What am I even doing?
If you’re here, then I must be too
We are doing this again?
I’m back
It’s been a while but to remind everyone, and maybe myself more than anyone, here’s who I run:
Fandomless Faerie OC - @scarletsilkpoppy
Merlin’s Sir Leon - @kingsloyalknight
Grown up Matilda Wormwood - @matildalovesbooks
Highlander’s Methos - @beerandsarcasm (and OC @venus-libertina)
MCU Centric Steve Rogers - @steve-rogers-the-captain (was in process of migrating from @steve-rogers-rp)
Everyday Peeps in London RP - @connie-harper (and her family: @patrick-temples, @bea-bee-tee & @templeollie)
Personal blogs - @rosebudwhite (@rosebudwhite-extra @rosebudwhite-writes)
I will be restarting very selective RP, I need some serious partners with decent plots or I’m just going to stay plotting in my little offline AU
* STEVE SPECIFIC NOTE *
I will no longer be taking on romatic relationships - there are several that have long term chemistry and I will be happy to pick those up again with the people in question, if they would like, but dating is hard with too many women to keep track of!! Give me a plot that has some meat to it instead and I will happily consider it
To be fair - Leon could do with a few more damsels...

Morgana laughed again, her mothers cooking was similar but she had always enjoyed it. “No, its fine” she nodded and stepped away back to where she had been sat before he entered. “I think I needed a welcome break from my reading.”
Leon smiled and gave a gentle bow. “Then I am at your ladyship’s service. Whatever distraction you wish and that I can provide.”
He pulled out a chair opposite her own and with a raise of his eyebrows silently asked if he could sit. Their status’ of birth held them as equals yet it did not do well to join a lady without a full invitation.
“You knew the old king well, then?” She asked, smiling down at the knight before looking around at her surrounding again. She would have to make her way back here one day, the place just felt right to her. She imagined her summoning would be better here… maybe more life like. Though as directionally challenged as she is, Nerissa doubted she’d make it back.
“Hm, I didn’t think of it much like that.” So knight were basically that police? Just maybe a teeny bit more honest? She knew that knights fought in wars and rode in tournaments…. but that was basically all of her knowledge about them, or their code of honour.
Nerissa could not help feeling slightly guilty as she looked back to the knight. She had just, in effect, stolen his ride. “Sir, may I ask? Why do you not ride too? Surely it would make for a quicker journey?”
“I was King Uther’s squire for a time. He taught me most of what I know.” Leon patted the horse’s neck as they made their way over the well worn route back towards Camelot.
He looked up at the woman with a look of shock, and his feet stumbled for half a step, at her last question. “My lady, I cannot. I barely know you, a maid, and as a knight I cannot compromise your honour.”
Leon blushed. He knew it was a practical solution, yet... if she had been sick or injured, or if he had been Gwaine, he would not hesitate but there was just something within him that told him it would be wrong.
“It is not far.” The horse began to travel up a bank, “we are not far, and it would take longer with the weight of two.”
" We need to find shelter. We can continue in the morning when it’s light again.” ( From Camelotsheir )
“But Sire-” Leon’s voice dropped away as he saw the determination on his King’s face. Normally they would sleep under the stars but the rain had been lashing down sideways for most of the day. Waking to wet boots was never a fun prospect. “Understood. There were caves above us in the hills half a mile back?”
That had done it, it seemed. As soon as he lay on solid earth and the bed of moss was no longer below his brow, lashes fluttered and soft clear blue eyes focused on his knight. His very concerned knight
“ …. Why are you looking at me like that, Sir Leon? It’s very off putting to wake up to. “ He murmured out, moving to sit up on his own. “ Is it my turn already? I was having the most remarkable dream, I never wished to wake from. “
“You nearly didn’t, sire.” Leon crouched down lower and peered at the other man’s face. “I could not rouse you... you were in some sort of-” He hated to use the word without evidence but all signs did point to it. “You seemed to be enchanted. Yet suddenly...” Leon peered around and looked closer at where Arthur had been lying. “This cave is... Maybe the moss?” He hated to be so unsure.
m-pendragon:
Morgana had never been to Camelot. No, perhaps that was a lie. She’d been there once or twice as a young child - had to have been, with her father’s closest friend upon the throne. Gorlois had been a man of honour, and it stood to reason that when Vivienne still lived, he’d occasionally brought his family to Uther’s (plentiful) victory celebrations. But then her mother had passed away, and Morgana - if she’d ever travelled before - found herself homebound as her father strove to keep her safe, long before she ever had any memories of Camelot or first impressions of Uther Pendragon. In light of the current situation, she held little hope for a good first impression on either account. A mere day had passed between the death of her father and the message from the King. Morgana had heard the accounts, firsthand, from the scant handful of her father’s surviving men: they had been promised reinforcements that they did not receive. The Northern Plains were soaked with the blood of good men, her father chief among them. Uther wasted no time in reaching out (evidently guilt was far more compelling than the threat of losing the man he’d regarded as his best friend): with her parents dead and an empty home surrounding her, Uther felt that the only proper place for Morgana was within his court. Necessity won out over pride. Her arrival in Camelot was, needless to say, not a happy affair. The carriage ride was a long one, and by the time it drew to a halt in the courtyard at Camelot, Morgana was more than ready to disembark, reservations about her new home notwithstanding. Cheerful sunshine greeted her when the carriage door swung open. Morgana set her shoulders, held her head high, and stepped out of the carriage with as much decorum as she could muster. The hand that caught hers was steady. Morgana gave Leon a grateful glance before looking around the courtyard. Her wandering eye inevitably landed on the wagon following hers - Gorlois, to be interred within Camelot. Her heart ached. Morgana tore her gaze away from the wagon and turned her attention back to Leon, mustering a polite smile that didn’t quite touch the corners of her eyes. He wore the knight’s garb well - it was a safe enough assumption, she surmised, to believe that he was in charge at present. “Morgana Le Fay,” she offered, inclining her head a little; she’d not heard it announced. “Thank you for your help, Sir…?”
Leon tore his eyes from her hand to her face and could not help the wide eye look of shock he gave the young woman. This he had not expected. Open the door, lead the way. They had not said anything about what to do if she had spoken to him.
“Err, Leon.” He bowed his head slightly, “sorry, I’m Sir Leon, my lady.” He added quickly. This was not going well. He held her hand gently as she disembarked and began to take stock of the courtyard. He followed her gaze and squeezed her hand a little in sympathy. “I am sorry for your loss, my lady.” He did not what else to say, what else can you say to one in such a moment of grief?
Instead he kept his mind on practical matters. “I am to take you to your quarters, you will have time enough to refresh from the journey before you meet with the King. He himself spends time in mourning.”
It was not the Knight’s place to say how much was too much but the King’s vigil in the chapel was becoming the subject of court gossip already.

