IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
I also need to add the amount of bashing that I've witnessed tonight about the clean shaving look, about him being "gay" though he neither confirmed nor denied, and that he "is obviously on Ozempic because he's thin now" is disgusting. Any hate talk will not be tolerated. Thank you.

Under The Mistletoe | a short Joel Miller x Fem reader Christmas one shot.
Joel has been hiding his feelings for quite some time. What happens when luck, Ellie, and his little brother are on your side and you both end up under the mistletoe?
*not proof read
Joel hasn't been much in the holiday season since before the end of the world. Since Sarah. That changed once Ellie came into his life. She was now his main focus. He told himself he didn't need anything else, Anyone else. need You.
If he was honest, he needed you like air but he would never tell you that. He told himself he was okay with being single the rest of his days even if he meant he never had you. He didn't want to go to the annual Christmas party, but Tommy and Ellie wouldn't take no for an answer.
He walked into the Tipsy Bison just after eight, searching for Tommy when he found him, he saw, Maria and, you. Ellie was off in the opposite corner with a few friends.
After getting a drink he made his way to the table.
"Look who the cat dragged in." you smile scooting over in the booth to make room.
Tommy smiles up at Joel as he walks up and sits down. "Hey brother."
Joel nods, sitting down. "Sorry, I'm late but you know. I didn't want to come."
"Joel. The ever social butterfly." Maria quips.
"What kind of Christmas party would it be without Ebenezer himself?" You smile teasingly. "Who else is going to help little Timmy?"
Joel bites his bottom lip trying to hold back a smile as Maria and Tommy laugh loudly.
"I hate all of you." Joel grumbles.
You nudge him with your shoulder against his. "You know I'm only teasing."
Tommy shares a knowing look with his wife. You all get into a comfortable conversation. Soon Ellie joins too. Unbeknownst to Joel or you, all three have a plan brewing.
Joel smiles as you and Ellie get into a comfortable side conversation. Ellie looked up to you, you were important to her and Joel knew it, and it did something to him that he couldn't express. Tommy smiles at his brother as he watches him watch you.
"Joel, help me will ya? Let's get another round for the table."
Joel rolls his eyes before following.
"So when are you going to stop being chicken shit and tell her how you feel?"
"Who?"
"Now I know damn well you're not that stupid." Tommy stares blankly at Joel.
"Jesus. Not this again."
"Yes, this again." He orders and turns back to Joel. "Man everyone sees how you look at her. How she looks at you."
"How does she look at me?"
"I swear you weren't this clueless about women before."
"Tom, I ain't in the mood for it. I don't know why you're trying so hard to get her and I together. I don't have the time and I ain't interested. And a woman like her sure as hell ain't interested in me."
"So, along with being deaf, you're blind too." He shakes his head. "Joel the way she looks at you, she looks like she's on the prowl for her next meal."
"She's an animal now? You make her sound like she's below anything real besides sex, and you're the one who's blind if you think she'd be interested in anything with me besides a platonic friendship."
"Big brother your telling me that if she offered, you wouldn't take the chance?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying little brother."
"Look at the way she's looking at you right now."
Joel turns to see your eyes on him as you finish the last bit of your drink. Eyes slowing darting away to respond to something Maria had said.
"She wants you. Will that be just for your body or more? Who knows. But she's definitely got a thing for grumpy old Joel Miller. And lie all you want but I know you well enough to know that look in your eyes when she's around." He grabs his, Maria's orders along with Ellies drink. Leaving Joel to grab his and yours.
You thank Joel as he hands you your drink and sits beside you once more. The band began to play an all too familiar Christmas song. Maria and you begin to sing along happily.
"Baby, can I have this dance?" Tommy extended his hand to Maria.
"Why of course." She smiles taking it.
Ellie speaks up saying she wants to go ask Dina to dance. Joel nods with a smile. "Okay baby girl."
You sit there smiling at all the happy couples dancing. "Joel, would you like to dance?" You don't know why you asked, rather where you got the courage. But his soft brown eyes land on you and you couldn't help but be the most fearful yet fearless person all in one swoop.
