Jonah is the New York ripper bro MARK MY WORDS
100% best and most logical plot. It immediately gave me a flashback of that hammer trinity would use and the fact that Jonah worked in a hardware store and worked on construction with his father. He also killed his mother in rage.
Wait til Harrison finds out it's the son of the man who killed his mom. I think if we're right they'll make it so he'll debate and try to catch him via the law and fight his urge to kill him brutally. That's gonna be a brutaaaal storyline and I think they'll give it to us. I also think Harry will give way to Brian as Dexter's mental sidekick, when he finds out he should have killed jonah when he had the chance, instead of pitying him, same way he let go of trinity when he had the chance. That rage is gonna make him spiral.
I soo hope we're right š„²š„²
Oh my god thissss!! Also not only the hammer but the hook!! Dexter in the lecture hall analysing the blood spatter and he said it was an object with a hook!! He already knew this because he saw it in Praterās vault but am I the only one who got flashbacks to when Jonah tried to attack him?? He had the same hook in his hand as he was showing the guy at the hardware store. Itās not the same hook since the one in trophy vault is longer but it 100% lines up.
I kept listening to the voice recording over and over and I feel like it could vaguely sound like Jonah?? Iām not sure what his exact motive would be but I think this is him trying to feel some sort of control around his sisterās death. He couldnāt stop it so heās taking control in the only way he knows how. Also the hook being longer could be linked to how he killed his mother with a longer object. That fact mixed with the little hook from the hardware store? Makes the weapon in the trophy vault if you ask me.
Yess, thisss. I feel like after all this we need a villian we can REALLY HATE DEEPLY like we hated trinity. Whats better than his son? It would totally keep the audience for the rest of the 3 seasons if they keep chasing him together.
And he would embody that perfectly and continue the theme of passed down sociopathy and trauma. But didnt he push his mother down the stairs or did I remember that wrong? When did they say he used a long object?
I too feel like the calls to the family telling them how helpless and stuck the victims were are pointing towards that same idea- that he hated his family for being helpless against their father and thats why he punished them.
What do you think about the other fans saying it can't be him because the investigator said she has been hunting him since the start of her career? I feel like that still leaves room for it to be him...
3 seasons of chasing Jonah would be absolutely phenomenal but I have a feeling that the writers will probably keep the old format of the show with a little twist? The first couple seasons weād get the antagonist of that season on the kill table right at the very end and I think theyāll still try to capture that essence. They definitely wonāt be getting the NY ripper at the end of this season, I have a feeling we will get a reveal this season and the end of the next season we will get a showdown!!
As for Jonah killing his mother, Iām pretty sure he stood above his mother just high enough on the stairs for him to be around Arthurās height. I canāt remember if he hit her before or after she fell/was pushed down the stairs but Dexter found that blood spatter on the ceiling from where Jonah hit his mother and swung the object back, leaving the spatter. Somethings telling me it was a hockey stick?? But I canāt remember exactly. Iāll have to fact check that.
As for others saying it canāt be him, I still think it could be. Iām not sure if itās stated in the show how long sheās been working this case exactly but itās been a CONSIDERABLE amount of time since Dexter last saw him.
Harrison was still just a toddler when Jonah found his sister and killed his mother (This was the same season Harrison started preschool/ got taken to the rooftop by the Doomsday killer). Dexter left him with Jaime (if Iām not wrong) while he went on his little road trip all the way to Jonah. I think at least a solid 15 years in the timeline have passed since their meeting. That gives Jonah plenty of time to relocate to New York and start killing, especially if he just decided to up and leave Nebraska straight after Dexter spared him.
This has aged like milk considering who just got cast š„š„ HOWEVER huge win I love Brian Cox
