You know as an American born in the late 90s I’ve watched my country blow up foreigners on tv supposedly in the interest of national security since I was a toddler but quite frankly we live on a natural fortress of a continent with friendly nations to our north and south and have been attacked on our own soil literally two times in the past hundred years and we have military bases on every inhabited continent on earth. It’s never made sense to do these things for “national security”. It never will make sense unless you value the shareholders of weapons companies over the lives of children. And apparently a concerning amount of people do.

path of achra (yes I've been on one again) is a really good example of how your "first coding project" can be fully carried into compelling game territory by being really experienced with design (which is something you can get by making wc3 custom maps)

sometimes I'm sitting there watching a million effects chain off of each other without breaking, just thinking about how cleanly this game scales for how it also features a cycle select that starts its count a number higher than the text displayed, presumably for the reason that usually happens

Just learned about Bull Press, a tabletop publisher that focuses on games that are prison compliant (no hardcover, no dice, no maps), and their catalogue seems sick as hell. Def gonna pick smth up when I get paid next. They do a lot of donation work with books for prisoners programs!