"Not really my thing." Joel answers.
You nod, bit disappointed but you knew Joel hated this type of thing so you didn't press. You couldn't help how your face fell for half a second but he caught it. Of course he did.
Sighing, he takes your hand. "One dance."
You jumped up from the booth, trying to hold back the grin your features wanted to show. The song was a bit more up tempo than Joel would've liked for your first dance, but the words were hitting Joel harder than he'd like to admit.
"...Oh, I won't ask for much this Christmas
I won't even wish for snow (and I)
I'm just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe
And I won't make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won't even stay awake to
Hear those magic reindeer click
'Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do?
Baby, all I want for Christmas is You."
The song continued and Joel spun you around and pulled you closer again. Surprising everyone in the tavern with how well he could move. You both were smiling and laughing when you noticed Ellie began to dance a bit closer on one side of you, and Tommy on the other of Joel. Just as the song was nearing the last few lines. You were bumped into, pushing you to the side of the dance floor. Joel's hands catch you before you lose your footing. Your heart thumped in your ears and his eyes softened on yours. The song ended but neither of you moved.
"Well looky here." Tommy's thick accent broke the tension with a chuckle. Pointing up at the mistletoe that just so happen to be hanging above you now. "It's tradition ya know."
"Tommy." Joel warned through gritted teeth.
"Can't go breaking a long tradition Joel. Wouldn't be very festive of you." Ellie smiled at you both.
"I think we've been had." You look up at Joel. Who was now turning red.
"You two don't embarrass them now." Maria shook her head.
"Besides neither are brave enough to kiss the other anyhow." Dina added, as she crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"If you're not comfortable with it we don't have to." You whispered to Joel.
"It's not my comfort I'm worried about." Joel responded.
"So, you're okay with it? I don't mind Joel. It is a tradition after all." He didn't say anything, you watch as his adams apple bobbed in his throat.
Eyes scanning your face. He lifted one hand to the side of your face, as leaned in giving you pause to retreat before his mouth found yours. He tasted of whiskey, mint and... Something you couldn't place. Cinnamon? Nutmeg? Your head pounded as you pressed further into his touch without realizing, or maybe you did. You pulled away as you heard cheering from the entire bar. Turning away as blush heated your cheeks.
Joel giving a awkward outward laugh. "Really? All of you?"
"About damn time." Seth says with a chuckle from behind the bar.
"I'm going for air." You turned on your heel and left the bar. After a few seconds passed, Ellie spoke up. "Well, are you going to go after her or not?"
"Ellie, I only kissed her to get y'all to back off. I'm happy with my life. I got you and Tommy, and all of y'all. It's all I need."
"I did not come up with all of this for nothing. That's not enough of a life Joel."
"You planned this?"
She nodded, "You really think Uncle Tommy was bright enough to pull this off?"
"Hey!" Tommy gives her a wounded look, Joel laughs. "So what's it going to be big brother?"
"Dad." Ellie's voice softens. "it's okay, she's good for you. You deserve a bit of good." Smiling at Joel.
A few seconds pass by before the whole bar roars with cheers as Joel makes his way through the crowd and goes after you. His heart sinks when he doesn't see you in the square. The crushing sound of boots on hard snow comes from behind him. You're standing there with your hands buried in your coat pockets.
"Hey." He almost all but whispers. "I thought you left."
"I was going to but I got tired." Joel furrows his brows with questions. "Of running." You elaborate.
"Running from what?"
"Joel aren't you tired?"
"I'm old darlin' I'm always tired." He laughs softly from the tension.
"Not what I meant."
Joel watches as he kicks and the snow and slightly moves closer. "I know it ain't." He sighs again when his eyes meet yours. "I'm tired." He answers softly.
"Good. So you done running now?"
"I don't know what you want with an old man like me anyhow."
"I could tell you, or I could show you."
"Show me?"
You pull a small familiar piece of greenery from your pocket lifting it above your head. "Meet me underneath the mistletoe?"
Joel smiles grabbing the front of your jacket before pulling you to him. "Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas Joel." You smile before his lips find yours once more.
