How to manage Pet food storage issues
Why is pet food storage so important for keeping it fresh? I began researching the pet industry about three years ago after my dogs became ill after eating food that I had purchased. I want to help your pets live longer and healthier lives, so they can spend more time with you.
So, what is the significance of storage? The most important tip, I can give you today, and for your takeaway is to keep the food inside the bag it came in. This bag that your food comes in is designed to keep it fresh. Even if you get fresh food, and the food I get is no more than six weeks old because it's made in small batches, if I dont store it properly, the food will go bad.
You should also keep your food away from direct sunlight, or areas that are extremely hot. For example, if it's extremely hot down there, you don't want to store your food there. You should keep it in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Another thing that will help keep it fresh is to use another container that you can take the entire bag of food and just put it right inside. I use a container that resembles a small garbage pail, be made of steel, has a locking lid, and is a solid steel can that can hold a 20-pound bag. So, I just take the entire bag and place it inside the can.
As it stands, the foods you buy in stores are usually six to seven months old before they even hit the shelves. As a result, the nutrition may already be degraded, and if not properly stored, it will degrade even further. , So that's it for today's tip on pet food storage. Keep it in the bag, it came in, and get an airtight container to put the food bag into.
