Endgame Spoiler Warning, but I have to say this.
So, people have been going on about how horrible it is that Steve can't/won't prevent bad things he knows are happening in the past. Been outright mad that "Steve lets Bucky suffer while having his happy ending". Clearly some people are little limited on their views and I'm here to point some things out.
1. Steve Rogers is a superhero, not a god. He can't save everyone. He can only do his best. But he has it little bit better than other people. In order to live without constant cripling anxiety, we all push the knowledge about horrible things in the world out of our minds and just hope everything will sort out while living our lives. Steve knows it will. He knows Bucky will be ok.
2. Bucky Barnes of the future made the decision to own his abuse under HYDRA as sacrifice to make sure the time line ends up saving half the Universe. Respect that, it was his choice.
3. Howard Stark had his flaws but he would've paint bullseye on his forehead for Winter Soldier if he knew what was at stake.
4. What we know about Steve Rogers, it's really unlikely he just sat around decades. Even if he couldn't mess with the main events leading to birth of Avengers and all, it doesn't mean he couldn't be low profile hero. Not only supporting his wife's career, he was most likely involved with many minorities as an ally and supporting human rights for those who didn't have them. Yet.
5. And to Stucky-shippers:
I understand you are dissapointed. I get it. I also thought it would be great if those two ended up together. But the thing is, that ship isn't drown necessarily all the way. Just on the shoal. These things happen. I have myself made a choice to leave my best friend behind in the past to pursue the life I wanted. We teetered years on the line between friends and lovers and finally ended up in bed together. She wanted me but she wasn't ready to settle down for familylife I wanted. So I moved on and she let me go. We lost contact for years, but as I told in my other post, we have found each other again lately. Just friends, but had a convo about how impossible it would be for us to be together still. Not to mention we both have partners we wouldn't cheat on. But, the love is there. And it's not just my own experiences, but all I've seen and heard in my 30+ years on this planet. Life and adult relationships are not simple. Add some PTSD etc. in the mix and the ending of Endgame would make sense even if Stucky had been canon in previous movies.
6. The whole Sharon-thing was weird begin with but now? Super weird. But I believe that she was in the plot whole time and is better spy that anyone knew. Just imagine Aunt Peggy and Uncle Steve (or what ever alias he used) having to sit her down and telling her she needs to kiss young version of her aunt's hubby at some point. Poor Sharon. No wonder whole thing felt so forced.
7. Am I the only one who feels same kind of denial about Natasha's fate, than Loki's? I can't believe that really happened. I won't.