Please tell me what you think. I need feedback like air.
And I will 😆
It's Not That Simple| a little dabble one shot of Joel Miller x Fem Reader.
two years you've been dating and he's never said those three little words. You know he cares, and you know how Joel works, you've never pushed or asked but after the worst fight of your relationship, you question if he actually does.
Joel lay in the dark. Guilt was eating away at his chest. You left after your fight. He didn't blame you, but it was late, and you hadn't returned, and sleep was not coming. And until he knew you were safe. Safe in his home. Safe in his bed, safe in his arms, he wouldn't sleep.
He listened, he listened for the creaking sound of the old floorboard. Nothing. The old alarm clock ticking is the only sound that fills the silence. Hour by hour, he lay there. You should've been back. He doesn't blame you for leaving. He doesn't understand why you've stayed this long.
He was old, and he didn't find himself appealing to be around, not really charming. Age and hard living caused lines and creases where smooth skin once was. Not seeing the handsome face he thought he once had anymore, though you argued. He was cold and always put everyone at arm's length-even you.
He never wanted to be this way. So distant and unable to share his emotions. He's even going to therapy. It helps, he thinks, at least he tells himself it does. But to open up to you to tell you how he felt scared the hell out of him. No, it was better this way. It was safe, it wasn't honest, but if you knew, if he was honest and he lost you.
He wouldn't survive it.
It was hard without Sarah. Sarah was his sunlight, the warmth that filled the coldness that was always there. Bright and warm. Beautiful and yet burned him in the end. Then came Ellie. He fought that, he fought that girl off so damn hard. But she snuck in, snuck in like moonlight lighting up the darkness he lived so long in. She lit up his night sky, and he loved his moon.
He was content to live in the moonlight, letting it brighten his darkness. Then in the night, you came. Like a wish, cosmos in the never-ending universe. Northern lights that are full of color and beauty. He told himself to keep a distance; you were too kind, too young, too pure to taint.
He hadn't heard you, but felt the bed dip and turned in a panic, but his body ceased when he saw your back to him. "Darlin'?"
"It's late, Joel, go to sleep." You set your boots down on the floor beside the bedside table and stood.
Joel watched you disappear into the closet. "I was worried, I couldn't sleep while you were out."
"Well, I'm home now. Get some rest."
It was quiet for a second, and Joel appeared in the doorway. "Darlin'," his voice soft and cautious.
You turn with a soft huff, falling from your lips.
"Can we talk? About earlier." Scratching the back of his head, causing the tight tee to stretch across his biceps and chest.
You try your hardest to refrain from biting your lip at the sight, like you instinctually want to. "Joel, I don't want to argue with you right now. I'm drained." Your eyes colored with something close to pleading.
"Neither do I." He took a cautious step forward. "I didn't mean it. Those nasty words I said. None of it. I- Baby girl, I just don't know how to let you in." He let out a low sigh. "Or I'm just too chicken shit to let you in."
You stepped out of the closet, dressed in one of his t-shirts. Something that always got to him. "Joel, I don't know how else to prove to you that when I say I'm not going anywhere, I mean it. I have never looked at another man. I love YOU. Yet tonight a guy talks to me, and I become a "flousy" quoting his earlier words. "I need you to trust me when I say I only want you, without your insecurities hurting me," pointing to yourself with pain in your voice. "I also need to know that im not in this relationship alone. In two years, I've never pushed you, not one time, but shit, Joel. Am I alone?"
"I just don't know why you're with me, and not a guy like that?"
"A guy like what, Joel?" You titled your head, with your eyes shut, "And if you say a younger man. I swear to god, Joel, there will be another fight."
He closed his mouth just as fast as he opened it. He carefully chose his next words, "One that can live a life with you."
"A life like what? A life where I feel cared for? Protected? Safe? One where I can laugh? and feel validated?" you paused. "One with great sex?"
"Yes." Shame covered his expression.
