Sooooo I watched it. Hoshh! It's all true. YASS, the movie is super tense. The tension starts from the very first scene all the way to the end. And it ends amazingly. Oh, my ayes are blessed seeing its satisfying visualization. All the scenes are beautifully shot. The story, the pacing, the score, JUST every details is amazingly crafted. A shame I didn't watch it in imax.
The story centers on three different perspectives with different timeline for each: the mole (one week), the water (one day), and the air (one hour). Each part contributes significant impact to one another as they're crossing each other's paths & times. And as for the terrors, they do not compromise at all. They come again and again, mostly when they're least expected. Everyone involved in this tragedy, in any war actually, they're not the same person anymore when they're back home. IF they can make it home. It takes something from them. This makes me sad yet so utterly grateful to be alive in waaay more peaceful and safe time and place.
Like in other Nolan's movies, we are required to pay attetion to the details. Be alert. He is known as the specialist of sci-fi/thriller/mistery genre, yet he can manage to put the ingredients to his newfound love, this historical drama.
The strength doesn't come from the cinematography and the story only. I also got to enjoy fine performances of those fine and not to mention cute actors, especially the air force pilot, played by Tom "I'm flying like a bird, tho without fuel" Hardy, THE HERO OF THE DAY. He wears a mask almost throughout the movie, but he flies the aircraft with CHARISMA. The shivering soldier, Cillian Murphy, the other soldiers, the commander, the colonel, the pilots, just everyone, they're all fine and cute š
. Speaking of soldiers, Harry Styles, who plays one of them, really has done a very good job. I heard that he's good in it, but I didn't know if he's 'that good'. He is. He gets rid of that boyband image for this movie. Well done, Harrold š š
To be honest, I was expecting some bad crying face, followed by swollen eye-lid though. Nonetheless, It is a heart-pounding movie with cinematic beauties.
