things I associate with the types
ESTP: the earth beneath your fingernails after a long day, waking up feeling full of light and ready to get up, summer evenings, the press of a friend’s hand into yours, tan lines that pop on your skin, the chill of rainwater as it slides through your hair, feet sticking out of car windows, running around backyards as the sunlight fades
ESTJ: the jarring echo of a microphone when bumped, mowed grass, a newly immaculate room with everything accessible, the fresh smell of rental cars, neat calendars pinned above desks, new school supplies stacked up in your room, monopoly games, sliding into a perfectly made bed at the end of a long day, unpacking in a hotel room, taking yourself out for dinner
ESFP: throwing your arm around a friend, gaudy beaded bracelets put together by your little cousin, the quick pant of an excited dog, the smell of campfires, paint stuck in the crevices of your hand, taking neat notes for the kid who’s absent, an instagram full of pictures of you and your friends, screaming the lyrics to songs as you ride down the highway
ESFJ: staying after school to help a teacher clean up, biting your tongue to try to stop laughing during class, a sticky kiss from a child, kindergarten art rooms, listening patiently to stories you’ve heard before, staggering around in your mom’s high heels as a kid, walking around town with ice cream and friends, squeezing lemon juice into your hair
ENTP: having to do a group project by yourself, walking back and forth to calm your excitement, desks cluttered with papers, the sound of quick typing, the rush of relief after walking out of uncomfortable situations, lying to get a reaction out of someone, the sting of tears brought on by anger, the perfect comeback, mascara smeared down your face
ENTJ: protest signs, pinning magazine cut outs to your wall, walking to the front of a room to give a presentation, the click of high heels, tilting your chair back and crossing your arms to show your disapproval, the smell of paint, friendly debates with loud words and wide gestures, losing track of time and blinking tiredly at the clock, perfectly tailored suits left wrinkled on bedroom floors
ENFP: bulletin boards with inspiring quotes, humming along off-key beneath your breath, bare feet on hot sand, pinterest projects, curling ribbon with scissors, sewing your own clothes, improvised road trips, bubblegum pink lipstick, convincing a friend to buy themself that new outfit, silly nicknames, candy wrappers littered on the floor, compliments from strangers in public restrooms, good morning texts
ENFJ: cute notes left in people’s lockers, talking a friend through their self confidence issues, cleaning your room at two in the morning, dark thoughts that only slip into your mind late at night, the press of a kiss to your forehead, picking out your clothes the night before, convincing a friend to come dance with you, the hand on your shoulder
ISTP: taking apart pens and examining the individual parts, spilling out emotions that you’ve kept tightly wound inside, the smell of rubber tires on pavement, writing down your thoughts to better understand them, clenched fists, research papers laid out across a table, jumping off a rock wall and letting the cord catch you, polaroid cameras
ISTJ: setting yourself deadlines, slipping candy to a worried friend, puns, stretching after a long day, downing too much coffee so you can stay up to work, drawing tablets, buying Christmas gifts a month in advance, the smell of grass after a rain, sitting in comfortable silence with a good friend, before and after pictures, old family trinkets
ISFP: petitions passed around classrooms, a friend’s artwork hanging on your wall, the weight of a child on your hip, getting up early to see the sunrise, interior design, vinyl albums, sitting on rooftops with friends, detailed journals from years back stacked in your closet, the warmth of a cat curled up on your lap, sleepy kisses goodnight, the walk up on stage to collect an award
ISFJ: buying friends gifts for no occasion, old photo albums lining bookshelves, waking up knowing that today is not yesterday, holding a bun up with just a pencil, splattered paint on brick walls, doing homework on the way to school, bitten lips rather than angry words, tentative hugs, the smell of vanilla, hair falling in front of your face when you duck your head
INTP: dead languages, long winded speeches that change topics multiple times, sweater vests, chalk boards covered with writing, lost glasses that are on top of your head, botanical gardens, finals week, bouncing up and down on the balls on your feet as you rant, unbrushed hair, library fines, the glow of a laptop late at night
INTJ: packing for college, perfectly winged eyeliner, beakers overflowing with bubbles, schedule overloads, chess games that last until late into the night, the feeling of silk on bare skin, locking your door while working, texting while walking, leaning forwards into discussions with your elbows on the table, rapid-fire conversations, makeup lined up along the sink
INFP: community gardens, braiding flowers into a friend’s hair, giggles, playing guitar to an empty room, yellow daisies, sudden anger, reading by candlelight, unexpected hugs, empty forest paths, make believe, whispers that you know no one can hear, understanding nods during rants, lifting someone up and spinning them around, the smell of new paper, forgotten tea that’s turned cool
INFJ: hanging lightbulbs, thick books where the spine curls inwards, shoulders shaking forwards when you won’t let yourself cry, absent kisses laid on top of heads, lying beside a friend in bed and talking to the ceiling, dessert left at a friend’s door, watching the people below from city windows, little notes from friends kept for years, the key to your childhood diary
I’ve been meaning to add these for a very long time.

