Let me reiterate my firearm stances. 3/30/23

I used to debate gun control, my blog has countless sources ingrained into it, pie charts line charts the works. I don't have time to pull up every fucking source for the same damn argument over and over again as I've done for a decade on this hellsite. The people who want gun control have no clue on how the world works and view things through a fabricated lens brought to them through media and politicians that want to abuse them and at worse kill them.

I am a live, let live type of person. You don't fuck with my way of life I don't fuck with yours. I don't dox people and I certainly don't threaten people but if they threaten me they can certainly try, but they won't have the balls to do it themselves. They'll toss their neighbors to the wolves to save themselves for a moment of laxity. They'll tell men with guns to go take others guns and deprive them of their rights.

My mutuals are always free to message me, and are always free to give me advice or tell me if I've gone to far. Someone saying they don't care about my stances on Anon doesn't mean shit.

Respect is earned. I don't owe anyone anything other than mutual non-aggression.

Altama Maritime Assault boots don't hold up in the rigorous Mojave but I don't think they were supposed to. $110 is high to me. They were very comfortable.

I had been looking at those and I’m glad I didn’t buy em. Also, I get the reason behind the drain holes for naval operators but it rains too fuckin much in Oregon to have colander boots.

I'm not gonna say they're a bad boot, and the drain holes did work great, but I had so much cactus and other shit poke holes through the drain holes that it just became one gigantic hole. And so, the terrain I'm going in is really harsh on shoes, because it's all like sandstone and coral stone and drifting sand and stuff. So I would assume that it would be like walking on rough beaches, but I also have probably put a few thousand miles on my shoes since I bought them last year, just with how much I walk around at work and everywhere else. So, I think I probably did like three or four years' worth of wear in one, and they just weren't designed for that. But yeah, I would go for something else instead of them. Y'all get more rain in a month than we do in a year.

Fellow Fremen here. I have a pair. The amount of vegetation that can come in to them is amazing. Very bad in moon dust also. Mine have held up ok, but I use them mostly for my trips in to town. My drain holes are wearing out.

They’re meant for the water and they kinda failed to make a land based version. Very cool and drippy but $110 is steep for sneakers. But they’re made in the USA so you know I’m in.

I’ll pick up another pair for when these wear out. Great “in town” sneaker.

For me tho I’m using Kenetrek Desert boots or Chaco sandals lately. Just picked up a pair of gaiters to keep stuff out of the boots.

Hey do y’all remember when Boeing fucking killed a guy last year. And we all said “huh I guess Boeing fucking killed a guy” and then went on with our lives. And everybody knew that Boeing had fully just fucking executed a guy and nothing came of it. Like there was no police investigation no justice no nothing. So for those who are, very understandably uninitiated on this story:

On 23 October last year (2024) the New York Times published an interview with former OpenAI researcher Suchir Balaji who worked on organising and gathering data for OpenAI until 2022 when he begun thinking about the morality of it. He eventually came to the conclusion that what OpenAI is doing blatantly violates copyright law and decided to leave the company altogether in August 2024.

After he came out with this accusation he was set to appear in court to testify against OpenAI’s data-gathering practices, something which had the potential of being a complete disaster for the company and the generative AI industry as a whole.

That was until 26 November, just days before he was due to appear in court, when he suddenly and mysteriously was found dead inside his own apartment. Investigators concluded that the death was self-inflicted, something which his family has disputed.

There was also “sign of struggle in the bathroom and looks like someone hit him in the bathroom based on blood spots”, and his apartment showed signs of having been ransacked for evidence: “The pin drive is missing. His computer was messed up.”.

Overall it feels pretty clear-cut what happened, that is to say that OpenAI had him killed because he was a legitimate threat to their business, indicating that they are fully aware that the way they’re gathering data is completely illegal.
