Things your tulpa is not:

A magical end-all, be all to your problems

A Servant

Someone who will always agree with you

Someone who will never find fault in anything you do

A stand-in to pretend to be your favorite character

Your personal source of entertainment

Things your tulpa can be:

A friend

A supporter

A companion of any kind

Someone who can help you with your issues (not fix them, there’s a large difference)

A person who will call you out when you’re out of line.

And most importantly, do you know what a tulpa most certainly is? A person. And not only that, a person who deserves love and respect from their host. While there are exceptions, a tulpa should treat you right so long as you treat them right.

Importance of Symbolism in Tulpamancy

If you’ve ever tried to analyze a dream that you’ve had, you know that symbolism plays a big part with your subconscious mind.  If you are a Tulpamancer, or are interested in creating a Tulpa and are looking into the art, the concept of symbolism can help you greatly in your pursuits.

When forcing your Tulpa's personality, for example, it is not necessary to memorize every quality that you want them to have.  Instead, write the list on a piece of paper and create a symbolic representation of this list in your mind and infuse it into your Tulpa's form.

Utilizing symbolism in this way is sure to help the process of creating your Tulpa.

Tulpa Creation Tip #2

Remember, a Tulpa is not much different from what you are.  You are essentially, in and of yourself, the first naturally created Tulpa in the mind in which you reside.  Keeping this in mind throughout the creation of your Tulpa will help you get a good mental grip on what you are actually doing.  You are simply directing for what has already happened in your mind to happen once again.

Tulpa Creation Tip #1

When beginning the creation of your Tulpa, if you are new to the practice, try imagining yourself giving a part of your own consciousness to your Tulpa.  One thing to try regarding this though would be the use of symbolism.  For example, with Athena, I used the symbol of bright and shimmering eyes to represent the fact that she has a part of my consciousness used as a seed for her to grow her own.

Imagine how sourdough bread is made.  A small portion of every loaf of sourdough bread is taken from something called the “Mother Dough”.  The bread gets it sour taste from this part of the dough because of the years of fermentation that has happened in the mother dough.  Imagine your consciousness like this.  Essentially you are taking a portion of your consciousness and using it to make your Tulpa.
