@kidsinthedark-dark
not to be dramatic but we desperately need a punk movement to come in and wash away this Instagram model airbrushed picture perfect trend. it’s so damaging……teens, young adults, kids, the Grown….all of us need to just. we need to be sweaty again. we deserve it smeared eyeliner…..idk just. it’s okay if ur hair is greasy please just relax & then get mad about stuff that’s important to you.
ur twenties are weird. i have the priorities of a kindergartener again. i don’t know what in the hell is going on EVER. i like colors. i like soup. i want to take a nap
I can drink 3 cups of coffee and go straight to sleep, this is just one example of what is fundamentaly wrong with me as a person
How much of the “i hate being an adult” is really just feeling the crushing preasure of capitalism
Bruh like all of it
I keep forgetting that NT people don’t do math the same way people with ADHD do it until I try to explain my thought process and get weird looks from people who are like “how the FUCK did you do that?”
whoops
and for those of you who DON’T know what I’m talking about I’ll give you an example
42 + 29 = 71
for neurotypical people, they use the method we were all taught in grade school where you add 9 + 2 to get 11 and then move the extra one over to make 4 + 2 + 1 which equals 7 to give you 71
but the way I do it (as many other people with ADHD as I’ve come to find out) is this:
okay so you have 42 + 29. if you take 1 away from 42 and give it to 29 to make it an even 30, you now have 41 + 30 which is an easy 71
or, another problem: 53 + 88
round that 88 up to 90 and take the two from 53 so you have 51 + 90. but wait I can make this easier. take 10 more from 51 to make 90, 100 and now you have 41 + 100 which equals 141
it’s just…so much faster? and makes so much more sense to me
also? the math teachers that always took off points for kids not showing their work?
fucking HATED that. as someone who could get from point A to point D in my head in a split second, I felt like showing my work was often a waste of time when sometimes it felt like I just automatically knew the answer
or, if I did put down my work, I went through a process that wasn’t taught and would get points reduced anyway because it wasn’t the way we were taught just because my brain worked differently than the rest of the class. my answer was always right. they just didn’t like how I got it
never did like that muchÂ
also, this is another way of doing it that I just saw on facebook that I’ve also done before
because I do things to that extent too
so if you give me something like 37 + 45 I’ll go “well 30 + 40 is 70 and 7 + 5 is 12 so 70 + 12 is 82″
there’s just…so many ways to do math that make more sense than the way I was taught
this post got a lot more popular than I was expecting wow
I’ve seen some people reblogging this saying they don’t have adhd but have autism and yes! People with autism do this too! I’ve learned that a lot of people with adhd and/or autism do things that overlap and this is one of them!
i’m sorry but these are the only valid tags on this post
New Years is a time to reflect on all the dogs and cats we’ve seen this year, and to look forward to all the dogs and cats we’ll see in the year to come
“lol Android users be like-” your phone is designed to break down after a year, your apps are all programmed to draw unnecessary power after 2 years, all your accessories and hardware are arbitrarily made with only 1 kind of plug in mind so you can’t use them with anything else or get them from anywhere else, the cables are 150$ and break in a year, your phones will not charge if there is lint in the port, the stores will ask you for 150$ to remove that lint, the phone itself is 900$
But your chat bubbles are blue so that balances it out right
they literally removed the audio plugin and called it a benefit that it can now only work with their arbitrary wireless headphones. They coloured the phones a pinky gold and sold it for twice as much.
This isn’t a drag against you this is a drag against apple, the company. Their products are price hiked to an insane, impossible degree. They aren’t selling you the product, they are selling you the superiority of being able to smugly say you have an iphone.Â
They deliberately built up a culture of apple supremacy (especially as a class barrier but i aint even gonna go into that), and now people are making posts like “lmao android users have a bad camera” (they dont) or “lmao android users send bad snapchats” (the android version of snap is deliberately coded to force lower resolution images in order to, surprise, get people saying that exact thing to further encourage #iphoneculture)
Buy an iphone if you want lord knows I’ve bought frivolouss things but can you PLEASE recognize youre being deceived??? theyre playing you every single time you make a post about your iphone and buy into their culture to squeeze more and more money out of you and divide the market and inevitably the classes.Â
If I ever don’t reblog this assume I’m dead
The iphone stands as a testament to the power of brand loyalty. theres no qualitative reason to buy iphones.Â
with the release of the new iphone I would like to bring this post back.
It has a slow motion camera…. ok so when are you going to use that? Is that worth the price? Or are you going to get it just because its the new iphone (and your old iphone is suddenly mysteriously slowing down and having software issues)?
People have this weird belief that if you're critical of a system or tradition, then it must be because you failed to live up to that system or tradition. The idea of having a principled stance, regardless of whether or not *you* personally benefit from society accepting that stance, is foreign to so many people. And this belief is really fucking important for and beneficial to the elites of this country. If you can get the masses to equate criticizing you and the institutions you control with abject personal failure, congratulations, you've just made yourself immune to accountability
There’s a common corollary: that, since someone has failed to live up to a system, any criticisms they have of it are wrong.
Feels like I've drained all my energy motivating and encouraging my friends that I’ve lost motivation within myself to do anything.
The next person who tries to correct me when I say “Happy Holidays” is going to be told Happy Hanukkah instead. Very tired of hearing, “No, it’s MERRY CHRISTMAS.” I’m pretty sure Judaism was around a lot longer than your Buckstar’s boycotting butt, Karen.
My boss once shared a great story about that. This happened when he was in a layover in North Carolina back when the “War on Christmas” bullshit was first becoming prominent. He had gone to get a pack of cigarettes, and after he paid for it:
“Merry Christmas.” “Happy holidays.” “No. I said Merry Christmas.” “Do you know what Hanukkah is about?” “No, what?” “Some people tried to make us worship their ways, so we rose up and killed them. Happy Hanukkah.”
I celebrate Christmas, but generally avoid holiday themed greetings when working as a cashier unless the customer mentions their holiday specifically.Â
The other day, two older ladies were buying briskets and told me they was for their Hanukkah celebration that night, so I responded something like “Well Happy Hanukkah! It’s the third night, right?”Â
I shit you not these two old ladies were so tickled that someone at a store wished them a happy Hanukkah. One of them literally told me I was “the first one to do that”.Â
To those who think there’s a war on Christmas, please get the fuck over yourself and remember that not everyone experiences the world the way you do.
can i add that saying “happy holidays” doesnt mean “not merry christmas” it means “i hope that whatever you celebrate is joyful and peaceful and a good time” like back tf up if you think otherwise
me: I have a really diverse music taste me: *listens to the same song on repeat for three weeks*

Good afternoon, the academic culture of “if you’re not overworking, you don’t deserve success” is unhealthy.
Gee, I never really post but this bugged me a little. There is many reasons as to why a TV show has a 'recap' episode.
It gives people a chance to hype up the season and remind others it's starting back without missing any new plot content. Also, there might be viewers who aren't as invested in the show as some of us are, so a recap episode allows them to be refreshed of what has happened, this is also useful if one has read the manga which is way ahead of the show, reminding them of what arc is being covered in the season. There's probably more reasons as why there is a recap episode.
Anyways, I'm not here to offend anyone and I hope I made sense. Just remember that some people appreciate and need these recap episode's.
Sometimes it feels like time is going by faster than my brain can manage to handle .
