Alecto Carrow.
I've been playing her for around a year now, and I still find her challenging. I use Eliza Dushku for FC and I'm currently playing her two different ways. I have only played her as Marauders Era thus far. On MM: The Carrow family is poor (not as bad as the Gaunts, but certainly working class), and her Mum and Dad are extremely neglectful. I want to say that they are so wrapped up in some kind of dark magic drug (like heroin) that they don't give a shit about anything else. But it might just be drink and depression. Alecto is the eldest and she resents her parents for not caring about her at all. They only had two children because they just needed a son. Amycus is the pride and joy and Al's Mum especially just see's Al as a waste of space, and a nuisance that needs to be married off quickly. Al rebels against this idea a lot. She wants to be seen as more than a pureblood whore (a valuable member of the Death Eaters etc) but loves male attention a little too much. She's very against the idea of getting married but loves to sleep around- mostly with Rodolphus and never with a Muggleborn. Her relationship with her brother is lost at the moment as we don't have an Amycus playing. She's had to learn to control her anger on her own (without much success) and clean up her own messes (again, failing pretty badly). She misses him but resents that he is getting preferential treatment (I imagine he is away getting trained up, while Al is having to learn things the hard way). Ravenclaws were her worst enemies at school. That and a couple Gryffindors. Her and Bellatrix got on semi-well at school. I am pro Bellecto. She's sleeping with Severus- but it's a strained relationship. She treats him like a pet and he hates/loves it. She is partial to knifes, stealing and being dominant. On SS: We have a lovely Am, so the relationship between siblings is something I'm excited to get to grips with. I am pro Carrowcest. I think it makes a lot of sense. This is still new to me, but playing her as the younger and more dependant one. They are more upperclass and Al is spoilt by Am a lot. She's clingy and gets very jealous. She knows her place as a Pureblood woman. They are in the same year, but Am is about 10 months older. Am is a prefect and Al is not, this was very upsetting for Al, she still mopes about it even though it's been 2 years. Very close as children, Al has learnt everything from her brother and looks up to him. Anything Amycus says, she takes as law and would do anything to make him happy. GENERAL HC: When the Carrows are old enough to fight in the first WW: -Both have marks. (Same time? After graduating) -The two siblings do not go to Azkaban until second WW. -They escape abroad and live there for a few years until things calm down. They then return to their family home and take care of their ailing grandparents (perhaps Al kills them out of rage/boredom) (between WWs) -Al and Am are in love with each other. The insest is not a big deal to them, though they know it's not universally accepted hence the secrecy. - The incest is not a big deal because they've grown up only knowing each other and were isolated as children. Because of this, Al does not think that hurting Muggles is wrong. There has never been any kind of morality struggle with her. (It would be interesting to play it differently, but it's just my HC y'know?) The two siblings did exactly what they wanted, whenever they wanted and were taught that Purebloods were good and Muggles were dirty and no better than animals. -They both play minor parts in the first WW and therefore are not called out by name at the Dark Lord's rebirth. -They knew Severus Snape at school, and there is a sense of trust, then distrust. Snape is uneasy about them being in charge of discipline etc because he knows how cruel they can be. -Al has something to do with the death of Benjy Fenwick. 'Found in bits'- I can just see her doing that. -There is a dungeon or basement where the siblings leave 'gifts' for each other. Like muggles strung up. -Al flys off the handle very easily. Am is the only one that can truly calm her down. -Am is the brains, Al is the muscle. (Am calls the shots, Al takes orders) -Al likes hurting people. And she likes it when Am watches. -From the dialogue in the books, I always imagined them as lower class. Fallen from grace, if you will. A bit like the Gaunts. Inbreed and with a lack of manners. The extent of this varies in my head. -Al has a creepy laugh/giggle that gets let out at 'inappropriate' times. -I always float between them being the same age, and Al being much younger. Mostly I like the siblings to be close in age, but Rodolphus to be older. I feel like there is more I'm missing but I just had to get this out of my head.
