👇 You NEED to read this if you want to visit Yosemite! 👇 ⛺ As we’ve explained in our last post, visiting Yosemite usually means hoping to get lucky by reserving a spot on a campground for your desired travel dates. If you don’t want Yosemite’s easy new LOTTERY (check out our last post for details!) to be your only chance, we’re here to help! 🤗 👉 YOSEMITE CAMPGROUNDS 🏕️ Yosemite is host to 13 popular campgrounds that are accessible without special permits, with four of them located inside the valley. 💰 Campground daily fees vary between $10 per person or $20-36 per campsite. While some of those campgrounds are on a first-come, first-served basis (more on that in a future post), 9 of them take part in Yosemite’s campground reservation system. Reservations are ESSENTIAL in Yosemite, especially during high-season from May to September. 🚫 There's no wild car camping allowed anywhere inside Yosemite! 👉 THE RESERVATION SYSTEM 🗓️ Campground reservations become available as a monthly block up to 5 months in advance, at 7 am PCT on the 15th of each month. So, for example, on January 15, camping spots for May 15 to June 14 become available for reservation. ⏱ Campgrounds in Yosemite Valley are so popular that all camping spots are typically gone in a matter of seconds. 👇 You NEED to read this if you want to visit YOSEMITE in 2022! 👇 💸 If you don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars even on the most affordable lodging options in Yosemite, a spot in one of the many campgrounds is what you’ll be looking for. 🏕️ You may have heard already that camping spots in Yosemite are quite hard to get – as soon as they become available, it can be a matter of seconds before they’re booked up! ⏱ To improve fairness and raise the chances of getting a spot (especially during high season), Yosemite National Park has introduced a new system for 2022 – the early access lottery! 🤩 👉 HOW THE LOTTERY WORKS 🗓️ The lottery is open between Jan 18 (7 am PST) and Feb 6 (8 pm PST). 640 applicants will get early access to reserve a spot in North Pines Campground (inside the valley) during high season (Jul 21 – Sep 14). The only downside is a 10$ non-refundable lottery fee. 🏞️ Yosemite is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but it also played a crucial role in protecting land all over the world!
