sooner or later there’s going to be an end, a gruesome one, and jinhwan’s going to meet it head first, like diving into the ocean from the docks back on jeju island. he keeps tempting fate, it’s a dangerous thing, and he knows yoora and min would kick his ass for continually trying his luck, dancing around with the devil wearing a smug smile.
he knows he’s not doing himself any favors – who just tempts fate like this? dumbasses that’s who. he can’t help it. this guy just interested him to no end, and he didn’t actually leave his apartment tonight to follow behind him. he was just walking to clear his head, so maybe he could sleep some, and there he is – that strange fellow from the alleyway, talking that nonsense about ‘targets’ and ‘missions’. he’d been warned away, been threatened with unemployment (jinhwan still gets a good laugh about that), but he’d be damned if he’s going to just be scared away. fuck that, sir.
so he finds himself following after, and he’s not really sneaky, because he wants to be, but because it’s something that’s built into him, from back on jeju when he’d sneak in, out, and around his own goddamn house. never a moment’s peace from stares or whispers from his own fucking parents. it’s just habit now – sneak, tip toe, make as little noise as possible, and don’t get caught. avoid those judgmental looks.
he stops when the mysterious guy stops, pausing and listening. he’s speaking into a headset? maybe a phone, but that’s irrelevant right now. it’s what he’s saying that draws jinhwan’s interest.
------ ‘mission. no, lost the target.’
missions and targets again, what the fuck even is up with this guy? oh, if jinhwan finds out this is some elaborate role-playing game or some shit, he’s going to make sure the guy’s in the fucking hospital for three goddamn weeks.