“Uh, oh, I am so sorry, your Ladyship.” Leon bowed as low as he could, mentally kicking himself for not paying better attention to who it was before he spoke. “I thought you might be my squire.” He ran his hand through his hair, as he stood back up, to wipe some of the sweat away and ran over to retrieve his own spare sword. “I, truly, am very very sorry.” His mouth went dry when faced with the young woman. “Er, so how is your stay in Camelot?”

Nori rolled her eyes at the clip on the back of her head, “gerrroff, “ she grumbled, “and so you have to show yourself worthy? Seems a strange way to prove yourself, trying to knock yourself off horses. Why not just have a race?” The girl frowned, “oh I get it,” she said, “so ya can prove how big and manly ya are. Mr I’m the Strongest Knight ”
Now she’d done it, “well before ya can move my lance training up, why are ya wasting time talking to me, when there’s a ring ya need to go to?” she asked, “get a move on. Need me to wait somewhere?“
Nori was lucky he couldn’t hit her from this height, so the second insult went unchastised. But she was right. Leon was already late, so he could do nothing more than growl in his throat as he spurred the horse into a walk, and nodded his head to show she should follow. “I need you at my end of the run, you will need to grab the lance that I request - there are five set up, but I will only use three, the others are of different weights, which I may use depending on how my opponent reacts to the first. With me so far?”

“Thank you,” Leon turned and looked properly. “I am so sorry Cleta… I thought you were a squire, I would not have been so rude.” He ran his hand through his hair to wipe some of the sweat away. He took the sword from the girl and deposited the one he had blunted into the straw beside him. “How are you finding your feet in the castle? Is it a month now that you have been with us?”

“Gwen!” Leon turned and looked properly. “I am so sorry... I thought you were a squire.” He ran his hand through his hair to wipe some of the sweat away. “The irony, is it not? I taught him for the first few years and now? He keeps surprising me with his initiative. He is becoming a formidable commander.” He took the sword from the girl and deposited the one he had blunted into the straw beside him. “But I’m sure there was more to your visit than just this?”

