I was working on facial expression for my animation.
Animation elective
This was my character development for my animation. I wanted to incorporate some colour, hence the red streak in her hair.
Casting workshop
I did the casting workshop as I enjoy working with materials that can be manipulated into different shapes. I wasn't very organised for the workshop and I went in without any items to cast. I made the choice to dip some material I found into the plaster and laying it out over different objects that would affect the shape of it. During the process, I was a little unsure but I decided to go with it. I actually really like the end result of this. I like how the material looks like it should be draping or freely falling but instead its frozen in a fixed position. I am hoping to work more and improve my skills with plaster in the near future.
I decided to take some photographs in studio two with some friends. I found an image online under the search of colourful static of television. I really liked this image so I projected it onto a white back drop and I asked some friends to stand beneath the light. While taking the photos I would say an emotion or describe a feeling that can be felt in our overwhelming society. As my now project is on visual noise, I asked my family how they feel in their every day busy lives and the results were heart breaking. From feeling completely overwhelmed to not present in their lives at all, I really wanted to capture how our quick paced society can make us feel in our day to day lives.
