Funniest part of Magic the Gathering lore is the plane where vampires are evil Catholics, and they finally find and revive Vampire Jesus (who is a woman). In Colombia, the cases of domestic gender-based violence rose by between 38% and 25% when the national team played in both the 2014 Brazil World Cup and the 2018 in Russia. The cases rose by 50% during the 2015 America Cup.

In Mexico, there's a common phrase that says "if my team loses, my family loses" (si pierde mi equipo, pierde mi familia) precisely as a reference to how violence against women and children is normalized when the husband/father is in a bad mood.

I'm sure it's not unique to these countries, they've just been the ones who have bothered to register it and make it public.

This house was built between 1901 and 1908 following the design of the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, one of the most admired architects of the Catalan Modernist style (Catalonia's equivalent of art nouveau but with a strong element of revival of Catalan culture's traditional jobs, crafts and symbolism).

The painted tiles on the walls are a reference to two moments of Catalan history. One of them represents the ships led by the king James I to conquer Mallorca in 1229. The other one represents an idealized view of the Greek city of Thessalokini, which can also be a reference to the close relations between Catalonia and Greece in the Middle Ages.

If you've ever heard a movie score and thought "holy shit, this is incredible", there's like, a 50% chance it was Hans Zimmer who composed it.

Anyway shoutout to John Williams, amazing composer and probably the one who made the other 50% of "holy shit amazing" soundtracks (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, and incidentally the original Harry Potter theme and score) who famously worked closely with the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Angela Morley. He respected her, and so far as I can see, has never made transphobic remarks.
