers in the ancient catacombs down below there was a throne. And from that throne, the Night King made court.Â
From his throne, the Night King surveyed the individual on their knees before him. He was a tall man, thin without being skeletal, and carried an air of authority. The Night King ran a hand through his long brown hair while smirking.
âOh no?â he asked. âCould you venture a guess at it?â
The individual audibly gulped. âW-Well,â they said, âthis must be some sort of misunderstanding, o-obviously.â
The Night Kingâs smirk changed into a grin. âOh oh course, a misunderstanding. Then youâll of course tell us where you got that fancy piece of magic you wore on your wrist, as well as where you came from.â
âAs if youâd believe me even if I told you.â The individual lowered their head down to the ground and closed their eyes.
âThen you will die,â The Night King said, matter of factly. He raised his hand to signal his guards.
As if on cue, a high pitched squealing noise started emitting from small object to the Night Kingâs side. It grew in volume until everyone fell to the ground. Everyone except the individual.
âDamn Lucky, take ya long enough?â the individual rose up and walked quickly over to the object. The object itself appeared to be a bracer of some sort with an attached glove. On the wrist of the bracer was a small glass panel. The panel lit up and a face appeared on it.Â
âSorry Wilson, thereâs no Net connection here, I had to get creative.â
âWhatever. Extend cut laser.â
A tiny red beam shot out of the device and Wilson maneuvered to put the rope that bound his hands underneath it. The ropes soon fell away and Wilson grabbed the device and strapped it to his wrist.
All the while, the high pitched noise continued. Once Wilson had the device firmly in place, it stopped.
âYo, king dude,â Wilson slapped the Night King a few times in the face lightly. âBest take note, cuz I donât like repeating myself and I dont wanna see you make a bad decision. The names Wilson Jones, and Iâm the best Technomancer that ever lived. This here is Lucky, and I picked him up in Seattle. Now Iâm gonna go and figure out why Iâm suddenly here and not in my apartment trying to find my next Run.â
A few more taps and a small round object popped out of Lucky. Wilson pressed it twice and dropped it on the ground, before hightailing it out of the room as a gas started pouring out. The Night King had just enough time to note exactly what Wilson looked like before unconsciousness overtook him.
There would be hell to pay. No one disrespected the King of Thieves like that.Â
Conservatives: If you were a good Poor, youâd be grateful for your shit job and not lust after silly things like restaurant food, entertainment, or travel.
Also Conservatives: WHY ARE YOU SELFISH POORS NOT BUYING LUXURY ITEMS!?!?!?!?!?!? YOUâRE KILLING OUR USELESS OVERPRICED INDUSTRIES!!!!
I was trying to roll my gender back in my head just for fun, but my mom said âdonât do that with your gender, itâll get stuck like that!â And you know what? I didnât listen, she was right.
Not to sound like a 90s shallow prep, but how you dress can affect your self esteem, and putting energy into wearing things you actively like and projecting an ideal of yourself through fashion instead of seeing clothes as things you have to put on out of obligation helps.
It also can give you a sense of control over your appearance that you otherwise wouldnât have lmao
this post is written in a humorous tone but this is the realest shit.
two years ago i wore baggy sweatpants and flip flops every day because i was depressed but then decided eh to hell with it and bought some black edgy emo clothes bc thats how i always wanted to dress but never got a chance to and it was only then that i realized that the sweatpants flip flops look was just keeping me in my depression funk. i didnt like the way i looked and i didnt identify with the clothes i was wearing and it only made me feel worse.
i then went through my entire wardrobe and got rid of everything that made me feel that way.
now i have multiple outfit possibilities requiring different levels of effort but on days where putting on clothes just seems like a project i just have to put on black jeans and a band t-shirt and i can still feel good about the way i look which is a really good way to start off my day.
i can not recommend this approach to clothing enough.
being poor is traumatic. even if youâre not homeless or starving. never being able to get anything nice for yourself, never being able to go out to eat without feeling guilty, never being able to do anything fun that isnât free, making you housebound in bad weather because you canât afford to go to a cafe or a movie. it takes a toll. being poor under capitalism makes your life a waking nightmare. this post must be reblogged by everyone.
