yknow... in the vein of taddls desire to leave possibly being part of the programming to get everyone out of the way (<- theory me & khai talked about at some point), I wonder how much of manus attachment to the island is programmed into him too

like, of course he cares about his friends & feels responsible for them to some degree. but I think its possible that, as the master, hes programmed to never be able to/truly want to leave the island, because the system needs him to stay & become the master for the next generation. the integrity of his character doesnt matter as much now that hes no longer a clasher, no longer one of the protagonists (whose character development is what the community really wants to see), at least from the perspective of the system
