My newest pet peeve: People complaining about the violence in the Red Rising series.

It's a New Adult series, not intented for teenage audiences. No, just because in the first book Darrow was 16 years old in the very beginning, doesn't mean it's intended for very young audiences.

It's set in a dystopian future. The violence is supposed to exist, and yes, explicit violence is allowed and should be expected given the genre (Dystopian and New Adult).

In terms of violence and gore, it's up there with A Song of Ice and Fire and Broken Empire (but with no explicit sexual violence).

My point is: you don't like it? Don't read it! There are no warnings because it is within a genre that is known for explicit violence, so it is presumed that you're agreeing to read it. And I have some opinions on that, but that's beside the point.

gansey is a stationary hoe. like he had hundreds of highlighters and pens in boxes because he compulsively buys them when he’s sad. he just uses them to doodle in his journal and books. sometimes he writes on library books and feels so bad that he just buys a dozen new copies.  blue calls him out for his reckless spending, talking about capitalism but then steals them  (they get lost at 300 foxway anyway, like orla probably draws hearts everywhere). ronan could give less of a fuck, but lets be real, he draws on his $400 yeezy’s, and then adam is this close to borrowing some for studying during finals but doesnt because Pride.
