This is something that I’ve been thinking about, but considering the frequency in which this blog is targeted by trolls, I do have a lot of security concerns.

I could accept maybe one or two more writers and one more artist for the comics.

Anyone who is interested in this can message me off anon or reply to this post, and if I get enough responses, I’ll create an application form and pick the team from there.

i haven't cheked on kinstories in a while and now i've found this new blog and a new site, but the question is still: is the initiative still active?

I’ve been moving really slowly the last few months because of health and financial issues, but I am definitely still running KS and I’m get some new stories going soon.

Now Introducing: Sneak Peeks By Mx V!

Is the status bar on the side of the site not enough for you?  Do you want to see updates on how the stories are progressing?  Do you like previews?

Enter in Sneak Peeks, a new blog dedicated to giving updates on my progress and maybe a quote or two from the story involved.  I’ll even answer questions about the writings or anything else (within reason, harassment / inappropriate asks will be deleted and blocked), should any arise, if time and energy permit.  

This blog will not be posting in any tags and this is the only post I’ll make about it, so here is your chance to hop on board if you’re interested or to share it with those who might be.

With this blog, you can ask about story progress (ie: I sent in x request, how far up is it in the queue? / What story are you working on? / How many words do you have so far?) or about the writing in general (ie: How do you plan your stories? / Where do you get your inspiration? / How long have you been writing?) or even about me as long as you're respectful.

If you really like the stories but hate waiting for them to be released, this might be the blog for you.

If you want a story written for you and want it done first and quickly, you can purchase one and specify how soon you need it done as well as choose whether it will be made publicly available or sent privately to you.

Tumblr is really awesome, and that’s why we’re all here.  However, I know a lot of us end up needing to spend time away from Tumblr because of hate, harassment, and other unpleasant (to say the least) things.

Because of this, KinStories created a social network / forum to give kin a safe, moderated space to express themselves and chat freely.

Some really cool features are:

Personal profiles with status updates, photos and videos, and even a mini blog!

CSS profile customization — make your profile match your tumblr’s aesthetic! Woo!

A Friend system

Private messaging between users

Block users so you can’t see their posts and they can’t contact you

Full control over who can see the individual elements of your profile (that means you can make it so blocked users can’t see your stuff!)

And finally, an Admin who will actually respond to “report user” messages and ban evildoers.

Does this sound good to you?  Here’s how you sign up:

Step 1: Sign up with Yuku here.  

Your gender choice is irrelevant—it won’t show up on your profile anyway.  

Make up a first/last name if you’d like.  You’re the only one who will see it.

Step 2: Apply to the forum by clicking on one of the sections.

All of the sections are locked to anyone who isn’t a member of the forum

You’ll get a message when you’ve been approved.

Step 3: Yay! You’re on the forum!  Tell your friends!  Start some conversations!  Party!

Applying for the Forum

It has come to our attention that there may have been a misunderstanding about forum applications.

After you sign up with Yuku and make your profile, you apply to the forum by visiting the forum and clicking on a section, which will take you to an application page that you fill out. Then you wait to be approved as a member.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear about this before.

If you've already signed up with yuku, you can send me your yuku url via ask (not anonymous!) or fanmail and I'll invite you; then you can just accept the invite and get posting.

And. We. Are. Back!

Yes!  You may have seen me yammering on about this on my personal blog, but here's the official announcement: Kinstories is coming off of hiatus.

We even have a few surprises for you; a brand new website, new stories, and yes, our first comic are all going to be there for you... soon.  We are currently wrapping up development on the new site, and once it's done, the library will be yours to explore again.

Story and comic requests are open again but only via tumblr ask until the new site is launched.  

If you're excited by all of this now, you can head on over to our brand new, fully monitored Forum to meet up with other kin, chatter about, and get away from trolls and gore posts.  If some unscruptulous individual makes it onto the forum, you can not only report them but block them until I can remove them from the community.

The forums are only accessible to those who are members of the forum, which means there's an approval process.  You'll be notified when you've been approved.

Note: the sign up process looks like it's forcing you to choose between male/female as gender.  This is not the case; regardless of your choice, your profile will not display a gender unless you decide to.  Frankly, I'm not even sure why that question is there.

I am so close to just completely shutting down this project.

This fighting has completely gotten out of hand and lost all hope for civility.

I’m actually afraid to publish requests now, because I don’t trust that there won’t be hatefulness in the notes about who requested it (or who could have requested it if it’s anonymous).

I have stated many times now that hateful messages will not be tolerated, and the influx of hatred I have received from users angry about my use of pronouns for gods' sakes, for the characters is uncalled for, ridiculous, and seems to be directly related to the arguing.

KinStories is taking an indefinite hiatus. I might continue writing in this time, but nothing new will be added to the library until the situation calms down.

Requests are now turned off, and the library is closed until further notice.

Please forgive us for posting this message in all tags; rest assured it is the first and last time we will do so.

Before I give the announcement, I feel I must explain a few things:

1: This is a public library.  Libraries are made available to the public regardless of an individual's personal status, convictions, or affiliations.  That is why you will not see any of the arguments here, and that is why we delete messages pertaining to them.  As a library, this is not the place; you will find our opinions on our personal blogs and you can speak to us about them there.

2: Sending us hateful material will not cause us to align with your beliefs.  In fact, all it does is ban you from ever submitting prompts to us again.  This is a public resource and will remain one regardless of the opinions or convictions of its members.  A librarian not liking you will not ban you from a library, but if you assault the librarian, you will be banned.  Understand the difference.

Now that that is out of the way, I would like to make our announcement.

Kinstories will no longer be posting in any of the regular tags, but will instead be making its own tag and posting in #KinStories 

I suggest either tracking our blog or that tag if you wish to receive our updates.

We are making this move because we have received many messages from users uncomfortable with our posting in certain tags.  As there is no tag that is welcoming for everyone, we will simply make our own and post there.

We ask that you not post in the #KinStories tag unless you are talking about us or our writing.

As always, you may reblog any or all of our posts to whatever tags you wish.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding, and we hope that this move will be for the benefit of the library and its patrons.
