NOTHING makes me more upset than people oversimplifying or spreading misinformation about my field. dont ever talk to me or my manual drafting supplies or my two years of drafting education or my professional certifications in both technical and architectural drafting EVER again. you don't even know the difference between a ruler and a scale.
shoutout to the people working for hours on content that only gets ten notes. i’m kissing you tenderly on the forehead as we speak
Hey, Minecraft enjoyers. Weird question: do you have, like... a "home" biome? Like, not necessarily your favorite biome to build in, but just the one that feels the most like home when you build your base there? Like. It just feels Right.
Mine is the Plains tbh
The Nether. I'm weird.
I love it when anons/guests find my works and kudo/leave reviews, but given the new revelation that Elon Musk is using bots to mine AO3 fanfiction for a writing AI without writer’s permission, my works are now archive-locked and only available for people with an AO3 account.

what the fuck.
“The remains of three Paleolithic dogs, including one with a mammoth bone in its mouth, have been unearthed at Predmosti in the Czech Republic, according to a new Journal of Archaeological Science paper.
The remains indicate what life was like for these prehistoric dogs in this region, and how humans viewed canines. The dogs appear to have often sunk their teeth into meaty mammoth bones. These weren’t just mammoth in terms of size, but came from actual mammoths.
In the case of the dog found with the bone in its mouth, the researchers believe a human inserted it there after death.”
Do you guys even know what this means… It means that someone cared enough about this dog, and knew it’s love for mammoth bones, that upon the dogs death, the human placed a bone in the canines mouth because they wanted it to take the bone with them in the afterlife. I love knowing that humans have always been like this because I’ve been burying stuffed animals with my passed pets since I was a kid
We really are not so different from any human ever. 30,000 years ago we were making art. 20,000 years ago we grieved our pets. I don't think the ancient world was a magical paradise...but it was what we evolved to survive in. And I think it's a useful lens for determining what's important to thriving as a human animal. We need art. And we need love. The vessel of that love is not particularly important.
In Defense of Self-Diagnosis
I am SO FUCKING SICK of reading new "think" pieces every day about how *dAngERouS* it is for people to be self-diagnosing ADHD and Autism, among other neurodivergence. This is literally the simplest cause-and-effect situation ever and people are STILL trying to make it out to be over-represented when it has, in fact, been UNDER-REPRESENTED and UNDER-DIAGNOSED for years.
A bunch of women and queer people, when confronted with the insane stress of the pandemic/lockdown, were finally made aware of what the symptoms of ADHD/Autism actually look like day-to-day for those of us who are not 6-year-old white boys. (And if you think I'm being dramatic, please go look up who the participants were of major ADHD/Autism studies that frame the diagnostic criteria for both of these disorders :)))) Everyone who did not know this about themselves was having the same "aha!" moment together, because both ADHD and Autism have been grossly misrepresented to the public for years. We knew, all this time (I PROMISE) we were "different," but could never put a direct label to any of our struggles and frustrations. We were hurting this ENTIRE time, but putting up with it silently and masking hard because we thought we were just worse at life than other people, or something.
And then, after that "aha!" we all collectively went, "hey, what the fuck? This has been going on this ENTIRE time and no one caught it??? No doctor or teacher or nothing?????? Because my severe distress wasn't inconveniencing THEM enough??????? What the ACTUAL fuck????????????" And started passing it on to everyone that we know, because- news flash- ND PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN TO GRAVITATE TOWARDS ONE ANOTHER AND ND IS SO FUCKING HEREDITARY. So then ALL these people who were literally discovering earth-shattering news had to pass it on to the people who we love, that are ALSO struggling with being "different" without knowing the root cause.
And as soon as all these NT doctors started seeing all the people they were missing in the process of their flawed diagnostic system, based off of their incorrect, shallow, stereotypical perception of ND, they want to scream "piLL-PUshiNG!" and say people are over-pathologizing. We know what it is like to live in our own heads. We are not over-pathologizing; you're just too stupid to admit you were hurting the people you left behind all these years, or conceptualize the fact that psychological disorders, and especially overlapping ones, do not fit into neat little categorical boxes. We have spent our ENTIRE lives hiding ourselves and shrinking; I am sick of being told to shut up about the trauma I experienced going without a diagnosis for so long. I hope that every ND kid who comes after me gets the support they need, and until doctors actually catch up with reality, self-diagnosis is going to be a vital tool in that fight.
(TW: Sex - educational context, HIV prevention)
My dear lgbt+ kids,
After my last post about HIV, I received multiple asks like "I feel embarrassed to ask something so stupid but..." - and the pure fact that I got multiple of them already proves that not knowing something is no reason to be embarrassed!
