My one boring tip to anyone in their 20s is to resist the temptation to rot in your room every time you get a free moment. Dismiss any neuroses you have about going outside and "being perceived". Be a dictator about it, plan your hangouts like they are binding commitments. No excuses! Go to the bar with your friends. Be kinda hungover at work. Socializing is like exercise; even if you don't feel like you want to, you should still do it because it's good for you.
It would kill half the 19-25 year olds online to realize "I can't help it I have trauma" is one of THE quintessential abuser excuses
when men are like āwomen need to be nicer and more complimentary to menā i CRINGE! why donāt MEN get more complimentary to men. start telling your friends you want to fuck them. donāt make women pick up YOUR slack
I think one of the kindest things you can do for people with various mental health struggles is just... let people back into your life after they've been absent for a while.
Making friends as an adult is so fucking hard already and isolating yourself from other people is a very common symptom of depression, anxiety, burnout, ocd, trauma, grief, etc. Which means that someone will do the hard work of recovery/healing and resurface back into a world where their previous friends have written them off because they stopped showing up.
So if you know someone where you're like "yeah we could have been better friends but they fell off the map a bit" and that person suddenly reaches out, or starts showing up to events even though you kind of forgot they were still in the group chat... well they may have been Going Through It and you don't actually have to punish them for their absence you can just be glad that they're back.
Needed to hear this today.
as much as I cannot handle being perceived yes this tracks

The sibling vibes have never been more obvious than this interaction.
I truly believe I was a noir detective in a past life.
I can still smell the stale cigarette smoke from the Lucky Strikes I inhaled constantly and hear the jazz music that played when I would enter a room.
Iām also still a sucker for a no good dame with legs that donāt quit.

Obsession was a great movie. Curry Barker knocked it out of the park 100% and I hope he continues to make more amazing movies.
THAT BEING SAID, I could not wait for the movie to be over. It was suffocating, truly. I know that was the entire point of the vibe of the film, but Jesus Christ I was so happy to see the end credits roll. Between having to see bearās dumb fucking, useless face the whole time and seeing Nikki having exactly ZERO support from any of her āfriendsā while her entire life is being taken away from her in every single way except actually taking her life.
Iāve never not wanted a final girl in a horror movie until now. Killing Nikki would have been so much better than what she got. š she truly is the Tragedy Iāll be thinking about for way too long.
