"they live for each other." anne-marie mitchell (2007)
rebecca black was right. It’s Friday

girl dinner. fattest fucking plate of pasta you've ever seen in your life
"that character can't be trans fem because we need rep for boys who are feminine" and "these characters can't be gay because we need rep for healthy male friendship" are the same mindset of hyperfocusing on fan response instead of actual text. where are all the trans fem characters with detailed self-acceptance arcs??? where are all the gay couples with focused plot build-up, especially in genres considered "masculine" like action??? in addition to prioritizing cishet sensibilities with a thin progressive veil, it's just a nonsensical thing to say because the representation being defended is more common than the representation being derided as "actually following gender roles tbh."
White Fear has always been funny (ironic) to me. It's like, imagine a white person walking in the room, perpetually paranoid of everyone of Color around them, of being The Murderer because "look how strange they're all acting around me, they must be suspicious. And yet, THEY'RE the one covered in blood and holding the knife, the body count number floating over their head.
Like, Buddy, yeah we're acting weird, YOU'RE the one that WE gotta be worried about 😭. I'm scared of YOU.
To use a US specific example, it's like how there's so much fearmongering of being victims of Black and Latino men with guns and gun violence, a violence that white people usually don't even experience because they're not even in the same spaces.
But the demographic most likely to be a domestic terrorist, the mass shooters, the ones that find diverse places and murder people... Are white men. When I go to the store, to church, to work, to the movies, to school, the odds that the person who will walk in and decide to Let Fly is a white man! That's something we have to keep in our minds every day!
But somehow this has not made everyone that "matters" (I.e., other white people) deathly afraid of white men, despite actually, statistically fitting the mold, in comparison to the heightened stereotype of Black and Latino men being gun wielding thugs. Goes to show the power and projection of white supremacy.
On principle, if I am in a space and I see a white man with a backpack, I go to another space.
The thing is i feel like the majority of white ppl know that theyre the murderer. They know theyve got blood on their hands, either from their own actions or from the actions of other white ppl that they condoned. Theyre apathetic to violence committed against other races so they assume everyone else feels the same way which is why the project so much. The fear justifies the violence which justifies the fear which justifies the violence and so on so forth.
When white ppl go out in public theyre not looking for the person who's poses the most danger to them, they're looking for a person who they can endanger with little to no consequences. Im thinking of all those "karen" videos where a white person is approaching, following, or even explicitly chasing a black person while on the phone with the police making up some story abt how theyre being attacked by a big scary black person. So that when the police get there they see a anxious and/or aggravated black person who they can victim blame for any violence that follows.
White ppl in these situations know that they are not in any physical danger. Which is why they feel so comfortable getting in Black ppls faces, knocking on car windows, or even physically harassing ppl. I've been hear a lot of ppl encourage Black women especially to arm themselves bcuz of the current political climate. But on top of the fact that owning a gun poses a danger to you more than anyone else, white ppl who want to see you be hurt know that the US Justice system is baised in their favor. They know that a Black person is running the risk of being killed or imprisoned simply for having gun (or even just a white person thinking they have a gun). Im still thinking about Rihanna Kelver who had literally been knocked to the ground and was on her back with 3 men standing over her when she pulled out her gun. She didn't even fire it, in fact none of her assailants even pressed charges and she's still facing up to 15 years for simply taking it out of her purse. Even though Wyoming, where this happened, is a stand your ground and open carry state but ofc that means nothing when your Black. Ive just been hearing a lot of ppl talk like a gun guarantees your safety when it actually just gives you a new set of problems.
White American dont "love" an underdog, they love to be the underdog or at least to be seen as one. Which is why they can believe theyre the supreme master race while still constantly positioning themselves as the victim.
I'm at the point where I refuse to believe that white ppl are unaware of the threat they pose or that theyre genuinely "scared" of Black ppl. Their ignorance and obliviousness is strategic if not completely fabricated.
The fear is just the set up. Its the premise for the violence about to be committed.
you are not a "femcel" you are not a "foid" you are not a "hon" you are a woman worthy of respect and taking up space and being happy and the world is yours for the taking you're ALIVE!!!!!!!!! you're a HUMAN!!!!!!! FUCK what they told you!!!!!!
i really thought the point of "being lgbt+ doesn't absolve you of racism as a white person" was that white people arent absolved of racism by being marginalized but it really seems like people think other marginalizations make it okay. no being disabled doesn't do it. no being poor doesnt do it. we need to fight against racism actively no matter what.
It's actually super unethical to keep a peeve as a pet
Shoutout to all the trans girls out there who were forced to live as miserable boys during the 2000’s or 2010’s, missing out on all the weird sparkledog scene rawr xd era and who are now gloriously reclaiming this time in their adulthood. All power to you. Be blessed now and forever, colorful creatures. Go outshine god.

there’s a notion I’ve seen people spread that I don’t like when it comes to deltarune human designs ( I don’t think it’s wrong to see the monsters as white bc I sure do for a few of them ). but when people hc characters as black ( say specifically Noelle + berdly ) people jump to “oh! Well Noelle can’t be black, she’s a corny preppy rich girl!” “Berdly can’t be black, he’s and annoying nerd.” What makes you think black people cant act like this 😭
Do you think being rich and living in the suburbs + being nerdy and corny is white exclusive traits 😭 do you think being silly or geeky or dainty and soft are traits black people cant have 😭 like it really shows that people think of certain personalities as “white default” and if a black person acts that way its unrealistic . I think you need to unpack what you think a black person should behave like for you to think this way 😭😭😭😭
