as much as everyone loves "the power of love won't save us, we need the power of incredible violence" i'm sorry to rain on your parade but we've actually tried that about ten million times as a species, and you'll be shocked to hear the power of incredible violence, without the power of love behind it, is just brutality. the power of incredible violence has been ruling (various parts of, and then the entire) world for the past 5,000 years. ours is not that damn special.
like yes use that gun you found but WHY are you using it? on who are you using it? what would make you stop using it? is your goal to live in a world where every problem is solved by violence, or is your goal to do the violence necessary to live in a world where that necessity is unthinkable?
If you heard "Batman has four sons", you'd be forgiven for thinking that each of those sons has three brothers. But that's a rookie mistake. Dick is the only one of them who actually has three brothers, and that's because he put in the work for it, thank you very much. Jason has one brother (Dick), and two kids that his dad had after he moved out (Tim and Damian). Damian actually ping pongs between acknowledging Tim and Jason as his brothers, and thinking they don't count because they're not related to him, but regardless of how he feels about those two he is always related to Dick, Dick just isn't always his brother. So Damian can vary wildly from having three brothers to two brothers to zero brothers.
Tim is literally only brothers to Dick. The other two are his annoying coworkers.
Tim is the only one who has a sister. Cassandra Cain was adopted before he was and they spent time together as batgirl and robin and as themselves, even living together in Bludhaven for a while.
Dick knows Cassandra as Barbara's protege and kinda loses touch with her whenever he and Babs are broken up. Jason and she are almost never working in the same area and never together. She moved out of Gotham around the same time Damian moved in. There is more connections between Duke and Cassandra in recent years because of the Outsiders, but (I haven't read it, forgive me if my take on it is really wrong, but it seemed like) that's kinda a workplace friend dynamic?

I'll throw in the wonderful Eizin Suzuki into this ring too, a man whose work just breathes light without actually using dynamic lighting in the usual way. It's no surprise both Nagai and Suzuki are both considered prolific in art pertaining to the city pop genre because they're able to paint these kinds of scenes with a delicate touch.
This feels like I could trip on that radio and fall right into that water, feeling the crystal waves as I drop in.
And this, a nice stroll down a resort strip, where my sunscreened skin could literally feel cooked if I leaned too close to the tiling.
And then a nice stretch of summer street, wherein you could see your face in the flushed red of that car provided it didn't blind you from its sunny reflections.
I don't think I even need to say anything more, Suzuki's a massive influence in how he even places colours so warmly in such unorthodox manner. It's a naturally sunkissed talent~ 🌊
If you think what you're writing is above your skill level, do it anyway. You might surprise yourself in what you are able to do, and even if you don't, the experience is worth it. Write, and write, and write some more. You can always re-write it when your skill increases. But your skill level will never increase if you don't challenge yourself and above all else-- write.
There are four categories of people you will meet: Underlings, superiors, rivals, and love interests. One of my underlings has been attempting to convince me of the existence of a fifth category, "friend", which appears to have no purpose. I suspect it is a ploy to get out of performing her duties.
