Hi I am so sorry if this question is rude in any way but ive been looking around for a new way to make the transistor (made it before but wayy too heavy) and I saw yours and it's beautiful, what material is your base sword?

Hi I'm so sorry I haven't checked this account in a while!!! The main material is plexiglass/acrylic panels! Mine ended up being pretty thick so I would suggest going thinner if you can as it cuts down on the weight

First off, I am blown away by the amount of love I received for my Jester costume!!! She was amazing to make, so much fun to wear, and all around an incredible experience from start to finish!! I have a bad habit of getting sucked into details but I think it worked in my favor this time around! There were so many little things about Jester’s outfit I wanted to get just right, and fussing over them was honestly half the fun.

The beautiful photos taken of the completed costume were done by a dear friend of mine @ivorivet, who isn’t just a fantastic photographer, but also an amazingly beautiful talented cosplayer in her own right!! I can’t thank her enough for doing my solo shoot and I love her to bits 💖💖💖

Other helping hands are credited to @dontevenlikecoconut, @centeris2, and @artofnana, who all did little tasks on other costumes so I could focus on Jester, or drove me up packages from home so I didn’t lose my mind the night before con. 💙💙💙

I did something a little different this time around with my WIPs! If you follow me on instagram (pearlybaecosplay) then you would have seen the hell crunch that was on my insta stories all month!! If you missed it, no worries!! I saved all my Jester WIPs onto a collection on my insta profile, if people were interested in seeing extra details and some video progress.

This is a really detailed tutorial and I know a lot of cosplays that require vambraces such as this and I personally know very little about sewing and even less about leatherworking so this tutorial will be very helpful.

I posted this elsewhere, but not on tumblr yet! Here’s some nicer detail pictures of Sylens’ Lance from Horizon Zero Dawn. This was my first prop that I ever made and the response I’ve gotten is amazing! It’s not perfect but I don’t really care 😁 it’s my baby and I love it.

When I play games I always collect all the cool items and basically hoard them (all armor sets, weapons, jewelry, rare books, special potions, basically anything 😂) so owning a glowy spear in real life is like… my dream. Cosplay is a beautiful gift to the world.

Hi! I read a post on here a while back and im 90% sure it was an original post from you guys and it was about making fake cosplay muscles using bra inserts? the post mentioned the technique being learned from japanese cosplayers. I did some research on my own but I wasn't able to find much besides the foam super hero kind of suits. Do you have a tutorial on that or know where I could get that info? Thank you! PS all of your cosplays are absolutely stunning!

I cant actually give you more details because they dont themselves reveal too much, but it basically looks like they added clear strapping or even hook and eye clasps to the boobie cutlets and just put their suit on over.

After months of feeling no inspiration for cosplay, I’ve been blessed by the cast of Critical Role by the reveal of the new disaster family and their fab designs! It hit me this weekend (only a few weeks before con rip me) that I could channel being blown away by how much I love the new babes into my latest cosplay… MY GIRL JESTER!

I started with the horns by layering rings of cardboard to create a lightweight ridged base shape. I then covered this with scraps of worbla to give them a more organic look. They’ve been primed with 2 coats of flexbond and 2 coats of black acrylic as a base wash. I’m going to shade and dry brush next before I attach them to a basic dollar store headband that will be disguised by my wig.

I’ll post progress pics here…. send me positive vibes that will help me finish in time for the con!!
