âBut could someone tell me what the damn movie is about?â
VOICEMAIL: [I know you're busy with work, I justâ I think I'm just being really needy right now. It helps that production is pretty full on, I think. I hope everything is working out as you planned it. Love you.]
Kabir looked at his phone and sighed, his head in his hands. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to be going as planned, and while he could put the blame on his subordinates, at the end of the day, Bhai would only see it as his fault. It would take a while before he would be making an appearance on the set of whatever movie they were filming.Â

Arms That Are Waiting Only For You || Kabir&Sameera
Sameera had to keep herself from giggling as her dearest boyfriend did his bodyscan of her - making sure she was okay. She was so used to it that she generally thought nothing of it, but after three weeks of not seeing him - she definitely had to take note. Especially when he looked at her with that smile; a smile that felt like it was only reserved for her.
âI should think so, I mean you wouldnât just buy me a large bouquet of roses for no apparent reason,â she teased, breathing in the strong fragrance, and admiring the bright colours knowing that they held special meaning for her. She set it down on the dresser in the foyer, and turned back to him, finally taking complete notice of his outfit.
In a very domestic move (and to fulfill her desire to be in his arms - what was taking him so long she didnât know), she stepped closer to him and straightened his tie gently, looking up at him with a hint of curiosity. The quilted tie, the three piece suit; Kabir had something planned.Â
âAnd hello indeed, are you just going to keep staring, or are you going to tell me about your trip? Or why on earth youâre wearing such an ostentatious tie - itâs very unlike you. Not that Iâm not admiring it, but you donât have forward fashion sense. âŠexcept for when youâre trying to impress me,â she added as an afterthought with a soft giggle.Â
âYes, well, theyâre more of an apology than anything else,â he replied with a small sheepish grin, as she took them and placed them on the table there. He watched her with gentle eyes as he observed her movements, so soft and gentle, it was an exact personification of her as a person.Â
He watched with a small smile on his face as she stepped up closer to him and straightened his tie. He softly wrapped an arm around her waist and placed a gentle kiss on her lips, all but eager for him to have her wrapped in his arms, but if heâd learned one thing in his life, it was patience, and so, he would wait till the night was over.Â
âOstentatious?â He repeated, his eyes narrowing, âdonât pretend you donât like it, Miss Singh,â he admonished her with a small chuckle, âand besides, I refuse to dress like this for everyday affairs. If I did, thereâd be no novelty for when Iâd dress up like this,â he said, placing a small kiss on her cheek.Â
âNow, Iâve made reservations, and although you look perfect, I think youâll want to change into something slightly fancier for where weâre going. And donât ask me where, Sameera, itâs a surprise.âÂ
VOICEMAIL: [âbut she'll never believe me!! *distinct sobbing* And look even Dev is crying with me, we love youuuuu baby!! *laughter floats in the bg* *Sameera's voice* Ewww Arjun your slobber is all over my phone. I will kill you! ..wait, Kabir can kill you, hai na? Haan.. what?? Oh shit what, more shots? Nahi yaar, I just wanna talk to Kabir, tum jao naa. Sorry jaan. You're probably exas- exsass- tired of listening to our silliness. I'll talk to you when I'm sober. *whispers* I love youu babe!]
Kabir listened to the drunken chatter on the phone, and shook his head with a fond smile at the overall silliness of the partiers. Of course, alcohol would do this to the best of them, but he really hadnât expected the drunken declarations of love from Deven and Arjun. It was a good thing that heâd waited till after he got back to the hotel room before he decided to listen to it. He quickly fired off a text to Sameera, hoping she was still awake.Â
[text] I love you too, Sameera. And I do miss you, you know.Â
VOICEMAIL: [âokay Arjun's gone for now, he's such a dork. And he misses Di na, but he keeps forcing shots on me anytime he sees I'm not smiling. But I could be not smiling because even though Nidhi came for Dev, and Rish came for Karan, my boyfrienâ I mean robot isn't here. Koi nahi. I know you're busy. Doesn't stop me from missing you though na? *weird kissy noises in the background* Dev, you're horrible. Arjun! Ahhhh you boys go AWAY! *Arjun's voice* Eh Kabir yaar, I love you. More than herâ]
VOICEMAIL: [Jaaaannnn! Hi babe, I know you're already rolling your eyâ *distinct male voice* oooh babyyy, I lurveeee youuuâ Shut up Arjun, I'm trying to talk to Kabir!! Anyway. Everyone is here, and there you are working on something boring. Come na?? *Arjun's voice* Haan Kabir jaanuuuu come partyyy we loveeee you! *Sameera's voice* Pay no attention to the birthday boy, he's a bit talli. Actually so am I but at least I don't sound it hahâ Oww Arjun!! Stop taking the phone, lemme talk you gadhaâ]
Arms That Are Waiting Only For You || Kabir&Sameera
If a Guinness World Record could be made for how many times a person checked their phone in a day, Sameera would have claimed the title awhile ago. By now of course she was completely used to not seeing his name appear on her phone, but it bothered her immensely. Each and every time an email or message appeared, a small hope sparked in her; and each time she was completely let down.