Many people are not super confident in their HIV knowledge. Acknowledging that and seeking more info is a great thing. I decided to put all these questions in one post:
How do you even get HIV?
Certain body fluids can transmit HIV:
blood
semen (cum)
pre-seminal fluid (pre-cum)
rectal fluids
vaginal fluids
breast milk.
Most adults who get HIV get it through sex (vaginal or anal) or sharing needles (or other drug injection equipment). Getting it from oral sex is also possible but less common.
Parent-to-child transmission (birth, breastfeeding) is the most common way that children get HIV.
Can you get HIV from topping?
Yes. Both the top and the bottom can get HIV through penetrative sex (top means you are penetrating your partner, bottom means your partner is penetrating you).
During anal sex, the bottom has a higher risk. That's because HIV can enter the body through the rectum’s thin lining. But: HIV can also enter the body through the opening at the tip of the penis or the foreskin or small cuts/scratches/sores anywhere on the penis.
During vaginal sex, either partner can get HIV as well, through vaginal tissue, the cervix or the penis as described above.
Can you get HIV from kissing?
You can’t transmit HIV through saliva, so there would need to be blood (or another fluid of the ones named above) involved. That means you could theoretically get HIV from open-mouthed kissing if both partners have sores or bleeding gums - but this is very rare.
You can’t transmit HIV at all through closed-mouthed kissing.
Can you get HIV from a public toilet?
The only realistic risk of getting HIV from a public toilet is by having sex or sharing drug equipment in there!
HIV does not survive long outside the human body (like on the toilet seat or door handle) and it cannot reproduce outside a human host. Wash your hands, as there are other germs that do survive on surfaces, but don't worry about HIV.
Can you get HIV from getting a tattoo?
You theoretically could - if the equipment or ink has someone else’s blood in it. This is unlikely to happen unless the person doing your tattoo uses unsterilized needles.
If you get a tattoo or piercing, make sure that the person doing the procedure is properly licensed and uses only new or sterilized equipment.
Can you get HIV from masturbating?
No. The only possible way would be if there were bodily fluids from an infected person on your fingers or sex toys.
It's always a good idea to wash your hands first because there could be other germs/irritants on them - but if you are doing it all alone, there is no risk of HIV. If you are masturbating together with another person, try to avoid sharing toys. If you do share them, use a new condom for each partner.
Can you get HIV from drinking alcohol?
When we talk about transmission via drug use, we are talking about sharing needles or drug equipment - they may have someone else's blood on them.
Alcohol use doesn't involve needles, you can not directly get HIV from being drunk. But: being drunk (or high) can lead to risky behavior that sober you wouldn't participate in, such as unprotected sex! It's a good idea to be careful around alcohol.
Isn't there a cure for HIV by now?
No. Once you have HIV, you have it for life - but the good news are there is treatment available! Someone who is HIV-positive and starts receiving treatment early has a normal life expectancy.
Medicine can reduce the amount of HIV in the blood (this is called viral load). In fact, it can make the viral load so low that a test can’t detect it anymore - and if you have an undetectable viral load, you will not transmit HIV to others!
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad

Okay, did my first meal in my slow cooker today, pulled pork. Turned out amazing, but damn am I eating a lot today because of it. The plan was to freeze some up (I'm keeping it hot overnight because I don't want to deal with bagging and freezing it tonight), but I'm not even sure if I'll have any left to put in the freezer.
...that your audience won't hate.
This is a method I started using when NFTs were on the rise - thieves would have to put actual work into getting rid of the mark - and one that I am now grateful for with the arrival of AI. Why? Because anyone who tries to train an AI on my work will end up with random, disruptive color blobs.
I can't say for sure it'll stop theft entirely, but it WILL make your images annoying for databases to incorporate, and add an extra layer of inconvenience for thieves. So as far as I'm concerned, that's a win/win.
I'll be showing the steps in CSP, but it should all be pretty easy to replicate in Photoshop.
Now: let's use the above image as our new signature file. I set mine to be 2500 x 1000 pixels when I'm just starting out.
I don't always do the border bit like I should but I learned my watermarking from Dogblud. You can't stop art stealing, especially with bots that by definition lack brains, but you CAN make it so obnoxious they'll move on to someone else. If they have to retrace/repaint to get rid of your watermark then the time involved makes the theft not worth it. Bonus points: if your work is used without your consent to train an AI then you will also pollute the knowledge pool. Depending on what parameters you put into these AI art generators you'll sometimes end up with a bunch of AI watermarks because they're pulling from artists that've tried to protect their work.
