âGreetings to you princess. What can a witch like myself do for someone like you?âÂ
Kida paused a moment, before asking,
"What could you offer me?"
what the water told me || Kida & Asami
Well, it was nice out, no? She might as well go out and enjoy the day, right? Why not. The woman wore a a loose top that hung over her shoulders and a beach coverup hanging over her waist. The familiar breeze hung and danced through her long, ebony locks. A hand lifted and ran through her  hair to see the sight before her. She sighed as the cool, sea wind filled her lungs. The smell and the sound of the sea soothed her instantly.Â
The woman had never really had the opportunity to enjoy the ocean like this.  It was nice to finally be able to get away after long days at work, pile and piles of pending projects to go through,  test runs, approvalsâ it didnât seem like much, but trust me thereâs much  more to it. Maybe Asami was one of the few people that actually appreciated the place, even in all itâs weirdness. She laid down a towel of sorts and laid down, her hands holding her upright, her eyes pensiveâ brooding as always.
It wasnât till she noticed a white-haired woman that she snapped out of her thoughts. Asami thought she had noticed her, so in turn she waved. The girl was the only one there besides her, really.Â
âHello there! Nice day out, right?â
Enjoying a rare and well deserved break from her duties, Kida had found herself beside the sea. The gentle, salted breeze reminded her of home, and she closed her eyes as the scent filled her lungs. With the grace befitting the royalty she was, she removed the cerulean and lavender wrap from her hips and draped it against the sand, where it fluttered for a moment. Having done this, she wandered down the gentle slope of the sand to the water's edge, where she tested the water, rubbing it along her arms to adjust to the temperature. Cupping it in her hands in an almost playful manner, she grinned at the blueness before diving beneath its depths.
She looked through the water, seeing fish weave their way through paths beyond human comprehension, and watched as the sea grasses beneath swayed with the ebb and flow of the tide. After a minute or so, she resurfaced, her white hair clinging to her dark skin, before swimming back to shore.Â
Her prowess as a swimmer could not be doubted - her muscles, trained by long hunts and midnight dives, were used to being exercised regularly, and she powered through the water with speed and grace. Reaching the sand, she stood slowly and went to retrieve her wrap. Presently, she saw a waving hand in the corner of her eye, and turning to meet it, she heard a woman call,
âHello there! Nice day out, right?â
Kida grinned, and spoke as she approached the woman, wrap in hand.
"Indeed, it is a fine day for swimming, is it not?" After a short pause, she asked,
"Do you mind if I join you here?"
I'm not interested in hookers(closed to kida-nedakh)
To wake from a dream that had stretched so far was akin to getting slapped in the face, the first day spent wandering about had been almost like she had never woken from the dream at all. No one approached her and no one would answer back when she asked for sightings of a short bubbly pink-haired girl, and almost everyone seemed to just pass her by acting as though she didnât exist.
Fang was annoyed, being snubbed once was bad enough and she might have expected such blatant racism in Cocoon and the lack of respect but even here in another city? Gods, itâs like she canât do anything correctly. A growl of frustration escaped from her as she smashed her fist against a wall. A sound that seemed to send passer-by scurrying away but had the adverse effect to also bring other people towards her.
Three rather pretty looking woman, dressed in less than even Fang was, seemed to have gotten even more interested in her. They surrounded her, oneâs hand draped over the bronze-skinned womanâs shoulder, another contented herself in simply tracing a line down Fangâs cheeks and the third had somehow staked her dominance over her hair, twirling odd strands between her fingers.
âYou look delicious, darling.â Came the whisper that sent a shiver down Fangâs back, her hand gripped tightly around her wooden stick and she then gritted her teeth.
She took a deep breath, as the three continued getting closer and closer, and pushed them away. Fang fled, passed winding alleyways and through side streets until she couldnât even remember the way she came. At that point, the woman dropped down on her ass, her back lying against the brick wall. She took another deep breath as she wiped the sweat off her face, not even realizing that she was blushing. Thus she stayed in this state until someone else approached her. Another girl, this time with brown skin and white hair, and with a cursory glance, Fang turned away.
âLook âere, Iâm not tryinâ ta ask for trouble but Iâm not interested in you tryinâ ta sell off yer body ta me, got it?â
Kida had been watching the streets of Hive City, spear in hand, for some time now, ensuring that she did as much as one in her position as a guardian. She moved through the slight shadows, cast by the high buildings which surrounded her, looking for disorderly behaviour and listening for whisperings of evil deeds.
Presently, she heard the sound of beating footsteps, and she followed the sound intently. It was almost as though she was hunting again, and a taste of the thrill of the chase came to her momentarily. She slowed her pace as the footsteps stopped, and turned the corner at the end of an alleyway.
It was then that she saw the woman, dark haired and breathing heavily. She approached slowly, when the other spoke to her.
