i'm a gemini yet i have social anxiety and find it difficult speaking in front of large groups of people. However I love speaking as long as i know them... is this weird for a gemini?

not really. i actually dont think many people are fond of speaking infront of big crowds, or people they dont know, but those are also fears that you tend to overcome with age anyway, once you realize people are too busy in their own minds to take any notice of you… 

Gemini are a talkative sign, and the sign of teachers, traditionally good at public speaking or just getting their message across, but I suspect this is something that you will overcome. Apart from that Im not really sure how to answer. Check your mercury too, it could have something to do with that. Remember sun signs dont come out fully until early 20’s.
