actually really into the storytelling of this scene

like the image of yamamoto climbing up the mountain of dead, both his and the enemies just for the chance to kill yhwach says a lot about his character as well as yhwach. however yamamoto goes to extra mile and steps upon the faces of the dead to get there. he is brutal in his ways.

theres a special emphasis on dead quincies he specifically steps on. he does not give a shit about them, he does not even give them decency in death. thats how little he respects them. all the dead are stepping stones to his and yhwach’s conflict with each other as the worst people in the world.

and yhwach doesnt give a shit about his own allies either. when confronted by yamamoto he just grins. there are no tears shed for his allies, after all, they were simply tools for his goals.

in fact even in the last episode the pile he stands upon specifically look like his own soldiers. he stands upon them to rise to the top. theyre burning in yamamoto’s pyre but it was him who put them there. both of them have. their conflict is bloody and also these two old men are the worst.