Kida shook her head gently.
"I can assure you that this is not my intention." With a soft, comforting smile, she asked,
"Are you alright?"
headcanon words: wrap, humanity, modern, adornment (as in the practice of adorning oneself or an object with trinkets), just.
((Doing this as a drabble because :P))
Kida stared in the bathroom mirror, catching her own glance. Her tattoo, the Mark of the Princess, glared back, reminding her of her absence from her people, her white hair clung to her and her skin was covered in small water droplets, post-shower. She sighed, before taking her wrap from where she had draped it on the towel rack, and tying it in its accustomed place at her hips. She shook her hair dry with a towel, barely paying attention to her appearance; practicality was always placed above aesthetics in her mind, and the ritualistic adornment which which many others she has seen in this city plastered themselves with was alien to her. There was no meaning to it, save to perfect what modern society believed was insufficient, to weigh down with gold or sparkling jewels, not for any reason but to appear beautiful. She shook her head, and whispered.
"Humanity is vain."
Looking into the mirror again, she thought on how she would prefer humanity to act.
"I would prefer it if others were judged on what they were, rather than how they appeared. I would rather people described me as 'just', rather than 'beautiful'. Just should be my actions, just should define me, not the belief that my face is my all." Her hair almost dry, Kida left the bathroom, quickly combed her hair and grabbed her wooden spear.
Just was what she wanted to be.
Just was how she would act.
áŽáŽÊÉȘáŽáŽáŽáŽ áŽáŽ áŽáŽáŽáŽÊáŽs || Kida & Sebastian
The demon returned her kind smile, giving off his own aura of warmth, if only to make her feel comfortable. To him, she was simply another human. She had done nothing to impress him, had not shown him any special abilities, had not revealed anything that surpassed the mortal standard at all whatsoever. Despite a faint sense of difference, and the rather obvious physical difference, she seemed just as mortal as anyone. Nonetheless, Sebastian was interested in finding out what he had missed, what time period and pace she had come from, and why he had never seen it. It was obvious there were different customs from where she was from, perhaps even a different language.    âSocrates lived several centuries ago, so long ago that no one has been able to determine exact years, though an accurate estimate has been made. Anywhere around 460 BC to 399 BC.â He answered her smoothly, smiling. âAnd heâs gone down in history for his teachings, and has remained there despite the long amount of time that has passed.â
âNow, if I may ask you a question?â Sebastian asked politely, seeming genuinely curious. âIf I am not prying, Iâd like to know where youâre from.â
Kida thought carefully about the dates Sebastian had given her, and concluded that Socrates might have known about Atlantis, but she decided not to press the question further following the butler's question. She smiled softly.
"Of course, I do not mind, Sebastian-toap. In fact, I would be honoured." After a pause, Kida continued.
"I hail from the city of Atlantis, Sebastian-toap. My presence here has rendered it missing one of its hunters-"
Another pause.
"and its princess." At this, Kida stopped, uncertain as to how Sebastian would react, and also to allow her pronouncement of royalty to sink in.

Strange as it was, the night brought more peace to the already worried mind of the assassin, who found himself sitting on the train, on his way to sector four. He had no business there other than to see his Siha, yet he wouldnât, not now. Thane believed he shouldnât invade her space without announcing his intentions before, so he could take the chance to venture around the so called cultural district.
No signs of changing streets, like the district his apartment could be found. Less crime than the third sector, and less smoke than the industrial. The silent atmosphere was peaceful enough to allow the assassin to entertain his sight on the buildings and exhibitions this district offer. Definitely a place he should return more often.
His wondering took him to a fountain, and to some bench nearby where Thane decided to rest for a moment. The sound of water eased his mind, letting him stare and get lost in thought.
Kida had also sought out water. She was worn out by her patrol, which had taken her across all the sectors, and she was now reversing her journey as part of the second half of her patrol. Now, in sector oo4, she began to tire further, when she heard the sound of moving water. Hearing this, she hurried to find its source, her strength renewed by a confirmation of purpose.
The fountain came into view and she smiled, before hurrying over and kneeling down to take some of the clear refreshing liquid in her hands. She rolled her head back slightly as she drank the water, before wiping the droplets from her mouth. Looking up, she saw a... green figure. He had intrigued her, and she rose to her feet before walking towards him, spear in hand.
"I have not seen you about these parts before. May I know your name?"
I RLY LIKE HOW MUCH DEPTH YOU PUT INTO KIDA AND YOU PLAY HER REALLY WELL A+ GOOD JOB!!!!
((Thank you so much! I do try very hard with Kida to play her right and learn as much as I can so that I can portray her correctly. I'm glad someone appreciates the effort :P Come off anon and talk to me :P))
crush...? also give us a few ic facts about her
Crush?
Kida arches a brow.
"You are most persistent with this question. Please give me due time to consider my feelings, or you may find yourselves... crushed!" Kida chuckles at her appalling joke.
