Today’s been mostly about moping, honestly. I’ve got a lot of heavy stuff going on in my life right now, and sometimes it can be hard to stay busy.

We’re redoing our studio room because we’re drowning in stuff, but it’s going to get so much worse before it gets better.

So between looking at cheap furniture online (hello, Ikea, why is your stuff too big for our space), I’m sipping some rose tea and prepping the next round of crystals to go live on Etsy. 

Because all I have to show you in relation to this post is a hella messy art room, here, have some crystals instead. XD

After doing hours of research on different epoxy resins, I decided I wanted to try Alumilite’s Amazing Clear Cast. I was excited because it did well on yellowing tests and was significantly cheaper than Ice Resin, the only other epoxy I’ve tried.

I burned my lungs.

Yeah, me and this product just did not mix. I followed the directions, but apparently should have also worn a respirator on top of our air purifier (we have one that actually removes the VOCs). Luckily it didn’t seem to affect Z like it did me. I rushed around and shoved the epoxy in the incubator to contain the fumes a bit more, opened a window and the skylight, and left the apartment.

My lungs still feel raw today, but they’re doing better. It should be cured enough to try and salvage my molds in a little bit. Guess I’m going to stick with Ice Resin, because I don’t know if I even want to risk that happening again.

Anyone else have this happen, or have any recs?