Huh, I'm an INTP as well. Holler at your boy
I don’t holler, but hey.
-INTP
ENFP, after meeting someone for the first time: haha I made a new friend! :-)
INTP, about someone she hangs out with: I'm not sure I should use the term "friend" yet. There is still the possibility they hate me.

2. What's the thing you most love about your type? critical thinking
3. What's the thing you most hate about your type? Social situations are hard
5. Are there any stereotypes about your type that you think are wrong? pft, like most of them. There’s a reason I used to think I was an INFP. The main ones that bother me: arrogant, atheistic, scientific, unemotional, unfriendly, geniuses, and serious. None of these are true of me.
6. Have you ever met someone who sahres the same type as you? If so, how's your relationship with that person? Not to my knowledge
11. If you had the chance to change your personality type, would you? If so, which type would you choose? I think it would be neat to be an ISTJ or ENFJ
14. Which MBTI type would you date? I have no experience with dating, but if I ever do date I probably wouldn’t take MBTI into account...IxxP maybe? I dunno.
16.Which MBTI type you don't get along with? I find it hard to relate to ES types

Hi! I've been doing some research on the shadow functions and I'm confused. Some sources say that you can't access your shadow functions at all, or at least you do it very rarely. Others say that you use them like a normal person. If that's true, would you use your inferior function more, or your shadow function? Or do you use inferior more, it's just that you're bad at using it? Thanks. :)
Hi! I’ve seen different opinions, but my opinion is in tagged/shadow+functions. A weak function in your functional stack (i use “functional stack” to refer to a type’s first four functions, excluding shadow functions), like your inferior function, is something you are actively bad at using. It is something you avoid, but is inherently linked to your dominant function and cannot be ignored, the more it is suppressed the more potent it gets. You are worse than most people at using it. A function which is not in your functional stack, a shadow function, is something you don’t really use. You are about average at using it, no noticeable problem using it exactly but you just don’t end up using it much and have no knack for it. You aren’t suppressing it, you just honestly don’t think about it.
A person actively avoids and is bad at their weaker functions like not developed tertiary and inferior, but a person just doesn’t have much of a use for their shadow functions past a basic level. For example, Si is an ENxP’s inferior function. Many ENxPs run away from their past, have problems with accepting past mistakes and circumstances, is terrified by monotony and conformity. On the other hand, Si is the last function in an INxJ’s shadow function stack (their 8th function i guess you could call it). INxJs don’t actively suppress their past, but they are unlikely to think about their past much. They find it pretty easy to move on and naturally pass over their past. An ENxP with undeveloped Si is running from their past, an INxJ is running towards their future without regard for if that is towards or away or what have you from their past. If an INxJ does exhibit behaviors similar to an ENxP in that way, it is for reasons related to another one of their functions (an INFJ not moving on because of their Fe being connected to people, or their Ni over analyzing the past), or because of reasons unrelated to type (an INTJ refusing to go back to their home town because of a horrible childhood).