"God, you really are an idiot." Pushing past him. He turned to see you turn back to him. "Why can't you see I have all that with you?" You closed the distance, placing his face in your hands. "Baby, I only feel those things when I am with you. You are as stubborn as a mule. I've known from the get-go you weren't a man of many words, but the way you take care of me, those little things you do. Those things you think I don't notice make me feel cared for. So I know I matter. Even when you fall short of saying the words. I don't feel safe unless you are by my side. I can tell you right now that that boy can't satisfy me a third of what you can. With age comes experience." You let out a little laugh at the crooked smile he gave you. "Your jokes may be corny, but they still make me laugh. Dammit Joel. I LOVE YOU. I love you past your hurt, I love you past your stubbornness, past your idocy."
Joel pulled you into his arms, resting his chin on your head. "I love you, I am so sorry for hurting you. You just deserve better."
"I know what I deserve, you know I won't settle for less. So why do you think I'm settling for you?"
"My big Texas... charm got to you." He let out a belly laugh.
You smacked his chest. "Oh yeah, it's your charm, alright."
He tilted your chin to look up at him. "Darlin', you are not alone. I know I don't say it, but you are my air." He picked you up before setting you down on the side of the bed." Getting on his knees before you. "I've always been afraid to say it because the things I love leave. I never wanted you not to feel it, but not saying those words out loud because what if I did and then I blink and you're gone." He lowered his head. "I was running, there's no other way to put it, I can't keep running. Not if I want to keep you."
Tears stung your eyes as he looked back up at you with glassy eyes. "I love you. I love you so damn much that nothing scares me more. From the first look you gave me, that was all it took. Darlin', the way you make me feel." You pull him up and next to you on the bed.
The kiss you shared, and what came after, was not just a declaration, but a promise. With every kiss against your skin followed by an "I love you," like he was making up for each one never spoken out loud. By the time the Wyoming sun rose in the morning, he had more than made up for each one unsaid.
This life may be scary, but loving and being loved through it is more than worth the fear.
Was looking for a someone to clean my place... Y'all think I did good?? 🫧 😂
When @valevntine gifted me the most beautiful drawing of Healed Joel, I went immediately into creator mode and made this frame for it. I’m going to make a better mat with my Cricut, but for now, he’s framed. 🧎♀️
I can't thank V enough for taking the time to bring Joel (and his slutty leg and chest) to life. Seeing all of the kind responses to how many people love Healed, and Joel, makes me very 🥹🥲🥰
Good lawd 😭🥵🫠 Perfection in human form. Hubby ❤️😍

All my work is 18+, so if you are a minor, DO NOT CONTINUE from here.
A Javier Peña x Fem Reader one shot.
----------
Two hours. Two hours left of your shift at the bar. You only started working a few days prior, and only to help your older brother who owned it.
You're cleaning a table nearby when you feel eyes on you. You look over your shoulder, and you see none other than Javier Peña checking you out as you're bent over the table. Smoke circled his head as he took a drag from his cigarette.
Quietly clearing your throat, you continue with your work, attempting and failing at keeping your thoughts off the man in the leather jacket and tight blue jeans.
You've heard rumors about the man with the big brown eyes and a look copied from a Greek statue. He was shunned from the DEA in Colombia, forced to come home with his tail tucked between his legs.
Known for sleeping with most of the beautiful women in town, and a reputation as a, quote unquote, pleaser. He was attractive, but you weren't one of those girls.
The bar begins to die down. Last call had been yelled across the bar as you made your rounds, clearing tables and gathering last payments.
"Hermosa."
You heard a rough and sensual voice call after you. Turning, you see him smiling at you. The ends of his mouth reached his large brown eyes.
You give him your last name as you walk to him. Standing in front of him, hands on your hips. "What do ya need?"
He smiles, a little too confidently. "Need? Well, I can't say, but I'll take one last shot of tequila before you close my tab. Names..."
"Peña. Yeah, I know. Just moved back, big DEA agent helped hunt down Escobar." You cut him off.
He leans back in his seat, legs spread almost like he was beckoning you to sit down. "Hmm, seems unfair. You seem to know me, but I know nothing about you."
