Did Vince groom Skarra?

•Grooming is taking advantage of a somewhat vulnerable person by gaining their trust over time and breaking their boundaries, most of the time this happens between a young person and someone older, more mature than them.Grooming isn't necessarily sexual and it can happen to someone at any age.

Here is my point: Starting with Rookie Season, we know Skarra really wanted to be a strika and we watch him not able to do so. He is a 17 year old teenager, who has his dreams crushed. He also has no one to support him after everything that happened- This puts him in a very vulnerable position but he is given the chance to be in the team that opposes Supa Strikas; Invincible United. Just as important as the Strikas are. He's taken in the team none other than Vince, who is also his uncle now alongside his coach, making Vince the adult who's gonna play a role in his life from now on. This is the first step to gaining Skarra's trust, someone related to him, someone he has a familiar relation with helping him achieve a big goal. Grooming between family members isn't uncommon as the perpetrator would happen to be more trustworthy in this case as they're blood related.

Now back to the original show,we can tell some years have passed meaning this would go on for a while now. Vince actively uses Skarra to do his dirty deeds for him and demeans him constantly as we can see, Skarra does what he's told and he's scared of Vince due to being verbally (and probably physically) abused. But at the end of the day, I'm sure we can say Vince is the only person Skarra relies on as he has no strong bond with his teammates,he doesn't have friends outside the league and his hateful behaviour also causes other people in the league not like him. He doesn't have anything else to do other than listen to his uncle, his coach at the end of the day.

What I'm trying to say is Vince took his young nephew under his wing, granting his dream of playing soccer in the SL and gaining his trust as his relative- gradually getting him to be isolated from any healthy connection possible and eventually having him be someone who listens to him no matter what kind of thing it is, putting Skarra in a horrible situation with no escape. He doesn't have anyone to turn to, the reason he's not struggling economically and living by himself instead of 2 unemployed adults is that he's in this team, he can't leave all this behind just like that.

So my answer is yes, Skarra is a victim of emotional grooming by Vince.

again not hating or anything i ain’t trying to be all toxic bc in all honesty i don’t really gaf anymore i js am trying to clear what i said. i’m well aware a lot of my rants get lost in translation bc of my unwillingness to read over and properly explain stuff. but i was specifically referring to the scene in the anime in like i think the second season when he’s on campus grounds during day class hours. you can see yuki is very iffy around him and actively trying to distance herself from kaname. from what i remember she actively tried to distance herself multiple times prior to rido like attacking and her reverting back into a vampire. yes even tho yuki stays around she’s not all happy go lucky doesn’t gaf about the shit kaname does anymore. her first pages and scenes, she doesn’t think much about what kaname does bc he’s so ‘far away and their lives aren’t supposed to touch’ i personally seen her actions as not hostile but iffy. — hostile and every other word i used was probably not the proper wording but it was the first thing in mind while i was typing it out. — i remember seeing that grow more and more until she ended her shit. but yeah that was specifically what i was referencing.

and bitches will hate on yuki cross more than they will kaname kuran. they intentionally ignore the FACT that yuki cross was groomed into loving kaname. they will intentionally ignore yuki developing hate for kaname. and then use the excuse of zero and yuki being “adopted” to hate their not so toxic relationship.

again zero was so distant with yuki that even IF yuki wanted to see him as her brother it would not have made sense to either of them. she uses brother in place of love BECAUSE she was groomed into believing kaname kuran was the only man she could ever love. she was always in love with zero but because kaname kuran manipulated her for as long as she could possibly remember her ROMANTIC love for zero was twisted into being ‘platonic sibling’ love. zero was very clear he was NOT the son of kaien cross and he’d never accept kaien as anything other than a legal guardian. legal guardian ≠ parent big difference.

zero was disgusted with kaname not only because he was a vampire but because he seen through kanames intentions of keeping yuki close but far enough away. he knew there was something more but he didn’t know what until it was too late.

zero’s manipulation was to prevent yuki from realizing her love for him was never platonic. he knew her love was romantic and he knew he was in love with her. he was also aware that if their life stayed the way they both intended it would make it extremely difficult for them to develop a proper relationship. yuki was very sympathetic towards vampires, while down to his core, zero was always bred to be a vampire hunter. he was always going to go against yuki because his bloodline and because of his hate for shizuka and the vampire that took out yagaris eye. a rift like that in a romantic relationship would have ended badly. zero went along with kaname BECAUSE kaname held everything in his hands. as quickly as he could give yuki up he could easily take her away from zero forever.

kaname on the other hand was fully aware of who yuki was from her birth. the kuran bloodline is the most “pure” but is insanely inbred. because juri and haruka kept kaname he was able to get approval of AN infant’s marriage. yuki was still a baby when kaname said she was set to be his wife. then rido did what he did and juri sealed yukis memories. for 11-12 full years kaname groomed yuki. he manipulated her and erased her memories constantly when it didn’t benefit him. he used her ‘love’ against her to keep her close.

you don’t even have to read the manga to see that yuki cross was developing something against kaname. when she started realizing he was using zero for his personal gain she started to hate him and grow more distant. BUT she was again groomed by him as a child and he was able to control her. when she reverts back into a vampire the memories of juri and haruka PROMISING her to kaname. she was under the impression that it was what she HAD to do. she had no choice in the matter. knowing full well their relationship was wrong and disgusting, she expressed it was something “only monsters would do” yuki felt like she had no choice in her relationships. it took her centuries to begin to think for herself and all of it happened after zero died.

say what you want. kaname kuran is disgusting his relationship and control over yuki was disgusting and their relationship was not genuine. she developed a type of stockholm syndrome with kaname. yuki would’ve been better off alone because zero was not perfect but he was not as bad as kaname. their relationship was very very deep and had more than just “siblings or dating” because that doesn’t scratch the surface of what their relationship was because it had nothing to do with it.