Nori smirked, “and how long do ya think that a beer crate and old door would last with Gwaine around?” She stared at the orange legs, the striped blue and shook her head, “only someone who thinks that monstrosity is a work of art.” She looked around, then spotted one in the corner, “how about that one?” Nori headed for the smaller, round table made of a darker wood. She examined the price tag, “forget it, I’m not rich. Like ya said, practically still students.”
“Then let’s forget it.” Leon threw up his hands in exasperation before he glanced at his watch. “We could try another shop tomorrow, as it’s nearly closing...” His eyes made another sweep of the shop, making sure they hadn’t missed anything. That was when he spotted a simple wooden table at the back of the shop they had somehow missed, but more importantly it had a red sale sticker on it. “Come on!” He grabbed Nori’s hand and dragged her over.

Her head tilted when she noticed the sly expression come over the man. At first the only thing Monarch had in mind was to try her hand at their archery range. However, what Leon didn’t know about the princess was that sneaking away from responsibility for a little while was a terrible habit of hers. The idea of seeing a new place never failed to tempt Monarch. “Well, both ideas sound fine to me, if I’m honest.” her arms fold across her chest, “Do you have one you’d prefer?”
Leon gave a laugh and pushed the end of his sword into the hay by his feet. “There’s a crossbow with your name on it, if you want to let off some steam, or there’s the Rising Sun? If you really want to discover the ‘real’ Camelot, the Lower Town is the place to go.” He inspected Monarch carefully. “I am not on duty until tomorrow now, I was only letting off my own steam as it was a most uneventful day for me too. So I can be at your ladyship’s service wherever she would like to go.”

“I’ve shot a little. Will– my friend, back in Ealdor– used to have a crossbow from his late father. We’d mess around with that, but it was never proper stuff. Then it broke, and I didn’t touch another until I came to Camelot.” He shrugged a little, still pink from embarrassment and from the applause both. “From there it’s just, sometimes I pick up crossbows when Arthur and the knights he’s with get attacked. Don’t have much of choice, and I’d rather at least try to help out than just lay down and die.”
It was a lot different than many of them noticed, but it definitely wasn’t a lie. He was fond of helping where he could, and when his magic was not a viable option, there were limited options available to him. “Arthur’s taught me a bit about a sword, but not really anything else.” Sword basics and how to use a shield– that was mostly his repertoire of expertise in the field of battle.
Leon’s attempt at showing off certainly worked. He blinked, his lips parting just slightly in surprise. Yes, he knew the knights were talented. He knew that there was a reason Leon was the head knight. But in the midst of battle, there wasn’t time for gloating, and during training, his eyes mostly stayed on Arthur. To see this blatant show of skills– well. It was more than a little impressive. “Whoa. Um, yeah, alright. Probably best to keep trying, yeah?” Merlin gave a crooked grin. He then turned back to the dummies and tried again. Five shots later, three having hit in various spots and two in the hay behind, he looked to Leon for appraisal.
“I think Merlin, that you are probably worth several knights on your own.” Leon jogged to the other end of the yard, retrieving the bolts. Another thing that went unnoticed when Arthur was not around, not every one had a Merlin to do their leg work. “Keep the bow, practice every day, at least 20 shots, 50 if you have time. You’ll be saving Arthur’s life more than you do now.” He jogged back and handed over the arrows. “But more importantly, you’ll be saving yourself. Nothing worse than feeling helpless on a battlefield.” A thought crossed his mind. “How much time do you get off? I confess I spend more of my freetime in the barracks than when I’m actually on duty... But you? I could speak to Gwaine about your sword work, Percival for some hand to hand?”
Update
You know that ‘getting overwhelmed’ thing we discussed at the relaunch? With certain RL events, I took a while to come back and the longer I did, the more guilt I felt.
So I’m going to spell it out - I will be queuing all replies with posts at 3, 6 and 9pm GMT.
I may well deviate for the odd post that I’m excited to further plots on, but this won’t be the norm - with 3 main muses (Poppy, Steve and Leon) I need to regulate how quickly replies come back to me on each one!
I like RP and I love the whole interaction with characters and muns I’d never normally encounter but I have a life - I work, I have family, I have RL friends and a *whole* AU life with my BFF to cultivate!
I will never be quick but I will also never knowingly drop threads for no reason!
Love to you all!
