for the record, lev being in love with eve wasnāt part of the original plan
Me, imagining a scene in my head: beautiful poetic prose that gracefully and artfully describes the scene in vivid detail, giving the reader concise imagery and beautiful wordplay to ruminate on.
Me, actually writing: The angry man throwed his chair through the window angrily and bigly. "I'm angry and pissed off." He said because he was mad.
Ending is sad: ouch
Ending is happy: nice
Ending is bittersweet: I'm going to think about this every day for the rest of my life

sometimes i remember the vibes of eve, age 13, standing over the body of her father, dress spattered with red and breaths coming quick... eve mechanically washing the knife off, head ringing, water pitched low as if to hear any footsteps coming down the hall... eve fleeing to her motherās wardrobe and pulling on the first coat she sees even though she literally lives in the middle of the desert and has no use for it, only so she can finally shrug off the feeling of dominicās eyes staring her down hungrily, swallowing her whole .... eve breaking down because sheās just 13, sheās just 13 and thatās too young to kill your father and be all alone and have to fend for yourself .... eveās breakdown being interrupted by his smooth, oily voice telling her ānow, maria. stand up. wipe those tears away. this is all your own doing, what do you have to cry for?ā ...... eve finding out her powers through the murder of the one man she hoped to never see again........ eve still trying to separate herself from him by shunning her given name and taking on her own, eve, eve wonāt bow down to anyone or let this happen again, eve doesnāt need her father behind her to be strong...... eve killing the people she knows no one will miss to strengthen her magic, and forcing down any twinge of horror.... eve taking in egg to hide the ruin she leaves behind....
eve tossing her fatherās rotting corpse out on the streets where all the world can see, and hoping itās enough to keep it at bay.
So like⦠is she tokyo cyberpunk or seattle cyberpunk?
Tokyo Cyberpunk: Emphasizes human relationship to technology, identity, psychological transhumanism, and the human-as-resource. In Tokyo Cyberpunk - Capitalism wants to own you.
Seattle Cyberpunk: Emphasizes class analysis through technology disparity, physical transhumanism, and the disposability of humans. In Seattle Cyberpunk - Capitalism wants you gone.
Aesthetically speakingā¦
Tokyo Cyberpunk showcases nightlife where clean streets are illuminated by neon signs tempting you into consumerism as a therapy for your alienation. Itās percieved cleanliness acts as a symbol where corporations justify their rulership through the illusion of social progress. The robot is friendly, companionable. Societal problems and capitalist contradiction are silenced and swept away without the common person knowing.
Seattle Cyberpunk showcases a nightlife of homelessness and decay with corporate monoliths on the horizon. The streetlights no longer work, but the darkness is kept partially at bay by the neon tubes of bars where people watch wishes of their youth vanish at the bottom of the bottle. The lucky ones working for the corporations do so with the fear they will be kicked to the street. The robot is an expression of force intended to keep the common person afraid. Corporations do not try to justify their rulership, social problems and contradiction are solved with force.
Whenever media wants to emphasise how extreme a characterās off-brand drug use is, they always just name-drop a big animal, like āoh, he takes horse tranquilisersā. If you really want to get the point across, I think you should go with an unexpected animal instead. Like, that powder heās snorting? Its only approved use is treating sexual dysfunction in burrowing owls. We have no idea what itās doing to him, but it canāt be anything good.
i love pantsing. i love having no idea what the fuck is going onĀ

FASHION IN FILM ⤠CROWNS / HEADPIECES š
the inherent nonbinaryism of being an eccentric or mad scientist
the gender euphoria of a lab coat and rubber gloves, the gender euphoria of wild, untamed hair, the gender euphoria of giant goggles that might have swirl patterns on them, the gender euphoria of injecting yourself with various glowing green liquids
The road wasnāt that long, and I knew Iād be getting off soon.Ā But at that moment, I felt such warmth.
