Fun fact: Tibetan Mastiffs were often “paired” with Tibetan Spaniels. The Tibetan Spaniel is a natural-born tattle tale and would run along monastery walls to keep an eye out for intruders. Upon spotting someone suspicious they would go get the big dog.

My favorite part of the model sheets is when they draw a little Naruto head to show the height difference.

They are rare. Extremely rare mostly because anime takes place where the artist knows. Japan. Soul Eater is a rare case because it’s completely out of the real world. Yes there are real world places but not as many

I find darker/black people very hard to draw. Not cause of my style, but because just making their skin darker doesnt always work? But i do love seeing dark skinned characters and tend to at least try to include some skin color varieties in my art, even if light skin is the most common color I use lmao.

I’m black and I’ll say it’s not easy. When I started drawing there was very little reference material and that hasn’t exactly changed today.

I had to take what I learned traditionally and distill it down to something pliable to my Frankenstein art style inspired by Western Comic, gekiga and bishonen.

That being said I’m inclusive when I see fit and not just inclusive for inclusive sake.

Short answer because I have to run to work: before I got anywhere near comfortable with my art style I was still developing it and figuring out what works for me. What time is earlier I didn’t have any teaching references. Is one thing to see the finished product and another thing to see how they got there. While I’m no stranger to a lot of black cartoonist I was still trying to my own. Making it work for me and being satisfied with it was one of the hardest parts. I know that isn’t answering thing but I’ll get back to this later

It’s been my dream for as long as I could remember. It means too much to me to leave my stories solely in anyone else’s hands. I have to put the work in.

I have never been a good talker. But art has been my loudest voice when I felt like I had no voice worth listening to. It’s what kept me going through the hardest parts of my life. remember.

So whenever I feel like I’m being told how to express MY OWN VOICE I am instantly ready to rumble.
