Soulsmake
I had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Soulsmake event recently and I was lucky enough to be paired with @foxglove-faith! Together we begun planning a Shiny Duo centric AU, which we did so much planning for, some writing, and @foxglove-faith was able to do some amazing art pieces for it! Though we didn't finish the entirety of what we had planned, we wanted to show what we have done so far as we have plans to continue in the future! I will be sharing some of the writing done for it, and @foxglove-faith will be showcasing some of her art! We had so much fun making this, and we hope that you enjoy it just as much as we do.
Without further ado, here's the sneak peek:
The training center was once a place of rest, quiet and calm in its previous employment as a library; now, however, cheers and taunts can be heard as Cleo opens the door, stepping through to find her fellow heroes circled round the fighting ring. Pearl, her long, golden-brown hair tied back in a ponytail, was attempting to kick her fighting partner: Gem. Gem, in turn, ducked beneath the kick and swept a foot into Pearl’s, knocking the latter off balance and onto her back. Gem was quick to take the advantage: rushing forward and pinning Pearl down, her copper curls brushing her opponent’s face.
“I told you I would win, now look who owes me lunch,” Gem laughed, still trying to catch her breath. Looking over her shoulder, Gem caught Scott’s eyes, “Call it, Scotty.”
“All right, all right, Gem won this match,” Scott declared, draping himself on a supporting post that cornered the fighting ring. “For now.”
Laughing, Gem picked herself up and off of Pearl, wiping the sweat from her brow, she offered Pearl a hand up. Taking Gem’s hand, Pearl flips the woman over her head and onto the ground. Smothering a laugh with her hand, Pearl rises to her feet and looks over at Gem’s new position on the mat. Comically sprawled across the ground, Gem looked like a tangled mess of limbs, hardly like one of the top heroes that she was. Turning, Pearl walked out of the ring, sidestepping other Heroes as she headed towards the changing room, not even bothering to smother her laughter.
