I recently re-did the house quiz from the prologue so I can see what Hyde has to say about every house, so here are screenshots in case anyone is curious!
Guys, listen itโs a small detail but I need to talk about it.
In the episode 23, MC recalls this flashback of Kaito from the episode 20.
But she remembered a different version of Kaito: HE WEARS A HAT. Yes, I know it might be dumb because itโs just a fckng hat but the thing is: From the very first chapter of the boat arc, neither Lucas nor Kaito wore a single hat! (Tohma and Jin too).
Why would the developers add this tiny detail? It's the same scene, so the picture should be the same! I want to believe they just wanted to add Kaito a hat for fun but I know that the developers always have something in mind. I mean, they actually took the time to add the hat, which means it wasn't a mistake, right? Maybe it was on purposeโฆ. Or maybe not. (Iโm going crazy for a tiny detail, imagine Iโm just being delusional but we never know)
So, perhaps itโs a hint about the Time Loop/Parallel Universe Theory? Does this hat-wearing Kaito belong to an alternate memory? The Kaito with the hat could be Kaito from a slightly different timeline.
Listen, I would like to believe that there are no mistakes in this scene and Iโm just being crazy but it might be a theory that MC remembers a different memory of Kaito compared to the scene we saw.
Also the prologue of the episode 23: MC had a nightmare about k1lling Lucas and transformed into the Kyklos. I was thinkingโฆ.. IF this nightmare is actually A MEMORY OF A DIFFERENT TIMELINE? I know I might be insane because maybe itโs really JUST a nightmare butโฆ. I mean, MC never dreamed of this kind of thing, right?
Besides, I remember from the Bโs LOG where the developers said: "Please take in every detail carefully" and I wonder if the things I pointed out were part of their details.
Anyway, I just wanted to express my thoughts on the new episode. You donโt need to take this seriously because Iโm not psychic ๐ญ Iโm just theorizing. I would like to know what you all think about this. (And I want to know if Iโm the only one who is delusional af lmao)
Out of all the characters, they chose to kill the best one.
The first character I've ever loved in tokyo debunker was KAITO, FIGHT ME KAITO HATERS, Yall like Jin but hate Kaito???
Jin treats MC like a slave and only has small moments where he acts nice but he mostly shouts bursts all his anger everywhere, Leo acts like an ass to MC and only has small moments where he's nice... yall ignore their red flags and call Kaito annoying cuz he's a simp. At least he treats MC better than them, AND HES VERY FUNNY, omg :P
Tokyo Debunker really cares about names and meanings. In fact, each house has a certain theme when it comes to names (e.g Hotarubi and the imperial regalia of Japan) of course itโs also related to their designs/appearance.
I decided to share this so you could speculate their roles and designs.

Dionysia
Theme: fantasy, magic and theater?
Elias Pratt
Elias is a form of Elijah used in several languages. This is also the form used in the Greek New Testament, as well as some English translations. Itโs from the Hebrew name ืึฑืึดืึธึผืืึผ (สพEliyyahu) meaning "my God is Yahweh". Elijah was a Hebrew prophet and miracle worker, as told in the two Books of Kings in the Old Testament.
Pratt is from Old English prรฆtt meaning "trick, prank". This was a nickname for a trickster.
Weโve met him but he hasnโt gotten a proper introduction yet. He might be added later, who knows?
Shion Genkai
Shion (ใทใชใณ) is just katakana for Zion, but Shion (็ดซ่) means "aster" (a purple flower that symbolizes memory, eternal love, and mourning). It can also come from (่ฉฉ) meaning "poem" and (้ณ) meaning "sound". Mermaids/sirens are known to have beautiful voices.
Genkai (ๅนปๆตท) is a Japanese boyโs name. ๅนป (gen) means "illusion, phantom, vision" and ๆตท (kai) means "ocean, sea".
Iโm really curious why Shion is in katakanaโฆ but thereโs another character like this.
Mio Susuhara
Mio (ๆชๆก) is from Japanese ๆช (mi) meaning "not yet, future" combined with ๆก (ล) meaning "cherry blossom". Iโve always seen ๆก used in names for characters associated with the sakura in design. โNot yet a cherry blossomโ โ โThe cherry blossom that has not yet bloomed.โ
Susuhara (็ คๅ) ็ ค (susu) means "soot, coal dust." ๅ (hara) is a very common surname suffix meaning "origin, source, foundation." Maybe the full meaning is โSource of Ashโ or โSoot Field.โ
Jo Kongoza
Jo (ไธ) means "height", "length" or "man", used as a masculine suffix in given names for a strong or noble tone.
Kongoza (้ๅๅบง) ้ๅ (Kongล) is literally "vajra" or "diamond/indestructible." In Buddhist context, it symbolizes strength and resilience. ๅบง (Za) can mean โseat,โ โplace,โ or โtheater troupe.โ Often evokes an elevated or ceremonial position. So, ้ๅๅบง literally means โThe Diamond (Vajra) Seatโ. The sacred spot of enlightenment, unshakable and pure, under the Bodhi tree where the Buddha attained enlightenment.
Clementia
This is pure speculation. Iโm not sure if these characters are in Clementia, nothing is confirmed.

