Nomenclature
Intellect.
Mission "Genesis", Entry 10. I may have underestimated this thing. So I attempted verbally interacting with it. It responds. It asks questions in a certain intonation and with a very specific sound for it. It's like it is completely sapient and intelligent. While I cannot understand what it says, it does try to communicate. I threw some items into the cage. It can write. Its writing system goes very similar to latin scripts. It seems to write vertically in some parts too. I am not sure what for. It also attempted to break the cage with the pen. It did not succeed, and they seem to be ambidextrous, with vertical scrupting predominantly done with the left hand instead. I don't wish to train it our languages, but maybe I can study and learn its phonetics through correlation. I got an apple from the rest bay and it did not eat. Then I tried other fruits. It does not interact with red coloured fruits, sniffs yellow ones, then tries pressing them down. It eats green ones, but since the only green fruit available was a lime, it regretted it near immediately. It did enjoy the lettuce and spinach. It only trusts natural coloured fruits. I am not sure why the yellow ones speciffically are treated differently. Maybe biologists could explain it with some examples of ancient fauna. I should try testing for chromatic vision on it, together with some cognitive testing under artificial gravity. The rest of the crew is soon to return, and I will share my findings with them. This is a lot of interesting information. hopefully I get to learn more before we have to send it back. This is Taylor Parrsec, Terminate Session.

Moon
Mission "Genesis", Entry 9.
We're about to land on the planet's natural satellite, but there are no more resources there for us to send the rabbit back to the surface, meaning we will have to take it all the way to our Sector Station and send it back from there instead. It has been inactive in the first few hours or slumber, but it did eventually wake up and is very agressive towards anyone comeing close to the cage. It is agressive to the cage itself. They're putting me under the responsibility of taking care of our new guest, since I was responsible for taking it with me in the first place. Soon we have to acquire resources from the old base in the satellite, meaning I'll be alone with the creature inside the ship for a while. I am not sure if it even recognises me. It just seems to attack everyone. If anything, I am impressed that these little guys have a society. Hopefully we manage to keep it safe until returning it to Earth I. Even if I do want to learn more about it. Maybe I could use my time left for it. We have a few more days ahead until we get to the Station, afterall. This is Taylor Parrsec, Terminate Session.

Contact
Mission "Genesis", Entry 8. This is gonna be a long one, but it has to be said. My submission went badly. I made contact with the species. So at the start of the day I attempted reasoning my short leave so close to departure with research, but I doubt any of my crew members bought it. I still managed to sneak out and locate the rabbits. I followed them from a distance and tried taking as many personal notes as I could, but I got no new relevant data apart from the fact they already live in sedentary society. I know that because I accidentally made contact with the tribe and invaded their territory. They seemed more scared than brave, but still attacked me. I didn't make out unscathed. I managed to fetch pictures and samples of their culture, as us humans usually do, and something else from them, which might become a problem eventually. As I was riding my way back, the bike actually ran out of power, so I had to run back to the ship, which was about to leave, but thankfully they did wait for me. As the ship came to view, all of them stopped attacking me with their spears, but I still felt something hitting me, and it was heavy and spiky. I did manage to jump into the ship before it took off. Obviously, I was scolded afterwards and the loss of material was cut from my salary, but at least I contributed to science somewhat. What I did not expect is what I found glued to my back. I only realised once the ship started lifting off the ground that I had a specimen of the New Earth Rabbit stuck to me. It now seemed even more scared. I believe it tried ambushing me instead of using weaponry like its other members. We tried locking it inside a cage for safety, but it was really active and defensive. We needed 3 people to hold it in place and put it in the cage. I had to be rushed to the medical bay for bandaging. I hope we can find a way to send it back to Earth from the Moon before we leave to return to our Sector Station. I hope it does not attack us while we travel. We gotta figure out what it eats. Sunlight
Mission "Genesis", Entry 7. As we leave from our chambers and observe the outside, we notice the desynchronization between the planet's Daylight cycle and human time. It has been many millenia since the last 24 hour day in Earth I. Our time tables say that the surface describes a cycle of over 25 hours. We were lucky to land somwhere around the time these tables coincidentally lined up, even if just for a few days before the Sun started rising very late. That aversion aside, we started preparing the ship for take off. I however, will attempt to have one last chance to observe the rabbits closer. I scheduled one hour of energy for the land bike in the cargo bay. I will take the girl out for a ride and get what I can before we have to leave. I am writing this down in official documentation despite being subject of outlawing exploration and research guidelines, but at this point "for science" is an actual reason. Either you lab rats researchers of the Union get more data for free, or I go to jail, and I accept both endings.

Record
Mission "Genesis", Entry 6. I got video footage of the "New Earth Rabbit" taken from a distance. I think it actually saw me, but didn't actually mind. In the footage, I manage to catch one of its calls and a conversation with another member of the species as they wobble in two hind legs towards south. They sound so human, yet nothing alike. I can hear animal like hisses, but also vocal patterns like pitch and vowels. It seems they don't use a tongue for speech, however. I could only register air phonetics and mouth movements. I had to cut the video short for crew was reporting the last samples and had to go back to the ship for counting, but I caught a glimpse of what seems to be a hideout for the rabbits. I will attempt to investigate this tomorrow, but it will have to be quick, for it is the last day of our mission before heading to the planet's natural satellite for resources and No-Return travel back to our sector station a few light-days away. Rabbit
Mission "Genesis", Entry 4. We were collecting dirt and plants for hours. I managed to bare all that work by looking for the creature in the meantime. Observing it from a distance, I found they are a group of a few. I managed to note down what was shared and individual in the species. They seem to grow at the same rate and not change much in height. And they don't seem to be a dimorphic species. Either the females and males are very similar, or homosexual mating is common among them. I will finish my duty and provide an elaborate illustration of the creature once I'm back in the spacecraft. The sounds they make are incredibly eerie. Are they speaking in a common language? I wish I had the time to document it, but we are not allowed to interact with fauna.

Soil
Mission "Genesis", Entry 3. Morning procedure completed, everyone is ready for the sample duty while Soreh is heating up the sensors. He will accompany us outside to collet atmospheric data and record the composition of any samples we bring. Teamwork at its finest. I am bringing my notepad to try and scriblle the appearance of the creature I found yesterday. Maybe it is a new species of existent genus, or something entirely new. I had to recheck the ULP records on nomenclature, and we are not allowed to name a species after ourselves. I have to think of something while we document the species and find its genus if they match any of the existent entries. While us explorers and researchers aren't allowed to interact with wild exofauna at first, I still think I have to get closer to see it propperly. This might not go well, but I can say it is for science and anyone believes it. We haven't changed that much in the last millions. Whoever is reading this, check if there are more entires after this one.
