Hobbies and interests:
- My lifelong special interest: animals/zoology/nature in general! I have a special love for birds of prey (vultures my beloved) and any local/native wildlife! I’m a frequent user of iNaturalist and the Merlin app, and I’ve recently discovered that I love lichen. Please tell me about your niche wildlife opinions!
- Fishkeeping! I have quite a few tanks and I'm starting up my fish room! My favorites are my corys and neocaridina shrimp.
- Cozy gaming (games listed under fandom interests)
- Traditional art! I mostly draw with alcohol markers or just pencil and ink, and sometimes also do other crafts. I'm trying to start oil painting again too, and I get into fiber arts during colder weather.

I’ve realized that I definitely have some sort of instability going on in my neck, and it’s probably what is responsible for my muscle issues that have been getting worse and worse. It’s good that I’ve figured it out but also. Fucking sucks because there’s not much I can do about it immediately. Muscle relaxers end up making it worse because my muscles can’t compensate for my joints like usual and then they lock up even harder and I feel even worse.
I don’t know how to explain how exhausting it is to have your muscles locked “on” all the time. It drains my energy so so quickly.
Listen I get it but you CANNOT use "sensory nightmare" as an excuse to avoid essential things. You HAVE to find a way to make it work, such as finding effective alternatives. But you can't just avoid it.
You need to eat some vegetables in your diet or you will become a lich.
You have to wear a life jacket or you will literally drown and die.
You need to be able to exist in public spaces with children.
Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.
OK guys seriously we need to resolve this one, not least because I'm stuck at my desk all day today. Resolve as in, obviously yes there's a smoking lounge, but where is it? Is it on the Promenade? Or on one of the habitat rings? Next to a seedy docking bay? Was it there when it was Terok Nor? Or did Kira get one sorted out during that brief window of opportunity she had in charge before Starfleet arrived with their whitened teeth and healthier options? Where are people getting their fags? Does the grocer stock them or is it under the counter through Quark? Or the florist? Is there a real fight over a Starfleet ban and Odo comes down in favour of the smokers because he can't smell anything and besides it's what Kira wants? But Keiko is furious with him because of the kids and Odo doesn't know what to do about that. Hang on, we need to solve the replicator problem... Yes, there's a Starfleet regulation about not replicating them.
