MEMORY UNLOCKED!!! my best friend growing up had this on audio TAPE - so it was multiple casette tapes. So technically I listened to it, not read it. I would have been about 9 or 10 years old. I just looked them up on eBay and apparently they are from 1993.

I was a huge bookworm as a kid, & I still love reading. I am not big into audiobooks as an adult (I am 33), but think it's funny that this was technically my first full audiobook, we were both kids listening to these. It was super captivating though.

Somebody at work keeps adjusting one of the perimeter cameras to have this beautiful artistic angle on the museum in a historical building across the way. The sun sets just behind it and the whole sky turns golden-blue, clouds streaked across the sky above. The lush tree line beneath the museum is perfectly lined up along the rule of thirds and the building itself towers above, almost mythical in its evening glory. Like damn, take a still from this camera and send it to the museum to frame and hang on their wall. I do need the camera to be pointing at the parking lot. Tho

The setting sun bounces off the skyscrapers downtown and hits the museum's windows and every one of them turns the same golden hue as the sky behind, reflected in the trees just starting to turn golden-orange beneath. The bottoms of the clouds take on the slightest tinge of purple and birds circle above, speckling the evening sky as they call autumn's last farewell. “Do it scared” “do it alone” are all great tips, but my biggest takeaway from therapy is do it messy. This is especially true if you’re getting out of a burnout, which I experience often. Literally just do it messy. You don’t need to pick the perfect trail to walk, the perfect playlist to listen to, whatever the fuck it is. You don’t need to have a meticulous to do list and wake up at the exact time you planned and drink the exact amount of water you planned to drink. Like the biggest thing for people like me to remember is sometimes it’s okay to do it messy. Put on a random yt workout and just get it done in sweats. Do 5 minutes of a daunting task and go from there. Sometimes just getting up is a win during intense burnouts or depressive funks. Literally just do it messy.

there is a part of an essay that someone wrote, about what love and marriage means to her, that rips me apart. reading how she articulates the preciousness and power of what her and her wife have really does rend me asunder with powerful, devastating emotions. and i have no idea how to explain that that "someone" is a woman who spent a year impersonating and parodying Halimede where the bit was just "married Halimede" (this is not to be confused with the ongoing act of parody known as Halimede herself)
