Dude showed up to a 13 year old girls celebratory tourney as a squire for his cousin, met some tall ass dude who was vaguely nice to him one time and decided he would be willing to kill and die for him, including going up against not only his own cousin but also almost the entire lineage of the royal fucking family simply because it was The Right Thing To Do.

And he didnt even suck in the fight either, dude knocked down aerion TWICE allowing dunc to get those hits in, was one of the last to get unhorsed, SURVIVED the trial of seven despite being knighted literally about 10 minutes ago (with probably his only battle experience being sparring with his cousin) and lived to create his own branch of the Fossoway house. Put some respect on his name.

jamie being invited for christmas because he’s not going home, and sarah makes sure to get him presents that he’ll like, regardless of practicality because just because he’s an adult doesn’t mean he doesn’t want fun things too

and when sarah says he should wear a christmas jumper when he joins them, and he says he doesn’t have one, she says it’s fine, and when he turns up, she gifts him one that is simultaneously so very him but also so ugly that it puts a beaming smile on his face

jamie phones them for a lift home because his car’s in the shop and he can’t get through to a taxi and it’s pouring rain, and sarah goes to get him and brings a towel because he’s drenched, and she invites him round to theirs if he wants some company

john makes a comment that he hasn’t seem jamie eating much lunch, if any at all, and so sarah sends john with two with little sticky labels on the tubs for each of them

giving him the warmest, softest hugs when he looks so utterly exhausted

reminded him to wrap up warm when it’s cold out

always trusting him to babysit betty

when he’s nervous about something - a date, event, something work related, whatever it is - she’s always there to encourage him, to support him and ensure that he is wonderful as is and anyone that doesn’t think that isn’t worth his time

and if they’re sat next to each other and he’s starting to panic, will give his hand a little squeeze of reassurance, which he appreciated more than she will ever know