No problem! That make sense? Again, this is how i see shadow functions, it’s what makes sense to me and what i’ve seen in myself and every other person i’ve typed.
Mbti is Why, not what.
From all my studying of mbti I have found that mbti type isn’t associated with what you do, but why you do it. Some people however still think mbti is a what subject, and thats why a lot of stereotypes arise and a lot of mistypes occur on places like PerC. My point is that thinkers can still cry or do things for the common good, it will just be for a logical reason, as well as not all feelers are crybabies, but they will do everything for a subjective reason. Se users will be creative to have a sensory impact on the outer world or to enjoy the moment and Si will be creative to connect with their past memories( you can usually see it in their art, because their creation will be connected to a past experience in some way). Also, perceivers can be hillariously organized because if they don’t, than the authority in charge of them will take away their freedom to adapt, and judgers might be disorganized to adhere to authority and follow a system. My point is, when typing a fictional character, don’t judge them by their actions, ask yourself why they did what they did and relate that answer to a function. Many people think batman is F because he was protecting the common good, but a wise person would realize that batman did that mainly to promote justice (Te user) and secondarily to get back at the world for them killing his father (tertiary Fi), batman is not INFJ. http://dlvr.it/BDcW6Y

Made this for fun. Sarcastic version of INTP’s cognitive functions.
Hi, so I'm an INTP with friends who are ENTP and INFP, and I don't think I've ever met an INTP without an INFP friend, and ENTPs seem to always get along with me. Do you thinks this Is a thing? BTW, keep doing the stuff, it's great!
Hey there! I have an INFP friend as well and I definitely see a pattern there. INTP/INFP conversations tend to be pretty interesting, since we share a lot of the same values but come at things from different angles (logic vs feelings/values). As far as ENTPs, the only one I know is the one who runs this blog with me (<3) but I think our similarities definitely bridge the introvert/extrovert gap :^) So short answer, yeah it’s probably a thing. Thanks!
~the INTP
Why does everything become about 200% less interesting when you’re obligated to do it?
The Types and Why They Hate You
ISTJ: Because they can’t count on you for anything.
ESTJ: Because you publicly humiliated them.
ISFJ: Because you belittled their emotions.
ESFJ: Because you never go anywhere with them.
INFP: Because they think you’re being fake.
INFJ: Because you made them feel like their emotions were invalid.
ENFP: Because they think YOU hate THEM.
ENFJ: Because you just can’t see their point of view.
ENTP: Because you made them feel really stupid.
ENTJ: Because you suck at life.
INTP: Because you keep asking them why they look so upset.
INTJ: Because you’re an idiot.
ESFP: Because you’re a complete and total buzzkill.
ISFP: Because you said something they created was stupid.
ESTP: Because you never want to go outside.
ISTP: Because you never want to try anything new.
THIS IS SO ACCURATE Y’ALL. Two of my best friendships started out as mutual hatred because I thought they hated me.
What are your best witty combacks?
Um, ok.
I know you are, but what am I?
COME AT ME BRUH/FIGHT ME
-The ENTP
INTP edit: Believe it or not we do both have our moments, however the best comebacks are circumstantial, so basically you had to be there :P
As an another ENTP *im ENTP* what is your ideas and thoughts about the HUMANS ~ Yaaaay entp and humans party ✨ Feel free to say whatever about them its important ~
Hi ENTP, this is ENTP, and they seem a lovely species, though a self-destructive one!
-The ENTP
I’m doing a legit survey 4 realsies and I need the collective opinions of tumblr for some reason.
If you think people who make posts like these are full of crap, reblog this omg!!1!
If you trust everything you read on the internet, like this and then send me your bank account details.
