My little sister is 11 and she likes to come into my room a lot and hang out with me, but sometimes when she comes in I’m in an introverted or depressed mood and don’t want to talk to anyone. Tonight she came in and said that my room was too quiet, so I told her to go listen to music or something because I didn’t really feel like talking. She sat there quietly for a couple of seconds and then she said, “I’m gonna tell you what happened in gym class today because it was really annoying, but you don’t have to talk back.” And she just started talking about her day to me and I don’t think enough people understand how helpful that is to someone who’s depressed. To be there with them and talk to them without expecting them to engage in conversation. It’s a way to be alone without feeling completely lonely and I think everyone who deals with depression or any other mental illness needs someone like my sister to understand that, and to interact with the people they care about based on their state of mind.

I honestly did not expect to get any notes on that post I made. I didn’t even tag it as “fairy tail” or anything like that, because I didn’t even want notes. I wrote exactly what happened in class, I didn’t have a reason to lie.

I try to be a good person, on here and in real life. I genuinely love to be friends with all of my followers, and as long as you’re a mostly anime blog or you ask me to, I follow back. I think all of my followers are cooler than me, but I still try to be your friends anyway. I try to be as nice as I can, and help people with anything as long as I have the ability to do so. I really try not to come across mean or “too cool” or anything like that.

I’m glad I’m like that, though, because I actually established friendships with you guys. And when I need you, like I did today, you were there for me. I’m not going to lie to you guys, when that person called me a liar I cried. And ruined my makeup but that’s not the point. The point is, I’m an emotional wreck and I can’t believe I cried over something someone behind a computer said. But the bigger point is, I was super upset. Reading all of the positive messages sent to me, and the replies, and the people who reblogged the post from me again just to encourage me, that helped me feel better. Thank you all so much.

I just got home from a party where I danced my ASS OFF! They played Shake It Off, and I’m telling you, I’m a dancer, but I never danced like that before. I literally thought, “You know what? If people think I’m a liar, so what! I’m just gonna shake it off!” And I did. And it felt amazing.

I want to say that one of the people who commented on my post did send me an apology. I accepted it, and sent my own apology back, and I’m hoping there’s no hard feelings. The other person has not said a single word to me, but I was made aware that they deleted the post off of their blog. So I’m very thankful for that, and I forgive them for calling me a liar, even if they didn’t ask for or want my forgiveness.

What’s funny is that I just had a conversation about how much I love the FT fandom. I talked about how warm and welcoming we are, and how we’re just like one huge family. I felt accepted and welcomed into this fandom. I felt safe here. Having that person call me a liar was the worst wake-up call I’ve ever had. And honestly, I’m not sure if I’ll ever feel as carefree in this fandom again.

But I will say that the overwhelming amount of support I got after being called a liar really restored my faith in the fandom. I still believe we are a family, and I still love that about us. I’m going to keep being annoying and talking to my followers too much and posting my silly fanfictions.
