The Lofts

Since Nora posted the floorplan for Jean, Cat and Laila's new apartment I've been DYING to recreate it on The Sims. I also found the virtual tour of the place online to use as a reference :)

I also built the Columbia house and Abby's

By the end of TGR they have basically nothing yet, so I decorated here as if they're well into the season and had time to make it homey.

The shared area is definitely my favourite, making the kitchen look ready to be used by Cat and Jean, setting up a new papasan chair for Laila and giving a shelf for Jeremy to display his old Exy trophies. The little shelf near Jean's door also has a plate and, uhm, pot from their ceramics class. I wonder who made each...

The balcony also looks super nice, even if they wouldn't have such a view. Jean has space for his little garden and Jabber can play around.

The bedrooms i kept somewhat sparse, since it's said the furniture was bought mostly to fill their immediate need, but I think between pictures and the incentive of the Floozies even Jean gets a little bit of decor in. We also don't know yet if Jean got one or two beds for the room so... both options here. (I personally hc that Jabber would spend so much time with Jean that they have to get him a little bed by his desk)

It's not a big place, so here are the other rooms. The third bedroom is so tiny that only one desk fits inside, so I gave it to Cat's gaming setup and Laila will study in the kitchen. Also, Jean now has an emotional support bath rubber duck :)

I was too sleepy & distracted to elaborate better last night, so am collecting just a couple stray comments here where they're easier to find:

technically it's a real apartment, I've just tweaked a couple things about the building to suit me better. the floor plan was pulled directly from the website, so don't stress overmuch about the exact furniture displayed. it's also why the bedroom doors look so fkn weird on the layout, the RL apartment has these monstrosities installed that we are Not acknowledging because I think they're awful:

the house had three bedrooms, and there are three residents on the lease, so it was blindly assumed by their uh. new friends. that three bedrooms were required when getting a new place. Laila & Cat have the bedroom with the private bath (top right in original pic). Jean is in the lower left room.

every other place these kids (foxes included) have stayed is based on someplace I've lived; this is the first place that's truly new to me so I needed a reference to rely on. I am Not a visual person whatsoever. unasked-for addition: the difference in distance to campus (X is not precise, just general vicinity).