You simply smile as you walk away to get his shot. Coming back, you hand it out to him. His jaw ticks as he places his large hand over yours, forcing you to serve him the shot. Eyes never leaving yours.
A heat shot through your center.
"Thank you, beautiful." Setting down a large bill. More than what his bill is worth. "Keep the rest."
You smiled, grabbed it, and walked away. Take off your apron as you walk. You set it behind the bar. You close all the tabs on your card and only pocket your tips. Grab your purse. You get the attention of the guy at the other end of the bar, "Carlos, I'm leaving." He nods. "Where's Marcello?"
The bar always made sure the woman were walked safely to their cars. "Where do you think?"
You rolled your eyes at the thought.
Javier walked up to you. "I'll walk her out, Carlos." Looking down at you. "Ready?"
You hesitate. Carlos nods at you. "You're safe with Javi." Cleaning a glass, barely acknowledging you.
He extends his arm, motioning you to lead the way, as he follows you out.
"You didn't have to walk me out." You feel entirely too hot walking this close to him.
"Sure, I did. It's not safe out here."
He opens and holds your truck door open. "Thank you." Your voice was barely above a whisper.
"No problem, Hermosa. See you tomorrow?"
You look at him, puzzled. He smiles. Shutting the door after you get in, leaning against the frame, waiting for an answer.
You give him your name, and he repeats it like it's cherished poetry. He tells you to get home safe, then he's gone.
It had been a few weeks now, and Javier showed up roughly an hour before your shift ended, every shift, and he walked you to your truck. It was almost like that was the only reason he showed. He'd have a beer or a couple of shots and leave a good tip.
"Javier, you know you don't have to walk me to my truck every night, right?"
"I want to," leaning halfway in the door as you sat in the driver's seat.
"Where's your truck?" you look behind, noticing it wasn't in its usual spot.
He looks behind him, scratching the back of his neck, cheeks pink with a bit of embarrassment. "It quit on me this morning on the way to the feed store, so she's in the shop."
"How'd you get here?"
"Walked."
"Javi, we're at least over two miles from your home."
He simply shrugs off your statement.
You shake your head, looking down at your keys in your hands, you haven't quite put them in the ignition yet. "How are you getting home?"
"I'll call a cab," he lied.
You turn in your seat, pushing the key into place. "Hop in, I'll take you home."
"You don't need to do that."
"Can't have my favorite escort get killed because he ends up falling off the side of the road walking home, 'cause we both know you won't call no cab."
He laughs, shutting the door before making his way to the passenger side.
"Thanks." He stretches his arm over the back seat, hand by your headrest.
"Seatbelt."
He laughs, "Yes, ma'am."
"He's not hopeless after all."
He smiles at you, his lips pressing together.
"So, you know I have to ask you-" you start, he looks at you. "Your reputation is well known."
"Shit."
"Why are you trying so hard to get my attention when you can sleep with any woman in town?" You pause a beat, "Well, the ones you haven't already had."
His hand lands on his chest. "Ouch."
You shrug. "I'm not wrong. You've slept with at least three of my friends."
"Oh no, so you're already turned off of me. I'm sure they all hate my guts, am I right?"
"Indeed, they're not your biggest fans, but only with how you ditched them after one night. So is that what you're expecting? A night, then on to your next prize."
"I've never worked this hard to bed a woman, to be honest. You're different. It's not just a line. From the moment I saw you, it was just... different. Sleeping with you was not my initial thought." You toss him a look. "Ok, it was, but I liked your company, truly. That doesn't happen. Not to me anyway."
"And what if we never have sex?"
"Shameful."
You laugh, "Is it or am I saving myself the same fate as all those other women?"
"You make me sound like a slut."
You don't say anything as your eyes stick to the road.
"Hey!"
You laugh, genuinely and loudly. You see him smile from your peripheral. "I mean..." shrugging.
He playfully squeezes your knee, causing you to slightly jump with a squeal. "Driving here, you're trying to kill us both."
"At least the company wouldn't be half bad."
"For you."
"Are you always this sweet?"
"Never pretended I was."
"And yet I still enjoy your company, carino."
"So, have you always had bad taste then?"
