One time my four year old cousin wanted to play cops and robbers. I was a robber that she caught so naturally I started going on about how I was framed and wanted a lawyer. She ran inside (where my mom and her mom is) and pretended that she was on the phone with my lawyer and said "Hello? Is this (my name)'s lawyer? Well She's in jail, come get her!" I only know this because our moms came out to see what was going on

A little bit of history: it's actually been 8 years since russia first invaded our country. But for the last years it was getting more and more quiet. And now BOOM again

Many people evacuated from the destroyed by war cities in 2014 and some still live there even though they support Ukraine. It's hard to leave your home. So it's emotionally different for everyone. There was a joke that people from Kyiv worry more than people from Eastern Ukraine. Because they have experienced a similar thing in 2014 and now they're more prepared than ever before.

Personally, I'm panicking from time to time, because, yup, it's stressful. Most people don't really speak about the war and evacuation because it's scary. But I feel like everyone's trying to be prepared for the evacuation or fighting. Every night does feel like a last one, after all.

Since the beginning of the war, our people have been giving money to military charity. One of the most famous military charities is "Return alive" (Povernysya zhivim). Many Ukrainians donate here every month. Here is a link for Facebook page of the charity, let me know if it translates to English or if i should make a post with translation:

There is also a charity that helps military. Yana Zinkevych, a Ukrainian politician and a commander of the Hospitallers Medical Battalion, leads this charity. In 2015 she was paralyzed during a mission and since then she has been using a wheelchair. She has personally saved more than 200 soldiers and she's awesome.

I tried to write about the charities that Ukrainians trust in. They are famous, they have been trusted by people all these years, so as far as I am concerned, they can be trusted.

After refusing a ceasefire 5 times and killing hundreds of innocent civilians (including children) and bombing everything from homes, schools, refugee camps, factories, hospitals, farms, ministries and international media offices to the ground, Israel has finally agreed to a ceasefire.

But not because they agreed to one that doesn’t mean the damage to both Gaza’s infrastructure and its people has been undone, various war crimes and human-rights violations has been committed without consequences and excluding all the dead and the injured, there are currently 90,000 Palestinians that are displaced as a result of the 11 days of Israeli strikes (not to mention that Israel has a history of breaking truces, so this ceasefire might not even last)

So don’t stop protesting and spreading awareness/informations, Israel’s brutal blockade on Gaza is still on-going and Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah are still under the threat of being kicked out of their own homes (the thing that outset all of this) to be replaced with Israeli settlers, Palestine-related content is still being censored on social media, Western media is still not accurately reporting on what’s happening, Israeli lynching mobs are still roaming and are still attacking, beating and killing any Palestinian they see, the Israeli police/army are still allowing these mobs to do whatever they want without stopping them, in fact the Israeli police/army are still joining in the fun and taking parts of these mobs that target unarmed Palestinians civilians even if it was in public, but most importantly the US still refuses to condemn all that Israel has done and they still blindly support them.

While this ceasefire may be good news for all the families in Gaza, it still doesn’t change the fact that the violence and the state-sponsored terrorism against the Palestinians is still going on, so keep on protesting, keep on contacting your representatives/government, keep on learning, keep on spreading awareness and keep on boycotting, because as far as we know this ceasefire might have only happened because of all of our efforts.

Okay so Palestine is a country in the middle East which has been inhabitated by Muslim, Christian and Jewish Palestinians for generations. In 1948, Zionists forced about half of the indigenous population out of their homes in “The Catastrophe” to establish Israel. They’ve been forcing people out of their homes and killing people, even children during the holy month of Ramadan, a very important time for Muslims, they attacked the Al-Aqsa masjid, where people were just praying, shot bullets and tear gas at them. They’re forcing people out of their homes in Sheikh Jarrah and they’re bombing Gaza, where 21 have been killed, out of which 10 were children. This is no longer a political issue, this is a humanitarian issue, human rights are being violated, this is ethnic cleansing. It’s not about religion, it’s about land, colonialism and apartheid. Palestine has Jews, Muslims and Christians. Awareness needs to be spread because a lot of misinformation is being circulated, most of which is propaganda to make Israel appear in a better light, to hide their crimes.

Now this is not up for discussion if you don’t agree with me, fine, but no clowning on this post. Israel is doing this, no matter how hard you try to deny it. More awareness needs to be spread about this

I get so angry hearing and reading about what's happening in Palestine right now. I don't even know what to do and it all feels hopeless 😔

The situation around Sheikh Jarrah should make everyone angry. For those of you who might not know what’ going on here’s a brief breakdown:

Indigenous Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah, for a very long time, have been fighting lengthy legal battles in Israeli courts against eviction orders which aim to replace these indigenous people with illegal Israeli settlers. 

On May 7th, the illegal Israeli settlers along with courts (an apparatus of Israel’s apartheid regime) have started a campaign to illegally take over the home’s of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah. These families were given until today (May 10th, 2021) to “reach an agreement” with the occupiers. This obviously prompted protests. The IDF has also brutally responded to these protests. Now the world is watching and global protests have started happening.

Some important things to note:

-Sheikh Jarrah belongs to the Palestinian families. It is part of the occupied Palestinian territory, and therefore any Israeli settler presence in it amounts to a war crime under international law. 

-There has been a mountain of UN Security Council resolutions demanding that Israel withdraw from East Jerusalem which Israel continues to ignore.

-This is ethnic cleansing

I know you feel hopeless but here’s what we can do:

-Support BDS (Boycott, Divestments, Sanctions) movements (What”s BDS?) Boycott Israeli products from their colonial settlements

-Understand whats happening in Palestine and the crimes of apartheid/persecution being committed by Israel. (Check out this great report by HRW on the situation) After getting an understanding. SPREAD AWARENESS. Especially in the US. This is key to combatting Evangelical propaganda and Israeli lobbyists. Do this through social media.

-Contact your local reps and pressure them to stop giving Israel military funding or any form of financial support. Fight against zionist lobbyists such as AIPAC or Christians United for Israel.

-Donate if you can. Here’s a few links. If you can add more (reputable) donation links to this, I ask that you please do.

A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.

There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.

There is no plan.

Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.

Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.

We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.

This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.

We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.

People are dying.

More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.

My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.

Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.

But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.

She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.