IC Facts
- Kida was taught to swim by her mother, but her father found instructors for her after the Great Flood to increase her safety.
- Kida's multi-linguistic capabilities only extend as far as speaking, but she has picked up a little English writing since she came to Hive City.
- Kida's age has left her with highly sharpened reflexes.
headcanon: technology, friendship, decoration
Technology
Kida is used to technology - Atlantis possesses electricity and flying vehicles, powered by the use of their crystals. But it is used mainly to accent their lives, and she finds the sheer reliance upon it in Hive City to be a strange and sad thing.
Friendship
It is not very easy to win Kida's true friendship, but once won, she is a loyal and kind friend. She understands that it is a bond that should be respected to the utmost and is something she treasures deeply.Â
Decoration
Kida decorates to meet traditions, in her clothing (as a huntress and princess), her tattoo (the Mark of the Princess) and her reverence of her beliefs. However, Kida dresses and decorates mainly with what is practical, and has little time for frilly meaningless things. She sees that decoration should have a deeper meaning than to be simply aesthetically pleasing.
headcanon: water? time?
Water
Kida both loves and hates water. She bathes in it and will actively seek it out to quench her thirst after a long day's hunting, and also enjoys exploring beneath the water's surface. However, water is also the reason she lost her mother, taken away during the Great Flood, and she is wary of it in large amounts.
Time
Time is a slow moving thing to the Atlantean princess. She has lived for around 8800 years, and during that time, has seen many things that have caused her to be troubled. Her regrets and fears have remained with her for a long time. However, she knows her extended lifespan has granted her the ability to train for longer than any other human being, allowing her to perfect her use of the spear and to increase her stamina. Finally, she sees time as destructive - she looks back, knowing that her city was once one to be envied, but now, time only serves to decay it further.
â ~
â - Kida is frustrated by those with too much self pride, unless they have a very good reason for it.
â â and crush?
â Kida's spear (the one being held by the scientists) is the same one that her mother used when she was alive.
â I love singing in different languages!

Emma managed a weak smile in return, disheartened by the memories returning to her troubled mind.
Kida recognised the forced nature of this smile, and came a little closer to Emma.
"Is there anything else I can do?"
Chasing the spirits away [Closed: Kida & Keima]
[A slight change in her tone. It went from one of a great confidence to one that felt a bit more fragile. It was subtle but there it was and Keima didnât miss it. Was this topic something that had to relate with the gap in her heart? It seemed like a possibility so at least he had some sort of clue now.]
No. I donât. I know sheâll be alright even if Iâm not around. Itâs not like I have died so I can always find a way to come back.
[Keima wasnât one to succumb to reality so going with his own belief was an absolute truth to him and despair would never get hold of the God of the gaming world as long as there were games awaiting for him at home.]
Kida smiled, gladdened by Keima's confidence in his mother. She seemed to be a determined woman, and this pleased Kida greatly. Still, despite her smile, she thought of her father, and saw him for a moment in her mind. She hoped that his blindness would not keep him from his duty, now that she was no longer there to guide his aged limbs. She forced another smile and replied,
"Your confidence is admirable, Keima-toap. Your mother seems to be a strong woman. That is good." After a moment, Kida lost her struggle; this forced smile did not want to be worn, and soon, it slipped, and with it, tears appeared in the eyes of the Atlantean princess.
"Forgive me, Keima-toap. I am afraid that I do not have that confidence myself." And, with this admitted, a tear rolled down Kida's cheek.
"I fear for my father."
Thrill-Seekers Only! (Closed // kida-nedakh & sleepsunderthemattress))
âWill they tell thoughâŠ?â he keeps staring out of the window as they speak.
âI donât like them. They donât tell lots of things so I wonder if theyâll tell that either.â
That was the feeling he had at least. If they had told they would have done so from the very start⊠Maybe. Josuke sighs and shrugs.
âBut I guess it wouldnât hurt to [try].â
It would indeed make it a little easier to be here. But when things were like this, it doesnât seem like they were going to get out at all. His chest hurts a little when he thinks that but⊠the other must feel just as bad so he smiles a little.Â
âThere would be lots of things to tell to all the people back at home thoâ, he says. It is genuinely funny thought - Yasuho would look very confused. He didnât know about Higashikatas but she would definitely believe him.
Kida thought for a moment over Josuke's doubt, and nodded. It did seem unlikely that they would be given such information. But she also agreed with his second statement, that it would not hurt to try.
She thought of Atlantis for a moment, seeing in her mind's eye the sadness of her people, but most of all, her father, stumbling blindly through the city without her to hold him steady. She shook her head gently as Josuke smiled, and she offered one in return.
"Indeed, Josuke-toap. Much has happened here - I have learnt much, seen much, perhaps some of it will be useful for my people."