Shiki
Shiki is also written in katakana (ใทใญ) which can be associated with multiple kanji and meanings depending on context.
ๅๅญฃ = four seasons
ๆญป้ฌผ = death spirit / demon
่ญ = knowledge / awareness
Writing entirely in katakana gives an edgy, modern, or ambiguous impression..
Yamato
Yamato (ๅญๅ) is Literally โJapanese sword.โ ๅญ is an ancient name for Japan, ๅ is โsword, blade.โ The name evokes strong, nationalistic, or heroic imagery. The reading Yamato for ๅญ is classical, โๅโ is often left unpronounced in a stylized name.
EP23 spoiler: Haku doesnโt use the honorific โ-sanโ when referring to Yamato. It could mean heโs just younger than him (since Haku doesnโt use honorifics for the 1st and 2nd years) or they could be very closeโฆ or even related. Apparently they have the same home. Maybe brothers or cousins? Hakuโs last name, Kusanagi, refers to the legendary sword Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi.
Inamori
I have a speculation that this could be Yamatoโs last nameโฆ
Inamori (็จฒ่ท็คพ) is a little complicated. Usually itโs not pronounced Inamori. If read โใใชใใใ / Inari-shaโ it literally means "Inari-shrine."
But names (personal or place names) in Japanese can use special โname-onlyโ readings (nanori), and ็จฒ่ท็คพ can also be read โInamoriโ in that context, even though the standard reading is โInari-sha.โ
Inari (็จฒ่ท) Refers to Inari, the Shintล kami (deity) of rice, agriculture, fertility, prosperity, and later commerce. Sha (็คพ) means "shrine" or "shrine building." So, ็จฒ่ท็คพ = a shrine dedicated to the Inari deity.
Ina (็จฒ) literally means "rice plant", na (่ท) "cargo/load" (In the context of Inari, it is part of the compound โInariโ (็จฒ่ท) while for names, it can retain the na reading). Mori (็คพ) still means "shrine" or "company". In surnames, ็คพ can sometimes be read mori, especially in combination with other kanji, following historical/nanori patterns.
This name carries a religious/cultural nuance, suggesting a family tied to an Inari shrine.
Inari is primarily associated with the fox spirits (kitsune) as messengers.
Haku has been associated with the tanuki..

ive seen a ton of posts/comments about not being to solve a specific case. and i feel u. i really do. but!! there are some ways that can most definitely help when tackling a difficult case. so imma share some bits of wisdom.
(this post is based on my experience and also this website. <- this is in Japanese so... kinda also translating)
1) Gemstones ๐
first of all, in those cases, the monsters you'll be going up against are going to be attacking you way more than you're going to be attacking them. so you're gonna need to boost your HP and defence, both special and physical.
this is why for your main (imma assume you have earrings/necklaces/rings/brooches/perfumes in which u can attach gemstones to), give each of your accessories a HP, SDEF, and PDEF gemstone. (health points, special defence, physical defence)
examples from my main card below.
now for your warding card.
u want as much attack power as possible, because u wanna deal a ton of damage when u can. so, get an ATK and a PATK/SATK. (attack, physical attack, special attack)
PATK -> for Physical Attackers.
SATK -> for Special Attackers.
(how to check: Characters -> Training -> Skills (next to Potential) -> on the top, it'll say either S. Attacker or P. Attacker )
now for the third gemstone. for this one, i recommend either a HP gemstone, or
INT if ur main is a S. Attacker
STR if ur main is a P. Attacker
i dunno why INT for S. Attackers and STR for P. Attackers; just says on the jp website 'recommend' ๐คทโโ๏ธ
again, example from my main card below. (my main is S. Attacker)
2) Special Attributes ๐
as i said, WE WANNA RAISE UR ATTACK AND HP. so go for the attack and hp attributes. ATK for ur warding card, and HP for your earring/necklace/ring.
personally i tend to prioritize ATK more than HP.
for the PDEF, PATK, SDEF, and SATK in the perfume/brooch the jp website says smt about don't level up a specific kind for each attacker but. im kinda lazy so i just stopped leveling those up a while ago
3) OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF U SHOULD KNOW
Pick ur main. ONE. i cannot stress this enough. PICK ONLY ONE MAIN. because one strong main will get u further than two to three mains with meh power.
i highly suggest a SSR card for ur main. this is because SSR cards are sooooo much more powerful than SR cards in terms of basic attributes (at level 1, potency 0.0%, nothing equipped)
4) IF U DID ALL THIS AND STILL CAN'T SOLVE THE DAMN CASE
there is a last resort.
which is leveling up ur rank.
leveling up a rank reduces the amount of attack dealt on ur teams, and increases the amount of damage ur team deals on those cute/freaky monsters (anomalies?)
yep. so the chances of you winning will be significantly higher.
my suggestion is this: don't log in to the Campus as long as u can without exceeding 24 hours, and collect ur exp in one go. for players whose levels aren't that high, give it a good night's sleep. by next morning when u log in, ur rank has risen, and most likely you'll be able to solve the case.