"Breaks my heart, you selling yourself short."
"Or you just have too much faith in me." You pull in front of the house.
"Looks like you don't have enough, don't worry I'll get you there." He leans forward, kissing your cheek. "Thanks for the ride, next one's on me."
Before you could make a retort, he was out of the truck and walking the stone path. You watched him go inside before driving off, not holding back your smile anymore.
A few months later.
Every day, like clockwork, Javier came to your work, stayed till the end of your shift, and walked you to your truck. He flirted, made you laugh, and made you feel valuable in ways you haven't before. Today, you lingered outside your door. It was a look, a moment paused. One you've had before.
Tonight was different, the air between you was thicker, stealing yours. Something different flashed in his eyes tonight; it was asking permission. Permission for a chance, the nod you gave was so soft he would've missed it if he blinked. One large hand held the back of your neck as the other gripped your hip, pressing you into the door of your truck. Grounding him, telling him this wasn't another one of his fantasies. His lips found yours.
There were no fireworks, but a pull like two magnetic pieces pulling the other where it belonged, maybe where it's always belonged.
Javi tasted of cigarettes, whiskey, and something surprisingly sweet... Was that cherries?
"Fuck." Javi moaned against your jaw. "Why did it take us so long?"
"You had to earn it, guapo."
"Have I?"
"You're getting there," you smile, kissing him again, "God, you taste delicious."
"I bet I could say the same about you," Eyeing your body slowly.
Biting your lip. "Javier."
He let a slow breath out, looking down at you. "Yes?"
"Get in."
You laughed at the way he grinned before running and sliding across the hood. "Tonto."
He stood with his hand on the handle, grinning above the top. You got in and eagerly opened it. The ride to your place was faster tonight than on other nights. His hand does not leave your thigh, fingers leaving patterns on your thigh.
Once the front door closed behind you, he pinned you against it, hands and mouth everywhere. He lifted you as if you weighed nothing, your body hit a wall as both his hands gripped your ass, leaving hot kisses down your neck.
"Bedrooms to the left." You breathed between moans.
He gently set you down once in your room, clothes making soft thud sounds as they hit the floor. Javier never thought he'd be able to have the emotions; he was feeling. This was not like any other hookup. It was built on something beyond mere attraction. Something stronger, sturdy.
Friendship. Genuine friendship. The kind if you called, he'd be there. The kind where he can sit in his silence, and you would sit with him just so he knew he wasn't alone. With laughter and looks, BBQs with friends, and late-night talks on the phone.
Your back arched when his mouth found your center, tan broad shoulders pushing your thighs further apart. You grabbed and tossed his cap somewhere forgotten. Your hands find his hair. "Why do you hide these chocolate curls? You're beautiful, Javi." you moan, feeling his smile against your clit.
He doesn't speak, just eats like a deprived man. Fed off your body and pleasure.
"Javi?" He hums against you, "I need you in me now!"
He stood unbuckling his belt and yanking his blue jeans down in one swift motion, making the air exit your lungs. "You still want this hermosa?" a satisfied grin plastered on his face.
Your eyes trail back up to his face. "God, yes."
He laid over you, weight held up by his elbows, "I don't know about your God, but I promise I'll make this feel heaven even if this body is a sin."
Your breath hitched as he slowly entered you, allowing you time to adjust. You rock your hips, and he moves, rocking into you until sounds fill the room. Sounds causing him to quicken his speed. The sounds of his name, followed by breathy "mi buena chica" and sounds of two bodies colliding.
"te sientas como en casa," he speaks against your chest. Hands and mouth everywhere, making your skin buzz. "Come for me, sweet girl."
"Javi!" you cry out, as your thighs tremble and your eyes roll back.
"Fuuuuuck, you are perfect." he thrusts a few more times before following you to the heavens above.
He lay beside you, fingers kissing your clavicle. "So, how bout a real date?"
You can't help but laugh. "Ah, Javi," you laugh, covering your face with your hands. "This is beyond going on a date."
"Yeah, it is, but it's a start."
"I'd like that."
And then he smiled, and you knew you were a goner.
