Ah, the feeling you get when you watch a blooper reel, and find yourself thinking "yeah, I could show this to someone who lived five thousand years ago, and they'd laugh, too".
I voted yes bc the average earnings of a 'good' salary here, that only around 30% of working people have, are around 800 per month, 9000 something a year. So how about everyone voting 'No' here organices a protest or something demanding the FMI and friends to forgive debts of the global south
not only is money sent to Palestine by humanitarian groups getting blocked by international banks, this also applies to regular people who are trying to send money to friends or relatives in Gaza while living abroad.
my dear friend @bilal-salah0 has to face ridiculous challenges in transferring funds to his family of 18 people. he cannot transfer the funds from his german bank account directly, but needs to pass them through another country first. this means he is faced with extremely high transfer fees. on top of that, he was the victim of extortion by his exploitative ex-employer/landlord.
please help him reach his goal of €110,000 in 10 days so he can help his family survive!
donations have been coming in very slowly. so far, he has reached:
€102,314 / €110,000, €7686 still to go
[verified here, #132, line 136] [GFM here]
please don't let him and his family down. he doesn't deserve what's happening to him.
tagging for reach under the cut, please lmk if you'd like to be removed:
Hi, my name is Naomi, and I’m from Texas. I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my friend, Ahmed Abu Al-Rish, who is in Gaza. This fundraiser is meant to help him and his family escape the genocide.
“Hello, my name is Ahmed, 19 years old from Gaza. I finished high school with a high average and a very good grade, and because of the genocide war on Gaza, I was deprived of enrolling in university. I had dreams and ambitions to study photographic design, but I was deprived of all of that because of the genocide war on Gaza. I was living the best days of my youth. But with the beginning of this war, I became unable to live my normal life. At least our warm house sheltered me and my family until it was bombed for the first time, that damned night. Our house has become like a ghost town. We continued to seek refuge from death there until we were besieged and displaced from our safety under fire to a tent (shelter) in the bitter cold of winter, with the lack of basic necessities of life (water pollution, high cost of living, disease, insect infestation,
malnutrition,
Difficulty of movement, overcrowding), and many other daily difficulties, especially with the significant increase in prices. This was not the first time we had to be displaced. We moved again from a tent in Rafah to another tent in Khan Yunis. I then returned to our destroyed home to repair what we could to find shelter for my family, despite not having all the basic necessities of life (destroyed sanitation infrastructure and water lines, destroying any form of life). Please help me achieve my dream of completing my academic career at university and for my family to survive this genocide and escape to a safe place. And travel ❤️❤️”

🛑ON THE LAST DAY OF AUGUST, MAKE A MEMORY FOR AN ORPHAN‼️
Lolo the only survivor after a massacre was committed against my family by bombing our house. I can't bear to lose her after losing many of my family members. We saw all kinds of death from bombing, hunger and diseases. Surviving so far is exhausting. Please, any amount will save her life.
I trust in your humanity. Don't leave me alone

gazafunds seeks to uplift stagnant or otherwise struggling fundraisers for gazans seeking evacuation or simple necessities. i know many of the images crossing your feeds today are harrowing and impossible to fathom, but those in the line of fire need your help, not your complacency. gazafunds also urges those who are able to adopt a fundraiser to amplify to do so (you can contact them via their twitter.)
Today we took our little brother to the hospital because he suffers from an infection that affects his breathing and causes him pain. I hope that every living conscience will help us save our young son’s life and donate any amount you can.
Unfortunately, there is no treatment in the hospital for my little. Help us before it is too late.
Hello, I'm Muhammad Musa, a 26-year-old from Gaza. I’m married and have a child born during the war. I’ve faced immense hardships, including being forced to flee multiple locations on foot with only basic clothing and limited money. I set up a tent for shelter and my wife had to give birth in these harsh conditions, lacking essentials like diapers and milk.
After losing our home, dreams, and job over the past 10 months, I’ve created a donation account to provide a better life for my family. We need your help to escape Gaza and protect our child from diseases. Even a small donation of $20 can make a significant difference in saving our lives. Thank you.

Hello my friends all over the world
I am Nour Ashour from Gaza, 29 years old I am marrie… Mohammed Ashour needs your support for Help us sa
@noor-y-ashour , @amalashuor ‘s sister, is having a hard time getting her GoFundMe off the ground. (You might’ve also seen Nour through her first campaign blog @nourashoure44, which Nour iirc has been suspended from.)
Nour's campaign has been shared by @/90-ghost. She has also been verified by Amal, whose own campaign is #175 on the verified fundraiser list.
The campaign is moving very slowly. It's been up since July 18, but it's still sitting at only £517 out of £80,000. That's only .65% of their goal.
I've talked with Nour over this past week, and she's very worried for her family. Her 4-year-old son Muhammad was born with hypotonia and needs regular physical therapy -- which, obviously, has stopped after the Ashour family was displaced.
Muhammad's condition has since deteriorated, and the situation for the Ashour family -- Muhammad, Nour, her husband and her other child Nazmi -- has become dire. Opportunities to evacuate Gaza are spotty, and they need to do so as soon as possible so Muhammad can resume his therapy.
Please do what you can to help the Ashours. Give what you can & share.
when film companies start realizing that the reason their sales are tanking is because they’re casting war criminals, they’ll stop hiring them, Inshallah. but in order to do that you have to not give them your money.
i don’t wanna hear that “someone else will do it to make up for it” mentality because i promise you’re not the only person who’s thinking that way, and then we’re back at square one. boycotts have to be taken seriously collectively or else they’re less effective.
use that theater ticket money to donate to a palestinian fundraiser instead.