Hell, she got more response from his brother than she did him. However, the young woman also knew that there were times that Kabir was inconveniently busy, and it just so happened that this particular âbusiness tripâ fell directly on her birthday. It wasnât that she was upset he wasnât there to celebrate her day â it had only been Arjun, Nidhi, Karan, Dev and her that evening â or anything like that. What irked her was that she was having to go without any type of communication with.Â
In the time they had started dating, both rarely went more than two days without some sort of communication. More often than not, Sameera would message him just to see if he was alright and safe. If he was busy, she expected nothing more than a âIâll talk to you laterâ, and that was the end of it. But now, she was getting antsy. She missed her partner, and wanted him home.Â
Instead of course, the doorbell rang and she was roused out of her thoughts by being called to the foyer. She nodded, and lovingly dismissed her kaaki maa, before opening the large, ornate doors and freezing momentarily. The smile on her face widened almost immediately and it took all her efforts not to squeal loudly.Â
He was back.
âItâs about time Mr. Khan,â she hummed, gesturing for him to come inside. She knew he had to have something planned - why else such an elaborate bouquet of roses - but right now she didnât really care. She just wanted to be in his arms immediately.Â
As the door opened, Kabirâs eyes greedily took in the sight of one Sameera Singh. As per instinct, he quickly scanned her for any bodily harm on her, and was pleased when he found that nothing had happened in his three week absence. A moment went by, and Kabir was worried that he might have gotten to her at a bad time, considering that she hadnât said anything.
The moment passed and she smiled widely. Kabir smiled in return, and was about to greet her when she spoke. It was all Kabir could do to contain a chuckle. She sounded like she had expected him, and really, he wouldnât be surprised if Bhai had informed her of his arrival back in the city.Â
âIs it?â He asked, curiously, walking inside and handing her the roses. âHello, Sameera,â he said with a smile, turning to her after heâd walked into the foyer. He still hadnât taken his eyes off of her, and if Bhai had seen him, he might have been at the end of a smack, because of his carelessness, but he really didnât care, because it had been three weeks since he hadnât seen Sameera, and he really had missed her, despite his unwillingness to admit it.Â

Arms That Are Waiting Only For You || Kabir&Sameera
Kabir was running late. Not an hour late, or even two. No, Kabir Khan was running two whole weeks late. He had the night planned out really. Heâd get back on the 16th, deliver her gift to her, and then take Sameera out on a lovely dinner, and theyâd spend the rest of the week together.
It had taken a meeting, negotiations, and some good old âpersuasionâ for a few hours before the man agreed to pay up. So Kabir was satisfied with himself and had started looking at potential gift ideas for Sameera when he received a message that changed everything. Heâd been played.Â
It took an embarrassingly long time for Kabir to track down the man who had not only robbed him of his money, but also his time. The time he could have spent with his girlfriend on her birthday. Instead of being there for the one person who wasnât honour bound to like or tolerate him, he was forced to take a trip from Belgium to a dingy little town in Istanbul full of caves where he was given his money. After making quick work of the rest of his tasks, he had finally landed in Mumbai two days ago.Â
Taking one day to breathe a little and meet with Bhai to debrief him on the job, he took the second day to prepare for the apology birthday heâd have to give Sameera in order to gain her forgiveness. Her gift waiting at their dinner reservation, he was now standing in front of her door, dressed smartly in a suit, that heâd had to purchase especially for the occasion since the rest of his werenât up to par, holding a bouquet of roses, and rang the doorbell to her house.Â
So I tried giffing my OTP. It turned out well, no?

Sameera couldnât help but widen her eyes knowing that he was the reason that patient was in hospital. But before she could reply to him, he had already ordered and brought back their drinks. She gratefully took the cup from him, quietly enjoying the fact that he was now sitting next to her instead of opposite her. She knew she was definitely being a bit silly - but the small gestures he made meant a lot to her. âThank you, it was so definitely needed,â she murmured, taking a sip and perking up at the intake of caffeine.
