This weeks task was to find ceramic pieces around our house. I was looking around and found the perfect ceramic piece which relates the MOST to my theme of water movement, which is this flower pot that has the most beautiful wave like patterns and it has such a nice shade of blue on it too. Love it.

Graphic Design Elective - ‘Abstract’ The art of Design.

Sharon posted this documentary for us to watch , and I’ve decided to check it out. I have finished it and loved it.

The first episode follows illustrator Christoph Niemann as he navigates the difficult task of creating a virtual reality animation for The New Yorker cover. Niemann’s animations are show more throughout the episode, creating a playful backdrop while he talks about his own anxieties and neuroses surrounding art.

Overall, while the series has its highs and lows, it is most definitely one to watch. The Art of Design really helped me understand the world of design more and provided interesting insights and lessons for both artists and non-artists, showing what it means to design and the power that design holds in our everyday lives.

1) Brian Biles: I love this illustration because of how Brian Biles almost created an illusion which really looks like the motion of waves.

2) Neil Stevens: I love this because it’s 3D typography! , I found this specific work from Neil Stevens really cool because the word “yolo” meaning “You Only Live Once” works so well with the water slide idea since some people are afraid of going on them. I found this really nicely worked together.

3) Mishka Watin: I liked this illustration because of the quote forming into a water drop really worked well together, I definitely want to try remake this soon.