"Also, why are you being so benevolent and visiting him anyway? Thereâs no need to harm him anymore, right?" She asked with a small smile, slightly confused but it wasnât as if she should be worried about the patient anyway. He probably deserved whatever torture Kabir put him throughâŠÂ oh dear God Sameera, what is wrong with you? She downed her espresso in two gulps, cracking her neck and resting back on her seat - she obviously wasnât thinking clearly if she wasnât even thinking of the poor person who had to face Kabirâs wrath. Instead of focusing on that though, she watched him, wondering once again how she had managed to land herself him as a⊠partner. âAs for it being your only job, when do you start work on the other projects youâve signed?â
Kabir smiled in response and took a sip of his coffee, sighing in relief. "Anytime." He said, looking at her, realising he had taken a seat closer to her. It wasn't a conscious decision, but it bothered him slightly. Why did he feel the need to sit closer to her? It was only a few inches anyway. He chuckled at her question. "He still has information that I need." He said, running a hand through his hair. "I don't appreciate being stolen from."Â
"No hurt, but threats will have to be made." He said, closing his eyes momentarily, and then opening them, looking at her and then gave her a half shrug. "Not sure. Things are still... Hectic from Ahmad Bhai and Bhai needs me right now." He said, his shoulders feeling tense. It was hard telling someone about these things, but it also felt good in a way that someone would care if he died. Bhai would, of course, but someone other than his family would care, he hoped, and that would be more than he deserved, knowing the things he had done.Â
Sameera looked up upon hearing his voice, and smiled at him, standing up to quickly kiss his cheek before sitting down once more, and making sure he did as well. She looked over him curiously, not seeing any type of injuries, and shrugged to herself. She still had her doubts of course but truth be told, she wasnât worried - she was definitely more excited to see him.Â
"Hello to you as well Kabir. I donât get it, I know I never sleep⊠par really, at 4.30am, here you are âvisitingâ a patient. Is your second job keeping you that busy?â She teased gently, her demeanor already changing. It amazed her as to how quickly she was adapting to him being a more⊠permanent part of her life (no matter how early it was in this, relationship). She looked over at the cafe, and wondered if she should just order for both of them. âBesides a triple shot espresso for me, what do you feel like having?â She was aware of his coffee preference, but hadnât memorised it as of yet - and now would be a perfect time to do so.
Kabir was slightly taken aback as she kissed his cheek, but his mind quickly took him to the night of the pink party and the night before. He smiled and kissed her hand in return, taking a seat opposite her. He could see the faint worry in her eyes, and while he knew most of it was for the AD, he knew she worried about him as well.
As soon as she spoke, Kabir saw her relax, and the corner of his lip turned upwards. "Considering I put the man in the hospital yesterday, I thought I should go and see how he's doing." He said, matter-of-factly. "And I suppose it's the only job keeping me busy for the moment." He admitted, looking at her and then around the cafe. "I'll have a filter coffee, I think." He smiled, embarrassed at his preference. It's not that he didn't enjoy a good cup of espresso. He preferred filter coffees when he hadn't had a full night's rest. He stood and walked to the counter to place the order. Walking back with Sameera's triple shot espresso and his filter coffee, he reclaimed his seat next to her.
For someone who had spent the past few days at the hospital, continuously making sure her little sister (in all but blood) was recovering, Sameera definitely looked anything but ridiculously exhausted. The messages received from Kabir were enough to bring a bright smile on her face, and she figured that while Nikita was sleeping, she could definitely manage a coffee date.
Kissing her cupcakeâs forehead, she left a note saying sheâd be back later, and quickly freshened herself up before walking down to the large cafeteria. Thankfully it was open, and she found a small side table near the window, overlooking the courtyard. She could see the glimmer of dawn and smiled, waiting comfortably for the man who gave her plenty of reasons to enjoy life - even if he liked giving her reasons to freak out; such as being at Hinduja himself. She knew very well that he wasnât just âvisitingâ, and yet she wasnât too worried either. Yes, she was definitely beyond caring at this point - she would need to sleep after today.
Kabir smiled blandly at the man on the bed and walked out of the room, his expression falling away once he exited the room. Smiling at a nurse that walked by, Kabir pulled out his phone and smiled subtly at the message from Sameera. He walked down to the elevators and headed downstairs to the cafeteria.
Walking into the large, empty cafeteria, Kabir found Sameera sitting at a table at the end of the room and walked over to her, his footsteps quiet and a pleasant expression on his face. "Hello, Sameera." He said to her, standing behind the chair that she had left empty for him.
(tu lage mujhe) pehli baarish ki dua â kabir + sameera

Sameera looked at the time and sighed. She knew she should probably try and sleep, but with Karan out partying, and no one else to keep her calm, the young woman was stressing herself out with worry. She had been asked to stay inside for the past couple of nights, and although she had wanted to defy him, there had been something in Kabirâs words that left her feeling like she should just listen to him and stay safe.Of course if I asked him for the same thing, heâd probably just look at me like I was joking or something. Doesnât he understand that I worry about him? She blinked and realised exactly what she had just admitted to herself. Before she could berate herself any further, she heard a soft knock on the front door. She looked up, and quietly walked through to the foyer to open it. What she saw, she definitely hadnât been expecting - the object of her affections standing in front of her, the rain falling heavily behind him.
